Why filtered water?
Although the water in the public supply system is drinkable at the point of entry, in most cases
it reaches the point of use, our homes, with strong chlorine taste and odour and often with sand,
rust and other sediments.
The poor condition of the old pipeline system and the substances used for disinfecting the water
in the public supply systems create discomfort and suspicion when we drink it.
Even more so, when using water extracted from the well, our health is endangered. This water
is unmonitored and untreated in terms of content and usually exhibits inadequate amounts of
constituents, some of which are toxic for our system.
To eliminate these potential dangers, most of us have chosen to use bottled water with all its
shortcomings:

Pollution. Every year, a family of four consuming bottled water on a regular basis disposes
of at least 1000 plastic containers, most of which end up at landfill sites or directly in nature.
Only a small proportion is recycled and transformed into other products. PET is a highly
durable material in nature; it takes about 700-800 years until it starts decomposing, and it is
completely disintegrated after around 1000 years.
Hazardous to health. How bottled water is transported and stored can adversely affect water
quality. Water bottled in PETs, unprotected from direct sunlight or held near a heat source,
can become hazardous to health, as the plastic may release a series of toxic compounds into
the water.
High costs. Bottled water is the most expensive product we buy, being almost 1000 times
more expensive than tap water.
Effort. You carry almost 2 tons of water from the store to your house in a year.
What is filtered water?
We now have the option to have, with no effort, safe water running at the tap in our home.
Depending on the problems we are dealing with, we can choose between simple variants of
filtration and treatment systems, retaining suspended solids or residue materials, such as rust
and sand, from the drinking water, and complex systems eliminating or neutralizing viruses and
bacteria and other compounds hazardous to health.
Another category is the anti-limescale systems that provide protection against limescale deposits. Electrical household appliances using water will have longer lifespan and optimum energy
consumption. Sanitary items will preserve their shine and nice look.

How to choose the best solution?
The first step is to determine the problems you are dealing with. For this, the best solution is to
conduct a physicochemical and biological analysis, where appropriate (e.g. well water).
The next step is to have the analyses interpreted by a specialist and choose a
treatment/filtration solution to bring the water within the quality limits required for drinkable
water.

AquaPUR filtration and treatment systems are intended to improve the quality and safety of drinking water.
This equipment is ready to be used and installed, fully equipped and, depending on the model, it can either be installed at the point
of consumption/use (POU e.g.: under the sink, to the kitchen tap, etc.) or at the point of entry of the water supply system (POE e.g.:
the entry into the house).

They filter the sludge, the rust and other
types of sediments and reduce the taste

PUR 3 UF system is an equipment
designed to filter and treat water coming
from wells and the public supply
networks.
As compared to the first two systems,
the PUR 3 UF system provides
microbiological
protection

They are simple and effective equipment

AquaPUR filters, recommended for filtering drinking water, cover a large dimensional range in our desire to meet as many needs as

The purpose of mechanical filtration is to
retain solid particles in the water: dust,
sand, rust.
The choice of the Micron rating depends
on the water quality. A 1-μm or 5-μm
filter is enough if the water is relatively
clean. If the water is visibly dirty, use a filter with larger pores of 10 or 20 μm and
then a fine 1-μm or 5-μm filter.
Disposable mechanical filters, after silting, cannot be washed and reused:

The activated carbon can improve the
taste, the odour and the colour and retain:
• compounds formed when treating water with chlorine and derivatives (trihalomethanes);
•pesticides and by-products derived
from pesticides;
•chlorinated hydrocarbons and volatile
organic compounds;
•compounds able to interact with the
endocrine system;
• pharmaceutical and personal care compounds.
The ultrafiltration membrane cartridges
are based on the separation principle, retaining bacteria present in the water that
cannot be removed in the previous filtration stages.
Additionally, the semipermeable ultrafiltration membrane can retain any particles
larger than 0.1 μm.
The benefit of this type of filtration is that
it does not eliminate salts and minerals
from the water.

ION EXCHANGE FILTRATION/
TREATMENT SYSTEMS
The treatment/filtration technology based on ion exchange resins is one of the simplest and most convenient ways to improve
water quality. The ion exchange resins retain harmful concentrated ions in the water and replace them with harmless ions of the
same polarity, usually sodium ions derived from the sodium chloride solution used periodically to regenerate the resin.

Water hardness is the most expensive
water characteristic that homeowners,
business people and administrators of
public institutions have to deal with.
Well water often contains magnesium,
calcium, iron, manganese, ammonia and
organic compounds, which complicate
their reduction to the level accepted by
the rules. Ecomix FK systems eliminate
them in one step, in a single unit based on
the Ecomix filter medium.
The medium is regenerated with sodium
chloride solution the same way as for
softeners.
The filter medium for SOFT/FU
the DOWEXTM-HCRS/S Cationic resin
systems can reduce water hardness.
Some of the effects of hard water
are the deposits inside the pipes and
appliances, the high consumption of
detergent, the low foaming of the soap,
the compromised look of sanitary items,
the high consumption of electricity by
heating appliances, the look of the skin
and hair.
Ion exchange softening is the simplest
and most convenient way to reduce water
hardness. The ion
changing resins attract and retain the ions
of metals dissolved into the water and
release harmless sodium ions to balance
the load.
Ecomix is a mixture of media comprising
ion exchange resins with synergic
properties. Inside the treatment system,
the Ecomix bed is stratified into
complementary layers that purify the
water of impurities that are normally
found in it: hardness, iron, manganese,
ammonia and organic material.
The filter medium for the MIX/FK
Filter medium ECOMIX can reduce
hardness and retain iron, manganese, organic matter and ammonia.

UV DISINFECTION SYSTEMS
Ultraviolet disinfection systems were specifically designed to destroy bacteria and viruses present in the water. They are
recommended where a high degree of sterilization is required.
UV disinfection of drinking water is used in cases such as:
- Disinfection of water from own sources (e.g.: well water);
- Final stage of the water treatment process (e.g.: large water treatment plants);
- Where no other types of disinfection/sterilization are admissible (e.g.: chlorine treatment);
UV sterilizers use UV radiation with a wavelength of 254 nm that causes photochemical reactions and damages the DNA of
microorganisms, leading to their death or sterility.

Consumables for UV systems
These UV disinfection systems are simple
and easy to install.
Usable for low flow rates ranging between
0.3 and 2.7 m³/h.
The green LED on the power charger
indicates that the system is working.
With capacities up to 12 m³/h, the UVLCD systems are controlled by an electric
panel (IP55, LCD display, operating hour
metering, warning light for non-optimal
operation).
The UV lamp is the main element of the
station. It has a lifespan of up to 9,000
hours of operation.
The quartz Tubee protects the UV lamp.
The O-ring gasket is the sealing element.

advisable to use mechanical filters, ion
exchange systems (if applicable) or any
other filter/system to protect the quartz
Tubee. Failure to use them results in the
reduced efficiency of the UV disinfection
