CABINEX-EWT Control System is an addressable control panel designed for use with
Carbon Dioxide and clean extinguishing agent suppression systems.
Please read and fully understand this manual, before installing and setting up this

3.2.2 Battery(Terminal No. 18, 19)
Sealed lead-acid batteries provide back up during AC power failure. Select the size of
battery (max 40AH) to give the required back up time. Use the following specified unit
or equivalent.

3.2.3 Output(Terminal No. 38, 39)
Terminal 38-39 is a resettable 24V DC output. To calculate the available output at this
terminal: Add the total current for all modules, solenoids, notification circuits,
detectors, and manual releases. Subtract that total from 3A.
If this value is greater
than 1.5A, 1.5A max is available, if the value is less than 1.5A, the value is the max
available output.

3.2.4 SI Module (Terminal No. 14, 15, 16, 17)
This is an interface between the detector and the Main Panel. The detector cannot be
connected directly to the Main Panel. A maximum of 8 SI Modules can be connected to
the Main Panel.

3.2.5 Discharge Module (Terminal No. 10, 11, 12, 13)
This is a module to activate the gas cartridge actuator GHK-10WT used in Hatsuta
extinguishing systems. The harness from the Discharge Module to the gas cartridge
actuator must not be extended, or the actuator may fail to actuate.
When solenoid actuators are used, this module is not required. A maximum of 6
Discharge Modules can be connected to the Main Panel.
Solenoid actuators and gas cartridge actuators can not be combined in one system.

3.2.6 Solenoid Actuator Output (Terminal No. 30, 31)
This provides a 24V DC 1A max. output to drive solenoid actuators for extinguishing
release. Use the following specified unit or equivalent.
E.g.
2-061-0015 (Chemetron) 24V DC solenoid actuator
2-061-0014 (Chemetron) 12V DC solenoid actuator, use 2 connected in series.
Solenoid actuators and gas cartridge actuators can not be combined in one system.
3.2.7 Notification Circuit Output (Terminal No. 32, 33)
This output is compatible with reverse polarity 24V DC Horn / Strobe devices. When
the system is in fire alarm condition, the Horn & Strobe flashes and produces a loud
sound. Use the following specified unit or equivalent. The maximum output of this
circuit is 0.5A.

3.2.8 Manual Release (Terminal No. 34, 35, 36, 37)
When the Manual Release is activated, the actuator will go on immediately without
delay. The Manual Release (EUEWM-129) connects to the Main Panel terminals 34 to
37. A maximum of 2 units can be used. The EUEWM-129 has buzzer and LED display.
These have the same function as the Main Panel.
If normally open contact Manual Releases are used, they must be connected to an SI
Module.

3.2.9
Discharge Disable Switch
The disable switch provides only a software disable function. The lock out valve must
be used to provide a safe disable for CO2 extinguishing systems.
When the discharge disable key switch is switched to disable mode, the signal to the
actuator is cut and the fault alarm is produced. If the system goes into alarm when in
disable mode, the extinguishing agent will not be discharged.
When solenoid is used the Discharge Disable Switch is wired to open circuit the
solenoid line.
When gas cartridge actuators are used, disconnect the actuator harness.

3.2.10 Lock Out Valve
The lock out valve should be used to safely disable
the CO2 extinguishing system. The limit switch on
the lock out valve can be connected to the SI
module. Set the SI module input to disable switch.
When the lock out valve is closed the actuator
signal will also be disabled.
3.2.11 Main Reserve Selector Switch
When a system uses a reserve supply, this key switch is used to select the main or
reserve supply.
The wiring depends on the type of actuator used. See bellow:

4.3 Pre-Discharge Condition
When any sensor activates in Single Zone (OR) mode, or when one or more sensors in
Zone 1 and Zone 2 activates in Cross Zone (AND) mode, the discharge count down will
start.

4.4 Discharge Condition
When the Manual Release is activated, or the discharge count down is over, the
actuator is activated to discharge the agent.

When any fault occurs, automatically return to normal condition when the fault
repaired.

