Bell Crank Installation
Check the length of the exposed part of the hub axle and of
the push rod (at the installation side). Hub nut

| Note: Measure the exposed part
of the push rod after turning the
pedals two or three times in the
| forward direction. The exposed
part of the push rod may become
| shorter when the pedals are
| turned in the reverse direction. |
Approx. 12mm (15/32")
( Set Bolt Type )
Set the adjusting bolt toward the cable adjusting nut direction,
and insert the bell crank to the limit. Confirm that the hub axle
reaches the end of the bell crank, by sighting through the
inspection hole. Then tighten it by screwing the bell crank
fixing bolt.

After threading the bell crank on until contact, if the bell crank’s
adjusting bolt is not aligned with the direction of the cable
adjusting nut, loosen the bell crank in the counterclockwise
direction so as to coincide with the direction of the cable, and
then secure the bell crank by tightening the lock nut.

Connection and adjustment of the cable
Set the lever to the “2” position, and then thread the
cable adjusting nut onto the adjusting bolt of the bell
crank. Adjust so that the bell crank's (N) mark comes
to the center of the hole. After making the adjustment,
secure the cable adjusting nut by tightening the lock
nut.
