CERTIFICATIONS
BRC GLOBAL STANDARD FOR FOOD SAFETY - IFS FOOD
(INTERNATIONAL FEATURE STANDARD)
In 2011, PreGel obtained certifications from the BRC and IFS Food, stating
that an efficient system is in place as well as high standards of hygiene.
These standards focus on quality and food safety, and a complete application
of HACCP as an integral part of the system.
PreGel is proud to have renewed its BRC and IFS Food certifications,
reaching the maximum score for both. This achievement demonstrates the
company's dedication to achieving food quality, health and compliance with
local regulations and specifications for its customers.
ORGANIC CERTIFICATION
In 2012, PreGel obtained an organic certification in line with the company's
policy of sustainability. The organic production method not only responds to
consumer demand and caters to a specific market but also provides public
goods that contribute to environmental protection, animal welfare and rural
development.
PreGel's organic products are made in compliance with the EC Reg. 834/2001;
a certification body authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture verifies
compliance with the requirements of the regulation.
GLUTEN-FREE
PreGel has continued to expand its gluten-free offerings as part of an initiative
to always stay abreast of the needs of its customers.
PreGel has the ability to mark products gluten-free due to the rigorous
allergen policy in place based on specific procedures for preventing crosscontamination, as well as strict controls at every level, stringent cleaning of the
lines, and training of all employees. PreGel's commitment for the future is to
continue extending its gluten-free offerings, thanks to new technologies and
recently installed equipment.
HALAL
The term Halal is a Quranic term meaning lawful and, with specific reference
to the food area, this is the term that establishes the proper relationship of
the Muslim believer with food. Halal certification therefore panders to
Muslim consumer’s need to respect the precepts of Islam.
The compliance with the strict requirements provided for in the procedural
guidelines of Halal products is a safeguard for the consumer and is
periodically verified by the certification body.
KOSHER
The word Kosher in Hebrew means “compliant with law” or “suitable” and,
when referred to foodstuff, it indicates that this food was produced in
compliance with the dietary rules prescribed by the Bible; the Kosher
certification of a food satisfies the needs of consumers of Jewish religion.
The extreme rigidity of the rules for the manufacture of Kosher products
represents a safeguard for the consumer, regardless of his religion, thus
making the Kosher certification a quality brand recognized all over the world.
The respect of these strict rules is reviewed periodically by the certification
body.
