Miele upgrades its countertop coffee machines
Add-on bonus for coffee connoisseurs
Gütersloh/Berlin, September 3, 2014. – A year ago, Miele presented two
new countertop coffee makers from its CM6 range which have since
successfully earned their rightful place in the market. Now, the company
has further improved the features of these units and is also adding a
splash of colour.
Customers can choose between two versions: the CM 6110 and the CM 6310.
Even the new CM 6110 entry-line offering offers the ability to programme four
user profiles. This is practical when a household has several coffee lovers, all
with their own preferences when it comes to grind, cup size, temperature and
pre-brewing option. These parameters can all be conveniently set and saved
under the user's name. Espresso, regular coffee, cappuccino and latte
macchiato were delivered by the previous model at the touch of a button, even
filling two cups at one go (One Touch for Two). Now, an additional button
places further specialities, including ristretto - a stronger version of the
espresso - at the touch of a fingertip. Alongside Lotus White and Obsidian
Black, the third colour to join the line-up is Graphite Grey. The higher-priced
model CM 6310 also boasts familiar features such as a stainless-steel milk
flask, button and cup lighting, cup heating and hot water for tea.
In order to extract the entire goodness out of coffee beans, Miele has
equipped these new coffee makers with its tried-and-tested dynamic brew unit
(AromaticSystem). The chamber at the heart of this feature expands as water
enters, allowing greater space in which ground coffee and water can blend,
resulting in a more intensive aroma. Other settings such as the pre-brew
option, the fineness of grind, ground quantity and the temperature can be
changed individually at all times. All functions are presented in a high-quality,
razor-sharp TFT display using white characters on a black background. Miele
has given the name DirectSensor to this type of user interface which perfectly
matches the fascias on Generation 6000 built-in appliances in form and
function.
Cleaning is always a big issue on coffee makers, particularly regarding milk

residue in pipework. In this respect, these new models set a shining example
of hygiene as the milk lines and the Cappuccinatore are rinsed fully
automatically when the machine is switched off. Simply separate the hose
from the milk flask and insert the end of it into the drip tray. The hose is first
rinsed with water and then flushed with steam. The brew unit can be removed
for cleaning under warm running water. The drip tray and the coffee grounds
container are both dishwasher-proof.
