4610 SW IP Telephone Guide
Answer, Place, and End a Call
To receive a call:
Pick up the handset or, Activate the headset or, Press the
Speakerphone button. Talk.
To dial a call manually:
Pick up the handset or, Activate your headset or, Press the
Speakerphone button.
Dial the number. (5 digits for numbers in the Avaya system,
9+7 digits for a local number, 9+1+10 digits for long distance)
To end a call:
Hang up the handset or, Deactivate the headset or, Press the
Speakerphone button.
Hold
To place a call on hold:
Press the Hold
button.
To retrieve the held call:
Press the Line/Feature button on which the call is being held
Mute
To prevent the other person on the line from hearing you:
Press the Mute
button.
To reinstate two-way conversation:
Press the Mute button again.
Transfer
To send a call to another telephone:
With the call active (or with only one held call and no active
calls), press the Transfer
button.
Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call.
If you wish to wait for an answer and announce the call, remain
on the line and announce the call.
Hang up your handset.
Send All Calls
To send all calls (except priority calls) to coverage:
Press Send All Calls while on-hook.
To cancel Send All Calls:
Press Send All Calls again while on-hook.
Conference
You can set up a conference call with up to 6 participants
(yourself and 5 other parties)
Dial the first party.
Press the Conference
button.
Dial the number of the next party and wait for an answer.
Press the Conference button again to add the new party to the
call.
Repeat Steps 2- 4 for each party you want to conference in to the
call.
To add a held call to the current call:
Press the Conference button.
Press the Line/Feature button of the held call.
Press the Conference button again.
To drop the last person added to the call:
Press the Drop
button.
Redial
If your phone is programmed to dial the last number called:
Press the Redial
Feature button.
If your phone is programmed to list the last three numbers
called:
Press the Redial Feature button.
Press the Line/Feature button associated with the number you
want to redial.
Proceed with the call.
Call Forwarding All Calls
To temporarily redirect all calls:
Press Call Forward.
Dial the extension or phone number where calls are to be
sent.
To cancel Call Forwarding:
Press Call Forward again while on-hook.
Call Park
To park a call for retrieval from any extension:
Press Transfer.
Press Call Park, or dial the Call Park code *66.
Hang up.
To retrieve a call parked at any extension:
Press Call Park or dial the Answer Back code #66.
Dial the extension number where the call is parked.
To return to a call parked at your extension:
Press Call Park. or, Dial the Answer Back code #66
Call Pickup
To answer a call placed to your pickup group when your phone
is idle:
Press Call Pickup.
To answer a new call while active on another call :
Press Hold.
Press Call Pickup.
Call Log
To view a call log:
Access the Call Log application by pressing the Log softkey.
To review calls you made, press the Outgo softkey.
To review calls you answered, press the InAns softkey.
To review the missed calls, press the Missed softkey.
Each log will save 15 entries. Use the PAGE LEFT and
PAGE RIGHT keys to see more entries in the log.
To see detailed information about a call, press the
Line/Feature button to the left or right of that entry.
To call a party from the Call Log:
Press the Line/Feature button associated with the name/number
of the person you want to call.
Select Call.
Proceed with the call as usual.
To delete all entries from a call log:
Access the Call Log application by pressing the Log softkey.
If you want to clear the Incoming Answered Calls Log, press
the InAns softkey to display that Call Log.
If you want to clear the Outgoing Calls Log, press the Outgo
softkey to display that Call Log.
Press the Delete All softkey.
To complete the deletion of all entries for this Call Log, press
Delete.
To exit the Call Log application, press the Phone/Exit
button.
To delete a single call log entry:
Access the Call Log application by pressing the Log softkey.
With the entry to be deleted displayed, press the Line/Feature
button corresponding to that entry.
Press the Delete softkey.
To complete deleting this Call Log entry, press Delete.
To exit the Call Log application, press the Phone/Exit
button.
Speed Dial
To add a speed dial button:
Access the Speed Dial application by pressing the SpDial
softkey.
Press the Add softkey.
Use the dialpad to enter the name of the person being added to a
Speed Dial button.
After completing the Name field, press Done.
Use the dialpad to enter the telephone number of the person for
whom you are adding the Speed Dial button.
