I. Description of the Item and Quantity
Design, fabrication, testing at manufacturer’s works, supply, packing and delivery of fully
automated & integrated Glass cleaning Robot as per technical specification.

II.TENDER SUBMISSION
a) The supplier shall submit the technical bid in conformance with the technical
specification given in the bid document along with supporting documents such as
catalogues, previous supply of similar items/systems/components etc, schematic
diagram/Engineering diagram related to fully automated & integrated Glass cleaning
Robot. Any deviations from the technical specifications shall be clearly brought out and
listed by the supplier.
III. DETAILED TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
1. Scope of supply
Design, fabrication, supply, installation, commissioning testing at manufacturer’s works,
packing and delivery of fully automated & integrated Glass cleaning Robot consisting of auto /
manual two dimensional motion both in horizontal as well as vertical plane with edge detection
algorithm and proprietary computer assisted route planning logic. Glass cleaning Robot should
be able to operate in either AUTO or Manual Mode according to the instruction from the Remote
Control. Glass cleaning Robot should be able to compute cleaning path, to detect edges of
window by sensors, to clean the entire window automatically. Glass cleaning Robot should
remain on window by suction motors or other means possible. Provision for UPS emergency
battery along with power adapter should be there.

2. Glass cleaning Robot
Description:
The Glass cleaning Robot employs automated system for cleaning Glass Window. Glass
Robot is placed on glass window and it remains on the window by help of powerful suction
Glass cleaning Robot goes through small distance while both sides rotate so as to make the
window clean. Glass cleaning Robot can clean any thickness glass window in both vertical and
horizontal position. It is easy to start and remains on the glass window. It has cleaning wheels
which rotate as the Glass cleaning Robot moves forward. During this linear travel, it is guided by

edge detection algorithm along with computer assisted route planning logic. It is operated with a
Remote Control and can be operated in Auto or Manual mode as per instructions from Remote
Control. Easy replaceable micro fibre cloth is used on both the cleaning wheels. There is also a
safety rope for fail safe condition. It has to be provided with Auto detect edged of window, Auto
finish, Anti fall control system, Remote control, Table cleaning mode.
The system shall be robust, compact and maintenance free. Special care shall be taken such that
Glass cleaning Robot should never fall from vertical window neither it shall incur any scratch or
deformation.

3. Design requirements
The design of all parts of the Glass cleaning Robot shall be in accordance with the
requirements of latest relevant standards. It is not intended that the specification will describe
detail of various parts of the equipment in complete detail. It is left to the experience and practice
of the contractor to supply the equipment which will meet in all respects the requirements of the
Department with regard to tests, performance, durability and successful operation of fully
automated & integrated Glass cleaning Robot.
Control unit shall be designed with proper margin to achieve performance and best
efficiency.
Safety arrangements shall be incorporated to prevent damage to components/operator on
account of mechanical damage/ overload or electrical faults due to overstressing and detrimental
conditions.

3.1 Features for Operational Safety
General safety features provided in the design are as follows:
1 Sensors are provided to stop motion in case of edge detection.
2 Safety Rope is prevents fall of robot in case of suction failure.
3.2 Operation and Control
The Glass Cleaning can be performed in auto or manual mode. However, auto mode is the
normal mode of operation. The auto mode is controlled by algorithms and sensors, whereas, the
manual control is by remote. In manual mode also, the speeds can be varied.
4. Sequence of Operation

Operator starts the Glass cleaning Robot using Remote Control and selects either of the
two modes.
2 In AUTO mode glass should be cleaned automatically
3 In manual mode movement should be controlled by Remote.
4 Edge detection system should be active throughout irrespective of mode of operation
AUTO or Manual.
IV INSPECTION
Inspection shall be carried out at supplier’s premises during fabrication & assembly of the
equipment. The purchaser shall have the right to inspect fully automated & integrated Glass
cleaning Robot, materials of construction and other parts at different stages during fabrication
and the purchaser or his representative shall have free access to the supplier’s premises. Before
dispatch, thorough inspection of fully automated & integrated Glass cleaning Robot, control
system, interlocks testing and performance of all other components shall be undertaken at the
supplier’s premises.
V TESTING AND COMMISSIONING
The supplier shall install and commission fully automated & integrated Glass cleaning Robot
along with associated control and instrumentation at supplier’s site, The supplier shall unload
and place the equipment in identified storage at the site and shall be responsible for loading and
transportation the materials from the place of storage to the site for erection.
VI DELIVERY PERIOD
Fully automated & integrated Glass cleaning Robot shall be delivered within 4 months from the
date of receipt of purchase order.
VII PACKING AND TRANSPORTATION
a) The equipment shall be neatly wrapped with polythene sheets to avoid any ingress of
foreign material and shall be suitably packed to avoid damage to the equipment and its
surface during handling and transportation. The packing shall be sufficiently reinforced
so that it can withstand repeated handling and prevent damage to equipment.
b) All the packed equipment shall be transported on a door-to-door delivery basis to the
purchaser’s destination without any transhipment in between to avoid any damage to
equipment. At the time of receipt of equipment at site, any damage to equipment or

contamination observed on the equipment is cause for rejection. The supplier shall ensure
replacement at his own cost for any damage/loss during transit.
c) Shipment
i) All the equipment shall be delivered to Stores officer at IGCAR, Kalpakkam, Tamil
Nadu, only after obtaining shipping release from the purchaser or his authorized
representative. No equipment shall be dispatched without prior written consent
(shipping release) issued by the purchaser or his representative.
ii) The supplier shall be fully responsible for protective measures to ensure safe delivery
of the equipment.
VIII GUARANTEE
The firm shall guarantee satisfactory performance of fully automated & integrated Glass cleaning
Robot for a period of 12 months from the date of acceptance.
