QUICK INSTALLATION GUIDE
A - SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
A1 - OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
The Thombox and the accessories provided are designed for indoor use only, apart from the
external siren.
• Install the Thombox somewhere that it can be connected to the Internet via a high-speed
wired connection (512 kbit per second minimum, modem or router with at least one
available Ethernet port).
• When drilling, ensure that you do not damage hidden pipes or electric cables.
• The electrical installation must meet current standards and should be performed by a
qualified person.
• Do not expose the Thombox or its accessories to direct sunlight.
• Do not install the Thombox in locations with high humidity and/or extreme temperatures, or
where there is a risk that the equipment may be exposed to dust.
• Do not install the Thombox in cold locations or locations subject to large temperature
fluctuations.
• Never obstruct the Thombox's ventilation holes.
• Never cover the device.
• Do not daisy-chain extension cords and/or multi-socket adapters.
• Do not install near acidic chemicals, ammonia or sources of toxic gasses.
• Do not install in explosive environments or near volatile or inflammable products.
• Never put objects containing water on top of the device.
• Make sure that the device and its power supply are well ventilated.
• Test the smoke detector once a week by pressing the TEST button.
• A smoke detector does not prevent fires.
• Prepare an evacuation plan for the building beforehand.
• Effective protection will probably require several smoke detectors.
• WARNING: the detector included in this kit does not detect heat, gas or flames.
• This product emits an audible signal when it detects smoke. It is therefore totally standalone. It also has a radio function which allows it to warn the Thombox provided.
• The battery module's USB port is designed only for inserting the 3G key supplied. We
strongly recommend against using it for any other purpose.
• The battery module is intended as a backup power supply for the Thombox and is designed
to provide access to the mobile network in the case of a power cut or network outage. To
retain an Internet connection, a data-type SIM card (not included) is required.
• The cameras must not be installed where the lens filter may be vulnerable to scratching and
dirt.
• The camera is not designed for outside installation and should not be installed in locations
that are subject to extremes of humidity or temperature.
• Do not expose the camera lens to direct sunlight or any reflected light source.
• Do not unscrew the camera lens completely.
• The installation and use of the camera must comply with local laws.

Disposing of used batteries in the household waste is strictly forbidden. Batteries/
accumulators containing harmful substances are marked with symbols (shown
opposite) which indicate that it is forbidden to discard them in the household
waste. The corresponding heavy metal designations are as follows: Cd = cadmium,
Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. You can dispose of these batteries/accumulators at
local recycling amenities (centres for sorting recyclable materials) which are required to accept
them. Keep batteries/button cells/accumulators out of reach of children and store them in a
safe place not accessible to them as they could be swallowed by children or domestic animals.
May be fatal if swallowed.
In the event that a battery is swallowed, consult a doctor or go to A&E immediately. Never
short-circuit the batteries, and do not burn or recharge them as they may explode!

For optimum protection, install a detector in each room.
For minimum protection install one detector per floor, preferably in corridors
and stairwells.
Switch on the smoke detector alarm (see TEST mode) in the place you
intend to install it and check that you can hear it in every bedroom with the door
shut and a radio on.
The volume of the radio should be set to a level corresponding to a relatively
loud conversation. If you cannot hear it due to the radio, it is highly likely
that your alarm would not be loud enough to wake someone who is asleep.

In general, to avoid false alarms, smoke detectors should not be installed:
• In the garage (combustion residues are present when the car is started).
• In the kitchen (parasite smoke generated by hobs, oven, etc.).
• In front of heating installations or in front of a ceiling fan or other zones where
air circulates.
• In very humid areas or in bathrooms with a bath or
shower. The steam and humidity may cause false alarms.
• In dusty areas. Dust particles can trigger false alarms
or even stop the smoke detector from sounding an alarm.

H3 - ASSISTANCE AND ADVICE
• If, in spite of the care we have taken in designing our products and drafting these instructions,
you do encounter difficulties when installing your product or you have any questions, we
urge you to contact one of our specialists who will be glad to help.
• If you encounter operating problems during the installation or a few days afterwards, it is
essential that you are in front of your installation when contacting us, so that one of our
technicians can diagnose the source of the problem, as it will probably be the result of a
setting that is incorrect or an installation that is not to specification. If the problem is caused
by the product itself, the technician will give you an RMA number so that you can return the
unit to the shop.
Without this RMA number, the shop may refuse to exchange your product.
