GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS
WARNING! Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and
instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions
for future reference.
1) ELECTRICAL SAFETY
a) Power lead plugs must match the outlet.
Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools.
Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators.
There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from
heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
e) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use
of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
f) Do not operate powered products in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or
dust. Powered products create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
g) Keep children and bystanders away while operating any powered products. Distractions can cause
you to lose control.
2) SERVICE
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure
that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
3) VACUUM SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
a) This device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities
or lacking experience and/or knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or are
instructed by these persons on the use of the device.
b) Children should be supervised, to ensure that they do not play with the device.
c) Keep packaging film away from children- risk of suffocation!
d) Switch the appliance off after every use and prior to every cleaning/maintenance procedure.
e) Risk of fire. Do not vacuum up any burning or glowing objects.
f) The appliance may not be used in areas where a risk of explosion is present.
g) Only use the appliance for its designated purpose. Any other types of use are at your own risk and are
possibly dangerous.
h) Never use the appliance when you are under the influence of medication, alcohol or drugs, if you are currently under
medical care, or if you are tired.

4) RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
• Never touch the mains plug and the socket with wet hands.
• Do not pull the plug from the socket by pulling on the power cord.
• Check the power cord and the plug for damage before every use. If the power cord or plug is damaged,
please arrange for the replacement of the cord immediately by an authorized customer service or a
skilled electrician.
• To avoid accidents due to electrical faults we recommend the use of sockets with a line-side currentlimiting circuit breaker (max. 30 mA nominal tripping current).
• Check the appliance and the power cord regularly for any possible damage. Don’t use damaged appliances.
CAUTION
• Certain materials may produce explosive vapours or mixtures when agitated by the suction air!
• Never vacuum up the following materials:
i.
Explosive or combustible gases, liquids and dust particles (reactive dust particles).
ii
Reactive metal dust particles (such as aluminium, magnesium, zinc) in combination
with highly alkaline or acidic detergents.
iii. Undiluted, strong acids and alkalise.
iv Organic solvents (such as petrol, paint thinners, acetone, heating oil).
Note: In addition, these substances may cause the appliance materials to corrode.
• Make sure that the correct dust bag has been inserted securely in its holder before using the appliance.
The wrong dust bag or incorrectly installed dust bags can cause damage to the appliance and cause the
guarantee to become void.
• Do not vacuum up ashes, hot coals and the like, large fragments of glass and sharp objects.
• Don’t vacuum up any toner dust, which is used in printers and copiers for example, because it is electrically
conductive. In addition, it is possible that it will not be completely filtered out by the filter system of the
wet/dry vacuum cleaner and can be released into the air via the exhaust fan.
5) LABELS ON TOOL

ASSEMBLY
Remove all of the vacuum components from the box and dispose of all the packaging
materials thoughtfully and as per your local council guidelines
1. Connect the 3pce extension wand pieces (2) together to create the vacuum wand.
2. Insert the lower vacuum hose (3) connector into the vacuum hose inlet connector (6)
and secure the hose by twisting the hose connector a ¼ turn in a clockwise direction (Fig 1a).
3. Insert the bent upper vacuum hose connection coupling into the top of the 3pce
extension wand (2) (Fig 1b).
4. Locate the appropriate vacuum tool onto the lower section of the 3pce extension wand (2).