Alarm Silence Condition
The Alarm Silence Switch can silence the Horn / Strobe output, and buzzer when
pushed when the panel is in alarm. Silence mode is canceled by the following.
z Push the silence switch again.
z New fire or fault alarm occurs.
z Push the reset switch.
z After 2 hours.

Confirm New Settings
After each setting has been changed, the buzzer will sound twice to indicate a change.
Use the menu to confirm the new setting is correct.

Back Step
To back step through the menu, push “SCROLL” for 2 seconds. To escape from the
menu, push “RESET”. If no key is pushed for 2 minutes the display will return to the
status screen.

5.4 Sensor Setting
5.4.1

Below is a block diagram of the detector connections. A maximum of 8 SI modules
can connect to the Main Panel. Each SI Module has 4 detector inputs, giving a
maximum of 32 detectors for 1 system.
Each SI Module has a selectable ID (ID0-ID7). When 8 SI Module are used, detector
address will be D01-D04, D11-D14, ……….D71-D74.

CAUTION:
* The temperature setting for heat detector (THIS) is set at the Main Panel.
* The table shows normally open contact type Manual Release, this type requires an SI
Module. The EUEWM-129 Manual Release connects directly to the Main Panel and
does not use SI Module.
* When the Discharge Disable Switch is connected, the software discharge disable
function in the main panel is not available.
* The following devices require a 100kΩ end of line resistor:

* When the THIS heat detector uses the specified Shunt –diode safety barrier, (i.e. for
intrinsically safe applications) select the Barrier command in the System setting.
If
the Barrier setting is not selected and the Shunt –diode safety barrier is used, the
alarm temperature will not be correct and false alarms or failure to alarm may occur.

The Main Panel has a real-time clock. History records the day and time of an event
from this clock.

Using this command will clear data. This is only used at the factory.

The current setting can be check by using the view function. In the case of heat
detector model THIS-15, the current temperature is also displayed in steps of 1℃.

Buzzer, LED test(LED, BUZZER TEST)
This command is used to check buzzer and LEDs. Selecting this command will cause
each LED to flash in turn and buzzer will sound with each flash.
6. Installation
6.1.1 Wiring
Wiring must be carried out in accordance with all local regulations.
Caution 1 : Check the wiring carefully, as mistaken wiring may damage the equipment.
Caution 2 : Use cable as specified in the table below or equivalent.

6.1.2 Earth
All boxes containing the following devices must be connected to Earth:
Main Panel (EUEWM-128, EUEWM-128R)
Manual Release (EUEWM-129)
SI Modules (EUEWM-130)
Discharge Modules (EUEWM-131)
Discharge Disable Switch (EUEWM-DDS)
Main Reserve Switch (EUEWM-MRS)
If the boxes are not connected to earth, the system may false alarm due to electrical
noise and static interference.
6.1.3 Switching the power ON
When powering up the system, switch the power switch on the main panel on before
connecting the battery.
When powering down the system, disconnect the battery then switch the main panel
power switch off.
6.2 Box for External Devices
Each external device should use a specified metal box or equivalent.
7. Battery Calculation
The battery back-up time required depends on each country’s regulations. If there are
no specific guidelines, use 24 hours back-up plus 5 minutes alarm. (NFPA72)

Error code 06 is a maintenance alarm. It is intended to promote regular
maintenance of the system. It does not indicate an actual fault in the system. The
maintenance alarm will occur 6 months after it has been reset. To reset the
maintenance alarm push the reset button for over 5 seconds.

If 2 or more modules have their rotary switches adjusted to the same ID, faults
(E11 to E16) will be displayed. Completely power down the system, and then re-adjust
the ID rotary switches on the modules. After the rotary switches are adjusted, power

up the system.
Do not adjust the ID rotary switches with the power on, as the system will not read the
new Id.

Battery voltage fault alarm E60
The battery voltage fault alarm will occur if the batteries are disconnected or have
discharged below a useable level.
The internal battery charger can not recharge batteries that have been discharged to
this level. They must be charged by an external lead acid battery charger. A 12V car
battery charger may be used to charge one battery at a time. Replace battery within 5
years after manufacture or more frequently as needed.
