I DEAS TO P ROMOTE M ILK S ALES T HROUGH Y OUR V ENDING M ACHINE Low-Fat Low-Fat PAIR BAKE SALES AND MILK. b Straw erry Talk to groups in the school that may be having bake sales and invite them to position their sale near the milk vending machine. Nothing tastes better with cookies or cupcakes than fresh, cold milk. CANDID CAMERA. Ask the Low-Fat RUN A REWARDS PROGRAM. Mark a Chocolate Fat-Free Chocolate Chocolate Fat-Free few of the bottle caps in the machine with an indelible marker. Allow students to redeem the lucky cap for a free snack or breakfast item in the cafeteria. SET A SALES GOAL. Set a goal for number of milks to be sold in the machine during a special week at school, perhaps during final exams, homecoming, prom week or basketball tournament time. Promote your goal and post daily results. Share some of the extra sales profits with a student charity or local food bank as an incentive for students to buy extra milk and reach the goal. PUT YOUR JOHN HANCOCK ON IT. Chocolate Low-Fat b Straw erry is going to be hosting a special sports tournament or community event, consider moving the machine into the area where visitors will see and purchase the milk. COLLECT THE CAPS. Offer a pizza b Straw erry wberry Stra wberry Stra party or other simple incentive to the class or student group that collects the most caps from milk purchased through the milk machine over a two week period. Award students that turn in 15 tops at the end of the month with a special giveaway or incentive. Have a teacher sign one of the milk containers in indelible ink. Award the student purchasing that milk a gift certificate from the favorite local pizza place or a special lunch with a local celebrity (sports player, mayor, favorite teacher or coach). TELL THEM... AND TELL THEM AGAIN. Place signs and posters around MOVE THE MACHINE. If your school Fat-Free photography club or another interested group to randomly take Polaroid Milk Mustache pictures of students buying and drinking milk from the machine during breakfast and lunch time at school on unannounced days. Post the pictures on a bulletin board near the machine. Fat-Free the school to highlight the location of the machine and the flavors available. Be sure to put signs in the locker rooms to remind student athletes to stop and get milk before or after practice, when they are likely to be hungry. If your school has an electronic billboard, post a fun reminder to stop and chug milk every day for great taste and good health. Place a banner ad about school milk vending on the school website, reminding students to stop and get fresh cold milk at the machine. CALL AND ASK.