CHOOSING THE CORRECT VACUUM FILTER
THE KP701 15L WET & DRY VACUUM COMES WITH TWO FILTER TYPES.
Foam Filter: The foam filter (16) can only be installed when you are using the vacuum to clean up spills or when water is present where you are vacuuming. The foam filter (16)
is designed to prevent water splash-back within the vacuum tank (11) from entering the
motor head (12) during operation.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE FOAM FILTER IN DRY VACUUMING APPLICATIONS.
Cloth Filter: The cloth filter (17) can be installed for all general vacuuming applications
where water is not present. This cloth filter (17) can be continuously used for many years
as it is a cleanable & washable accessory.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE CLOTH FILTER IN WET VACUUMING APPLICATIONS.
Note: You MUST NOT use more than one filter type at a time.
• Using more than one filter type at a time can cause damage to the vacuum cleaner motor potentially leading
to premature failure of the product. - Failure of the product due to using more than one filter at a time is not
covered by the manufacturers warranty.
• Regular cleaning of the filter is required to maintain optimal suction of the vacuum. Failure to clean the filters
regularly can lead to damage of the vacuum and or poor performance of the product. Premature failure of the
product or poor performance of the vacuum is not covered by the manufacturers warranty and can be
considered abuse of the tool.
INSTALLATION OF THE FILTERS
Remove the vacuum head (12) from the vacuum tank (11) by releasing the tank retention clips (10)
on the side of the vacuum. Install the correct filter type for your application as follows
Foam Filter (16) Wet Vacuuming: Slide the foam filter (16)
over the filter basket (15) (fig 2a) until the filter is located
over the filter locating rings on the underside of the
motor head (12) (fig 2b).

Cloth Filter (17) Dry Vacuuming: Locate the cloth filter (17)
onto the upper top ring of vacuum tank (11) (fig 3).
Once located ensure that the filter is pressed into the
vacuum tank (11) so the motor head (12) can be installed
correctly (fig 4).

OPERATION
TURNING ON/OFF THE VACUUM.
WARNING! This vacuum cleaner is NOT designed to be used as a water transferring device. The vacuum is
intended to clean up general spills in & around the home, shed, garage or workshop.
DO NOT submerge the vacuum pipes or hoses directly into water when vacuuming.
WARNING! This vacuum cleaner is NOT designed to be used for vacuuming of plaster and cement dusts. The
vacuum is intended to clean up general dust and debris in and around home, shed, garage or workshop.
Plaster and cement dusts are very fine in particulate and contain abrasive particals that can penetrate past the
vacuum filters and cause premature damage to the vacuum motor and components.
Premature failure of the vacuum due to using the product for vacuuming up plaster or cement dust & debris is
not covered under warranty.
WARNING! Ensure the tool is disconnected from the power supply before cleaning or maintaining the appliance.
1. Plug the vacuum into your wall socket and turn the wall socket ON.
2. To turn ON the vacuum press the ON/Off switch (5) to the “ON” “I” position (fig 5).
3. To turn OFF the vacuum press the ON/Off switch (5) to the “OFF” “O” position (fig 6)
VACUUMING DRY MATERIALS
CAUTION: Always check that you have the correct filter type in your vacuum prior to
commencing vacuuming.
1. Ensure that the power cord is removed from the wall socket and remove the motor head (12)
from the vacuum tank (11) by releasing the tank retention clips (10) on the side of the vacuum.
2. Check to ensure that the foam filter (16) is NOT located on the filter basket (15) and that the
cloth filter (17) is located onto the upper top ring of vacuum tank (11) (fig 7).
3. Once you have the cloth filter installed into your vacuum re-assemble the motor head (12)
back onto of the vacuum tank (11). Locate and secure the tank retention clips (10)
onto the motor head (12).
4. Plug the vacuum into your wall socket and turn the wall socket ON.
You can now commence vacuuming.
NOTE: When vacuuming dry materials it may be required to open the front or rear face of the wet &
dry floor tool (8) to allow the larger debris (wood shavings, large dirt clumps etc.) to be sucked
into the vacuum. This can be achieved by tilting the wet & dry floor tool (8) up or down
approximately 5-10˚ to create an opening between the wet & dry floor tool (8) front brush and the
floor. When pushing the wet & dry floor tool (8) forward push the 3pce extension wand (2) towards
the ground slightly to open the front face of the wet & dry floor tool (8) and allow the debris to
enter the vacuum (fig 8). When retracting the wet & dry floor tool (8) backwards lift the 3 pce
extension wand wand (2) towards the sky slightly to open the rear face of the wet & dry floor tool
(8) and allow the debris to enter the vacuum (fig 9).

