The VSky H3970 4U 70 bay ultra-dense storage server is designed for a cloud
appliance and scale-out storage that would need high availability, high
throughput and large storage capacity.
With 2 server nodes in one enclosure with a 70 disk pool, the VSky H3970 has 3
hardware configurations for different cloud scenarios. For higher computing
needs with large disk capacity, you can deploy the VSky H3970 as 35-35 mode
which is two independent servers in one enclosure in which each server owns a
35 disk pool. For high availability, the VSky H3970 can be configured as 70-70
mode in which two server nodes share the 70 disk pool. Additionally, the VSky
H3970 can also support one server node with a 70 disk pool for cold storage or
as a backup appliance.
To address the need of high availability, most of the VSky H3970 main
components are designed as redundant and hot-swappable, including the server
node of 70-70 mode, power supply and HDD.
Economic Benefits
Deploying the VSky H3970 not only provides large storage capacity, higher
networking throughput, lower installation cost of cabling and rack space, but it
can also dramatically reduce electricity cost compared to deploying a traditional
2U storage server for cloud scenarios with the same 70 disk capacity.
