Fermio WG v2
Gateway Fermio WG belongs to a family of industrial devices Fermio designed by 3City Electronics for
the purpose of serving as Network Gateways in various industrial solutions and the IoT sector (Internet
of Things). Fermio WG is designed as an universal device for communication management with various
interfaces: LTE, 3G, Ethernet and RS-485.
The central element of the router is the Intel®Quark™ processor dedicated to industrial (embedded)
and IoT applications. All the electronic elements comply with the highest environmental requirements
and allow to work in a wide scope of temperatures ranging from -20°C to +50°C (with additional heat
sink: -20°C to +70°C) and humidity up to 95% without condensation of water vapor.
The logic of Fermio WG operations is based on the program defined functionality, which has resulted
in high configuration flexibility and the universality of the device. Equipped with LINUX, a stable system
operating within x86 architecture which allows for simple and fast software development. Applications
can be created and tested on standard home PCs with processors working on x86 architecture and
easily implemented into the target device. The efficient INTEL processor and large amount of RAM and
Flash memory provide suitable work environment even for high demanding software. Both
OpenSource applications and dedicated software can be applied to the operating system.
Software defined functionalities allow for easy management of network services and enable dynamic
response to changes in terms of the architecture and scale of the infrastructure. The use of IPSec
protocol ensures safe, encrypted communication with remote systems when conducted via untrusted
network. The support for RADIUS protocol allows for centralized authorization of devices. The
integrated Firewall assists in communication monitoring and protecting the device from threats
initiated in LAN and WAN networks. The support for IEEE 802.1X protocol ensures communication
safety within LAN and allows for the detection of replacement or manipulation on the level of
peripheral devices.
The support for standard protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, SNMP, MQTT) allows for an easy integration with
various IT systems. Thanks to the openness of protocols, Fermio WG can be used for IT systems
development without the necessity of dedicated interfaces and support from producer's developers.
The use of latest INTEL processors dedicated to embedded applications guarantees a 10-year
availability of components and dedicated support from Intel Corporation specialists. Supply stability
and the quality of used components allow for the development of reliable solutions and long warranty