Verify that the Name and Number entered are correct.
When the Name and Number are correct, press the Save softkey
to add the information to a Speed Dial button.
To add another Speed Dial button, repeat this procedure from
Step 2.
To exit the Speed Dial application, press the Phone/Exit
button.
To dial a party using a Speed Dial button:
Press the SpDial softkey at the bottom of the display screen.
If the party you want to call appears on the display, proceed to
Step 3. If the party you want to call is not shown, use the Page
Left and Page right buttons to display the next page of entries.
Press the Line/Feature button associated with the name/number
of the person you want to call.
Pick up the handset, activate the headset, or use the
Speakerphone to proceed with the call.
Hang up the handset, deactivate the headset, or press the
Speakerphone
button to end the call.
To change the name or number associated with a Speed Dial
button:
Access the Speed Dial application by pressing the SpDial
softkey.
Use the Page Left and/or Page Right buttons as appropriate
until the entry you want to update is displayed.
Press the Edit softkey.
Press the Line/Feature button corresponding to the button you
want to update.
Edit the Name and Number fields as appropriate.
After changing the name, or to change the number without
changing the name, press Done.
To update another Speed Dial button, repeat this procedure from
Step 2.
To exit the Speed Dial application, press the Phone/Exit
button.
Abbreviated Dial
To program an Abbreviated Dial number (SD keys on your
display):
Press Abr Program.
Press the SD button you wish to program
Enter the phone number you wish to program on that key.
Include any leading digits (9, 9+1) that you would dial to reach
the number.
To place a call using an Abbreviated Dial (SD) key
Lift handset (or activate headset or press SPEAKER key
Press the SD key you wish to call
To change the label displayed for an Abbreviated Dial (SD) key
Press the OPTIONS key
Press PAGE RIGHT key until you “Feature Button Labeling”
appears on your display, press the key next to that entry.
Select “Relabel feature buttons”
Select the key you wish to relabel, enter the information
Press the Save softkey at the bottom of the display screen
Options
To set the Phone Screen on Calling option:
From the Applications Options screen, press the Line/Feature
button that corresponds to the Phone Screen on Calling option.
To save this setting, press the Save softkey.
To set the Phone Screen on Answer option:
From the Applications Options screen, press the Line/Feature
button that corresponds to the Phone Screen on Answer option.
To save this setting, press the Save softkey.
To set the redial option:
From the Applications Options screen, press the Line/Feature
button that corresponds to the Redial option.
To save this setting, press the Save softkey.
To set the call timers display:
From the Applications Options screen, press the Line/Feature
button that corresponds to the Call Timers option.
To save this setting, press the Save softkey.
To change the display contrast:
From the Contrast Control screen, press the Line/Feature button
that corresponds to the Adjust display contrast option.
If you want to brighten the contrast, press the Right Arrow
softkey until you reach the desired contrast level.
If you want to dim the contrast, press the Left Arrow
softkey until you reach the desired contrast level.
To save the new contrast level, press the Save softkey.
To restore the default label to a single feature button:
From the Feature Button Labeling screen, select Relabel feature
buttons.
Select (press) the Feature button you want to relabel.
To restore the default label to the selected Feature button, select
Clear to remove the label you previously defined.
Select Save to save the modified label.
To relabel any of the Phone application feature buttons:
From the Feature Button Labeling screen, select Relabel feature
buttons.
Select (press) the Feature button you want to relabel.
Use the dialpad and any applicable Line/Feature buttons to enter
the new label.
Select Save to save the modified label.
To restore the default label to all of the feature buttons:
From the Feature Button Labeling screen, select Restore default
labels.
To restore the default labels, select Default.
To view the default labels for the feature buttons:
From the Feature Button Labeling screen, select View default
labels.
To redisplay the Feature Button Labeling screen, select Return.
Integrated Directory
To place a call to the name displayed on the directory:
Lift the handset.
Press Return Call while the name is shown.
To search the directory for a name:
Press Directory.
Key in the selected name using the dial pad: last name, comma
(use * ), first name or initial.
Press Next Message for each successive directory name you
wish to see.
If you want to search for a new name, return to Step 1.
Adjusting Volume
