Owner and users of mobile plant equipment face a myriad of challenges in relation to managing their fleet to ensure
they are getting the return on the investment they have made. Utilisation, damage, efficiency and safety are all critical
information that fleet users require to make decisions when managing their fleet. The Earthtrack® Fleet Management
System is designed to provide mobile plant owners with timely information to assist them manage their fleet each day
in a safe and efficient manner.
The Earthtrack Fleet Management system is a machine bases system. It is designed to interface into a machine,
collect and forward machine and operational data to a secure data base and then to a user web-based interactive
dash board. The system is not designed to be a dispatch system but to assist machine owners and operators in
managing their mobile mining equipment.
The Earthtrack Fleet Management system can also include the Earthtrack Payload application. The two apps work side
by side within the Earthtrack display. Operators can interact with both applications from the display with data sent to
the web-based dashboard for reporting..

COMMON QUESTIONS AND ANSWER
QUESTION
TYPICAL RESPONSE
1
What are the features and benefits of the
Please refer to the website via this link.
Earthtrack® Fleet Management solution?
2
Will the solution suit both underground
and surface mines, and why?
Yes - The hardware is universal and can be installed to any make or model of mobile equipment and is part of RCT's offer in remote
guidance packages. The issue underground with EFM is its dependence on communications medium available i.e. does the mine have a
Wi-Fi network and how much of the operation is covered by the network? The machine data can only be as live as its last connection to
the cloud.
3
Is the EFM capable of real-time & neartime results or both? What are the
requirements needed for each situation?
Yes, the system is capable of real-time results but it is dependent on the network availability. There are no specific requirements, the
hardware is always looking for connection to the cloud via WiFi or cellular.
4
What type of communication network
capabilitiy is needed at the mine site?
(cellular, WiFi, etc..)
The system simply requires an internet connection WiFi, cellular or a combination of both. If large amount of machine data is required or a
store & forward option is, WiFi is by far the best option as it allows the machines to dump large amounts of data via into a hot-spot that
has storage capabilities which essentially trickles the data out over the cellular network.
5
Will the system's hardware suit all types
of machines and why? What equipment
can the supplier support with EFM?
Any make, model or style of mobile equipment 12VDC - 48VDC
6
What type of support does the supplier
provide in monitoring, troubleshooting &
fixing the network?
RCT will ensure our systems are compatable and communicating over the network. We will be able to supply trouble shooting that will
determine if the system or the unit are at fault of if it's a communication issue occuring.
7
What type of support does the provider
At present all back end support is based at head office in Perth, Western Australia with an online support ticket system that is 24/7, phone
supply for the solution. (location, hours of
support is also available. Machine integration and hardware support is covered by the local RCT branch.
operation, etc. of support team.)
8
What type of reports can be generated
from the EFM?
Custom reports can cover both machines and operators can be run over specific dates or days, weeks and months going back over the
previous 12 months (older data is available upon request). Email alerts, subscription reports can be emailed daily, weekly or monthly at a
specific time of the day.
9
What are the standard reports &
dashboards? Can dashboards &
reports be customised by the user, or
by an administrator/super user within
Carmeuse?
There are basic chart reports on the dashboard when the user first logs in. These may be added to or removed at any time by the user
and are only limited to how far the user wants to scroll down the screen. The dashboard is a fully configurable charting system, all data
can be combined added/removed and viewed in any style of chart the user prefers. All charts may be emailed instantly, sent via email
subscriptions or exported as PDF or csv. A user can email or send subscription reports or dashboard charts to any valid email address.
10
Are there default dashboard reports on
login, or do they have to be selected by
the user?
There will be default dashboard reports, the user can customise this to their login.
11
Is there an in-cab monitor for the
operator? What information does this
provided to the operator?
Yes, every system requires an in-cab display as it is the operator's interface into EFM for pre-start check lists, idle time status and out of
service and service requests. It is the technician's interface for onsite diagnostics and commissioning also. Will display message of the
day, basic SMS capabilities and also notifies the user of any available updates.
12
Do operators need to log in to their
heavy equipment?
Yes, a login is required for pre-start checklists, idle time statuses and out of service features.
13
Can the system tie into an onsite
reporting system? What information
can be transferred and does the supplier
offer an integration solution between
the software supplied and the onsite
system?
Data can be set over ETL or API for the and user to import into the reporting system they are utilising on site. Consultation between the
site and RCT on the mechanism will be required.
14
Does EFM require software updates
& how is this action performed & how
often?
Yes, improvements and updates are carried out regularly in the background. The timeframe is dependent on the nature of the update,
however, most often there's no notification to the end-user. The only instance the end-user may be notified is if the operating system
requires an update that could affect machine availability (to date this has not been required).
15
Who verifies data that is uploaded by the The data is verifed as part of the upload process. There is a notification before update is carried out, the user maybe required to verify
supplier?
before update ocurs.
16
Where is the information collected &
stored? What are the options? What
level of support does the supplier offer
for internal/external data storage?
EarthTrack® runs on a secure data base located in Australia. If a local server is required, RCT will investigate with the customer on the
process for a local server. Data is kept by RCT for 7 years, at the end of that period the option is given to the user to have that data
provided for them to manage, or it is discarded.
17
What online support do clients have
available to them?
The EarthTrack® website has a help section, complete with induction videos, training tracking and learning management. This is
available to anyone with a valid login.
18
What is the hardware & software
installation requirements?
The EFM hardware requires a competent technician or tradesman to carry out installation onto a machine. No software is required as
EarthTrack® is accessed via a web browser.
19
Do you have your own proprietary
hardware? If not, what comapany's
hardware will you be using?
The hardware is designed and developed by RCT.
20
What is the availability of spare parts/
hardware (lead time and physical
location)?
Critical spare parts can be held by the customer to assist in fast turnaround on failures. All hardware will be held at RCT's branch so the
lead time is only limited by the freight method.
21
Portability of the hardware - can it be
transferred?
Yes
22
Is hardware expected to have 100%
availability?
Yes
23
What will be done in case of equipment
It is recommended the site holds critical spares if the system is integral to their operations. The online support team will be able to
failure? (repair, loaner equipment in
determine the type of failure and action required. If units are required to be repaired they should be directed to the local RCT branch for
inventory on site, replace, response time) evaluation.
24
What warranties are available?
Please refer to the website via this link.
25
Does RCT currently have any customers
utilising the Earthtrack® information
solution?
RCT has been delivering information systems for the past 10 years with more than 4000 units in the field. The EarthTrack® solution is
part of a full information suite; suitable for mining machine applications. At present the largest single fleet with an RCT information system
installed is 180. (Please refer to marketing for any articles or case studies).
