SAFERUN® consists of two components, the transducer
SAFERUN® CMS-T and the can system SAFERUN® CMS-S. The
­sensor ­in­te­grat­ed in the can measures the pump power, speed
and ­temperature of the pump at the operating point. The sensor
is i­nstalled protected in the double can and so a material selection
of the measuring probe tip can be dispensed with in the case of
aggressive fluids.

The current operating point is visualised at the installation site
by the SAFERUN® transducer with traffic-light LEDs. The
­measurements and operating data are also stored in a data
memory (“History log”) for later analysis. Other pump-specific
data, e.g. operating hour counter, can be displayed by
using a PDA. SAFERUN® is completely assembled
at Richter and parameterised for the respective pump.

Function
The pump power is compared with the performance curve
allowing for the current speed and the condition is displayed
by the traffic-light LEDs and output via a 4-20 mA signal.
All mea­surements can also be indicated via HART. The HART
signals can be converted into analog 4-20 mA by means of a
HART loop con­verter installed in the control cabinet.
When SAFERUN® is used as a temperature monitor in accordance
with ATEX, the temperature signal, instead of the power signal, can
be indicated as a 4-20 mA signal.
All operating data are also stored in the History log in the
SAFERUN® transducer and are also available without power.

Parameterisation
SAFERUN® is parameterised at Richter with
the fluid data from the pump data sheet and
is immediately ready for operation in the plant.
If the pump is used as a process pump with
fluctuating fluid properties, the pump can be
simply parameterised again using the PDA
after the initial run-in phase.

Data is exchanged with the SAFERUN® using the PDA
and the RFID interface. The stored data permit an accurate analysis of the operating data at any time and support the operator with the optimisation of the application.
Equally, pump-specific data, e.g. operating hours and
energy consumption, can be read out. Naturally, the limit
values set as well as fluid data for optimum monitoring
can be adapted in the case of process pumps.
