Configuration for Diagnostic and Programming
By adding the CAN bus Y connector to the CAN
bus cable assembly we can “tap” into the bus
communication and check the status of the Intellinder
reader and quality of the bar code image.
to provide diagnostic information of your positioning
system. It also provides the user flexibility to change the
output type from Voltage (0-10 V) to Current (4-20 mA)
and vice versa. Zero and Span are also available for
adjustment with the use of this accessory.

Upon Power-up the above display we be active on the
MD3 Programming unit. The bar coded position data
will be displayed in the Position Value Field . Units
are in “inch”, with a resolution of 0.001". You may “zero”
the display by pressing the F2 key . Please note: This
will not zero your analog out, it will only zero the display.
This value (offset) is retained in memory and will display
the offset position value when power is toggled. This
field reads the value of the cylinder position over the
CAN, we will discuss zeroing the analog output later in
this document.
Image Quality : This bar represents the quality of the
bar code etched on the cylinder rod.
States are:
“Good”, green bar, text, signal at high strength.
“Medium” yellow bar, text, lower signal strength, no
errors encountered.
“Fair” amber bar, text, some errors detected, but
corrected by sensor.
“Critical” red bar, text, errors present positional data
suspect.
Output type : The configuration of Analog Output
module is displayed. Voltage output (0-10 V) or Current
(4-20 mA) are the  offerings. To refresh this value,
press the OK button .
Lock : Analog output module and Intellinder reader
set up and configuration screens are pin code protected.
Pressing the F4 button will prompt user to enter pin
code.

Use the Up & Down arrow
button to enter pin code.
Default Pin Code is 1111
After proper pin code is
entered, you will notice the
unit is Unlocked  and the
Set Mode F3 key is now
active .
After 1 minute the program
lock will be reset.
The program will allow you
to stay on the appropriate
configuration page, when
returned to home screen
application will be locked.

2HX Code: Ordering code for the Intellinder
configuration.
When entering into setup mode, special attention should
be made to the control of the cylinder. This screen
will allow the user to change the output of the Analog
Module. This will result in sudden jumps in output,
precaution needs to be considered if output controls the
motion of the cylinder.
 Home Screen: Will return to home page.
 Update Time: Set the Intellinder reader to maximum
update time. If reader is replaced it is recommended to
optimize update time, by pressing the F2 key.
 Section displays current setting:
 Zero/Span: Allow user to set desired zero and span
output to appropriate cylinder position.
Update Time: Time in mS that the reader produces
data.
Zero Value: Raw cylinder position value in inch units
at which the minimum output value is set. On voltage
units, it is set to “0”, on Current output units it is set to 4
mA. Note: For reverse acting outputs, this value may be
larger than Maximum.
Max Value: Raw cylinder position value in inch units
at which the maximum output value is set. On voltage
units, it is set to “10”, on Current output units it is set to
20 mA. Note: For reverse acting outputs, this value may
be lower than Minimum.
Style: Output configuration, Either Voltage or Current.
Note: Pressing the “OK” button  will refresh the setting.
 Analog Type: Allows user to change output type
Voltage or Current style.

The F2 key  will toggle
the desired setting option.
When the desired setting 
is displayed, pressing the
F3 key , will prompt the
operator to confirm change.

On the Intellinder Setup
