Product data
is a compact unit in two sizesthat requires minimal
space. Compact dimensions and low sound data provide great flexibility in the location of the unit. Its attractive design also adds to the flexibility of location.

Unit Description -– design
Casing
Fan
The unit is made of galvanized sheet steel and the outside is painted white. The casing is insulated with 25 mm
of mineral wool.
Inspection doors for fans, filter and rotor have handles
and locks.
The unit is supplied on a stable base which can be fitted
with feet.
– Corrosion class C3
– Seal CEN class L3 (CEN class A)
We chose the fan for TopMaster to give you top performance and overall economy combined with low noise
levels. The fan is a single inlet radial fan with forward
curved blades. It is driven by a DC motor with integrated electronics, which establishes a constant flow in the
unit within the work area.
The desired flow is controlled by the unit’s control
system.
Components in the casing
Filter
Supply and extract air filters made of fibreglass. Filter
class F5 on the extract air side and F7 on the supply air
side. The filters are pressed against the sealing strip in
the casing.
Integrated heater
Heater battery for hot water or electricity are built-into
the unit. The desired supply air temperature is controllled by the unit’s control system.
Water heater
The air heater for water heating is made of copper pipes
and aluminium fins. Pipe connection Ø15.
Frost protection sensor is included in the control equipment. Max. operating pressure 1.6 MPa.
Rotary heat exchanger
The rotor is made of non-hygroscopic aluminium
equipped with purging sector and rotation monitor.
During normal comfort ventilation there is no need for
defrosting. When relative humidity in the extract air
exceeds 30% and the outdoor temperature is lower than
–15 °C there is a risk of freezing. Check the need for
defrosting with Fläkt Woods AB.

Electric heater
Electric heater with integrated control equipment for
power control. Heater element in stainless steel. The
heater is equipped with 2 thermal overload protection
devices, one with automatic and one with manual reset.

Air cooler, water, for duct mounting,

Duct silencer, RDLD
The silencer is a straight circular duct silencer with 100
mm rock wool filling. The duct connections are fitted
with rubber ring seals.
The silencer consists of a perforated pipe surrounded by
a mantel and ends made of hot dip galvanized sheet
steel. The area between is filled with rock wool which is
covered by a fibre sheet to prevent the fibres from loosening. Fire class EI30.
Connection straight section 300 mm from fan outlet.
Air cooler for cold water, copper pipes and aluminium
fins.
The air cooler is built into a hot dip galvanized sheet
steel casing with 9 mm insulation. The casing has a
removable hatch for cleaning and duct connections
with rubber ring seals. The air cooler is installed so that
the distance to the fan or bend before the cooler is at least
600 mm. The cooler is only available in a left-hand
version. Bleeding and draining is carried out via the
pipe system. The pipe connection, positioned on the
outlet end, is flat and intended for clamp connection.
The drainage trough is made of stainless steel, connection R 1/2 ”.

Damper for duct mounting. Seal class 3 (CEN 3) The
damper is made of hot dip galvanized sheet steel and
fitted with an on/off actuator with spring return. The
damper actuator is connected to the electrical cabinet
via a quick connector.
The damper has a duct connection with a rubber ring
seal and can be mounted directly to the unit or in the
duct. The design is suitable for duct insulation of up to
50 mm.
The sound power level while completely open is
below 20 dB at airspeeds below 10 m/s.

External wall cover for outdoor air and extract air, for
wall mounting.
This prevents leakage between the two air flows.
The cover is made of black plastic-coated sheet metal
and consists of a wall plate, wall cover, front panel. The
front panel is detachable and can be turned over.

control equipment. All internal components are pre
connected and the unit is factory tested.
The control equipment for TopMaster is developed with
the intention that it should be as easy as possible to use,
install and monitor.
The control equipment communicates using the
Modbus protocol alternative Lon Works .

Flow control
Night purging (free cooling)
The fans in TopMaster are constant flow fans. This
means that they give a preset air flow within their
operating area regardless of the pressure of the unit.
Three different set point values, min, normal and
max flow, are set for the supply air fan and the
extract air fan.
Three set points for each fan allow connection of fan
speed to clock, timer, push button and occupancy
detector.
Function: maintaining flow in the duct system.
The Night purging setting is used during the summer
half of the year. Cold outdoor air can be used to cool
down the premises cool the premises at night. Used
outside ordinary operating time.
Function: When the room temperature exceeds the set
limit value and the outdoor temperature exceeds the set
limit value and the difference between the limit values
exceeds the set difference, the unit is started to cool the
premises using fresh outdoor air. The cooler is not activated.
Pressure control
Night heating
The control board for the fans can be reset for constant
pressure control. The fans in TopMaster then give a
constant preset pressure and flow within their operation area.
Night heating is used to prevent the premises from
being cooled during the night outside the normal operating time.
Function: The unit starts for full heat recovery and
opens for full effect from the air heater if the room
temperature falls below the set value.
Extended and forced operation via timer
Timer for external or flush mounting.
Setting 0–2 hours.
Function: Starts the unit at the desired air flow or change of air flow.
Cooling recovery
Function: Starts the rotary heat exchanger at full heat
recovery for cooling the supply air, when the exhaust air
temperature is lower than the outdoor air temperature
and there is a need for cooling.
Temperature control
The following alternatives are available for control
functions:
Outdoor temperature compensation
(summer and winter compensation)
Supply air control
Function: Shifts the set point for the supply air, exhaust
air or room temperature.
Function: Maintaining the temperature in the supply air
duct at the set point.
Extract air control
Function: Maintaining the extract air temperature in the
extract air duct at the set point value via cascade control
of the supply air temperature with min. and max.
restriction.
Room control
Function: Maintaining the temperature in the premises
at the set point value via cascade control of the supply
air temperature with min. and max. restriction.

Controlling the air heater
Fire protection system
Control signal 0-10 V for valve actuator or electric air
heater with built-in thyristor. Frost protection: When
the unit is not in operation the water temperature is
maintained at 25 °C. During operation the valve is
controlled so that the return temperature does not fall
below 12 °C. If the temperature falls below 5 °C the unit
stops and an alarm is triggered.
Afire protection system can be connected to the unit.
Function: Stops the unit and buzzer.
Circulation pump for air heater
Max. current approx 2 A, 1-phase 230 V. Maintenance
operation carried out via the control cabinet.
Gives an alarm if the pressure drop over the relevant
filter exceeds the set value. Not to be used in combination with the flow monitor or control of cooling coil.
Valve actuator for air heater
Flow monitor
Valve actuator suitable for valves with 5.5 mm lift height
and thread G 3/4".
Stops the unit and gives an alarm in the event of low
flow. Not to be used in combination with the filter monitor or control of cooling coil.