VACUUMING WET MATERIALS

of the vacuum.
2. Check to ensure that the cloth filter (17) is NOT located on the upper top ring of vacuum
tank (11) and that the foam filter (16) is located on filter basket (15) (fig 10).
3. Once you have the foam filter (4) installed into your vacuum re-assemble the motor head (12) back
onto of the vacuum tank (11).
Locate and secure the tank retention clips (10) onto the motor head (12).
4. Plug the vacuum into your wall socket and turn the wall socket on.
You can now commence vacuuming.
NOTE: When vacuuming wet materials it may be required to open the front or rear face of the wet &
dry floor tool (8) to allow the larger debris (wet sand or excessive water etc.) to be sucked into the
vacuum. This can be achieved by tilting the wet & dry floor tool (8) up or down approximately 5
-10˚ to create an opening between the wet & dry floor tool (8) front brush and the floor.
When pushing the wet & dry floor tool (8) forward push the 3pce extension wand (2) towards the
ground slightly to open the front face of the wet & dry floor tool (8) and allow the debris to enter
the vacuum (fig 11).
When retracting the wet & dry floor tool (8) backwards lift the 3pce extension wand (2) towards
the sky slightly to open the rear face of the wet & dry floor tool (8) and allow the debris to enter
the vacuum (fig12).

VACUUM SAFETY FLOAT VALVE
NOTE: Your Wet & Dry vacuum is installed with a safety float valve (14) located within the filter
basket (15).
A. This float safety valve (14) is designed to stop any water from entering the motor head (12) if
the vacuum tank (11) becomes full of a liquid.
B. This safety float valve (14) will also activate if the vacuum falls over or overturns. Refer
to the (fig. 13 & 14) to identify yourself with the position of the safety float valve (15) in the event is
has activated.
• Safety float valve in normal operation position (fig 13).
• Safety float valve in “activated” position (fig14).
The vacuum will not operate in the activated position until it has been reset.
To reset the safety float valve (14)
A. turn off the vacuum & empty the vacuum tank (11) or
B. upright the vacuum and turn it off and wait for 3-5 seconds.
This should reset the safety float valve (14) and the vacuum can now be used again.
BLOWER PORT FUNCTION
Your vacuum is fitted with a blower port (13). The blower port (13) enables you to connect your
vacuum hose (3) into the blower port (13) creating a low pressure air blower. This air blower can be
used for clearing off work benches, blowing out under shelving or moving light debris around your
work area ready to vacuum up.
Connect the lower vacuum hose (3) connector into the blower port (13) and secure the hose by
twisting the vacuum hose (3) connector a ¼ turn in a clockwise direction (fig 15).

STORAGE OF THE WET & DRY VACUUM
WARNING!: ENSURE THE TOOL IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE POWER SUPPLY BEFORE CLEANING OR MAINTAINING
THE APPLIANCE.
• Always ensure that the vacuum is emptied of any debris prior to storage.
• Ensure that any liquids have been removed from the vacuum tank (11) and that the vacuum tank (11) is completely
dry prior to storage.
• Keep the machine out of reach of children, in a stable and safe position.
• Keep children and unauthorised personnel out of the storage room.
MAINTENANCE OF THE VACUUM
WARNING!: ENSURE THE TOOL IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE POWER SUPPLY BEFORE CLEANING
OR MAINTAINING THE APPLIANCE.
• Regularly clean the vacuum filters to prolong the life of your product. Cleaning of the vacuum filters can be achieved by tapping/
knocking the filter inside your garbage bin to release the dust/debris from the filter material and/or use compressed air to blow
the dust debris out of the filter. (always ensure you are wearing the correct personal protection equipment PPE) when cleaning
the vacuum filters. Also always consider your surroundings and other persons within your work area when cleaning your
vacuum filters.
• Clean any dust or debris from around the vacuum filter basket (15) on a regular basis to prevent debris from being sucked into
the motor head(12).
• Immediately replace any damaged vacuum filters.
• Never attempt to lubricate any motor components of the vacuum.

or in the event of anomalies other than those described above, take the vacuum to an authorised service centre or
place of purchase showing proof of purchase for assistance.
