SERVICE INSTRUCTION 3-speed hub SG-3S30-c Trigger lever S L-3S20 For proper and safe performance, read and follow these instructions carefully 69 SHIMANO E Operation Notes e Trigger lever operation is easier when the pedal force is reduced. e Never put your foot on the bell crank part. E How to Use the Trigger Lever Lever shifting position Riding conditions When starting / gravel roads or bumpy roads / Uphill slopes/when carrying a heavy load / When facing the wind When riding on a level surface [2] [3] To ride fast Bell Crank Installation Check the length of the exposed part of the hub axle and of the push rod (at the installation side). Hub nut Hub axle | | Note: Measure the exposed part of the push rod after turning the pedals two or three times in the | forward direction. The exposed part of the push rod may become | shorter when the pedals are | turned in the reverse direction. | Approx. 12mm (15/32") ( Set Bolt Type ) Set the adjusting bolt toward the cable adjusting nut direction, and insert the bell crank to the limit. Confirm that the hub axle reaches the end of the bell crank, by sighting through the inspection hole. Then tighten it by screwing the bell crank fixing bolt. Push rod 12mm (15/32") or more Cable adjusting nut ns bolt > NLG N a Leaf Then, tig hen Contact surface Tightening torque: 30—50kgfem (26—43in.lbs.) Inspection hole \ о Contacts here. Bell LC fixing bolt 9mm (11/32") wrench (Caliper Type ) After threading the bell crank on until contact, if the bell crank’s adjusting bolt is not aligned with the direction of the cable adjusting nut, loosen the bell crank in the counterclockwise direction so as to coincide with the direction of the cable, and then secure the bell crank by tightening the lock nut. Align with the cable adjusting nut direction. a Connection and adjustment of the cable Set the lever to the “2” position, and then thread the cable adjusting nut onto the adjusting bolt of the bell crank. Adjust so that the bell crank's (N) mark comes to the center of the hole.
