PURPOSE

The RS-1-0,5, speed controller, hereinafter referred to as “controller”, is intended for switching on/off and for smooth control of the rotation speed of VENTS domestic fans.

WARNING! To avoid damage to the fan, it is strictly forbidden to operate the device with an incorrectly set minimum fan speed.

- Put on the decorative cover and tighten the fastening nut.

- Put on the control handle.

MOUNTING AND CONNECTION OF THE ELECTRICAL

EQUIPMENT SHOULD BE PERFORMED ONLY WHEN THE POWER

SUPPLY IS SWITCHED OFF.

ALL THE OPERATIONS WITH THE CONTROLLER MUST BE

PERFORMED BY QUALIFIED ELECTRICIANS WITH A WORK

PERMIT FOR ELECTRIC OPERATIONS AND AFTER CAREFUL

READING OF THE USER’S MANUAL.

ANY INTERNAL CONNECTION MODIFICATIONS ARE NOT

ALLOWED AND RESULT IN WARRANTY LOSS.

Not allowed:

-Operation of the controller with mechanical damage to the casing and connecting wires.

-Ingress of moisture and splashing water into the casing of the controller.

-Installation of the controller near heating devices.

-Presence of explosive and corrosive impurities in the ambient air.

Mounting:

The controller should be installed on a vertical wall indoors in a hidden mounting box. Connection to power mains must be carried out through a circuit breaker.

To connect the controller to power mains, follow the steps below:

- Remove the control knob of the controller (1).

- Unscrew the nut (2) fastening the decorative cover and remove the decorative cover (3).

- Unscrew the screws (4) fastening the controller to the mounting box, and remove the controller (5).

- Lead the connecting wires into the mounting box (6).

- Install the mounting box into the wall.

- Strip the ends of the wires to a length of 6-7 mm.

- Connect the wires to the terminal block located on the controller board according to the wiring diagram (Fig. 3) and the label on the terminal block.

- Install the controller in the mounting box so that the terminal block

(see Fig. 2) is located on top, and fix it with screws.

For normal operation of the fan, it is necessary to adjust the minimum fan speed.

To adjust the minimum speed, do the following:

- Turn the control knob counterclockwise to the extreme position, leaving the controller in turned on state (but not until it clicks).

- Supply power.

- Using a screwdriver with an insulated handle, rotate the potentiometer slider

(see Fig. 2), bringing the fan speed to the minimum.

- Change the controller position to OFF (rotate counterclockwise until the switch clicks), wait for the fan to stop rotating.

- Turn on the controller to the minimum speed, the fan should rotate steadily at the minimum speed.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Possible reasons

The controller does not work.

Limited or no connection.

The fuse is broken.

The fan does not rotate when the controller is on.

The minimum fan speed is not set correctly.

Troubleshooting

Check the correctness of connection to power mains

(see section «Mounting»).

Replace the fuse.

Type – fusible tubular (5x20)

– 3.15 A.

Adjust the minimum fan speed.

STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION REGULATIONS

Store the unit in the manufacturer’s original packing box in a dry closed ventilated premise with temperature range from +5 °C to + 40 °C.

Storage environment must not contain aggressive vapours and chemical mixtures provoking corrosion, insulation, and sealing deformation.

Use suitable hoist machinery for handling and storage operations to prevent possible damage to the unit.

Follow the handling requirements applicable for the particular type of cargo.

The unit can be carried in the original packaging by any mode of transport provided proper protection against precipitation and mechanical damage.

Avoid sharp blows, scratches, or rough handling during loading and unloading.

MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY

The manufacturer hereby warrants normal operation of the unit for 12 months after the retail sale date provided the user’s observance of the transportation, storage, installation, and operation regulations.

Should any malfunctions occur in the course of the unit operation through the Manufacturer’s fault during the guaranteed period of operation the user is entitled to elimination of faults by the manufacturer by means of warranty repair at the factory free of charge.

The warranty repair shall include work specific to elimination of faults in the unit operation to ensure its intended use by the user within the guaranteed period of operation.

The faults are eliminated by means of replacement or repair of the unit components or a specific part of such unit component.

The warranty repair does not include:

• routine technical maintenance

• unit installation/dismantling

• unit setup

To benefit from warranty repair the user must provide the unit, the user’s manual with the purchase date stamp and the payment document certifying the purchase.

The unit model must comply with the one stated in the user’s manual.

The manufacturer’s warranty does not apply to the following cases:

• External damage to the unit casing (excluding external modifications as required for installation) and internal components caused by the user.

• Redesign or engineering changes to the unit.

• Replacement and use of any assemblies, parts and components not approved by the manufacturer.

• Unit misuse.

• Violation of the unit installation regulations by the user.

• Violation of the unit control regulations by the user.

• Unit connection to power mains with a voltage different from the one stated in the user’s manual.

• Unit breakdown due to voltage surges in power mains.

• Discretionary repair of the unit by the user.

• Unit repair by any persons without the manufacturer’s authorization.

• Expiration of the unit warranty period.

• Violation of the unit transportation regulations by the user.

• Violation of the unit storage regulations by the user.

• Wrongful actions against the unit committed by third parties.

• Unit breakdown due to circumstances of insuperable force (fire, flood, earthquake, war, hostilities of any kind, blockades).

• Missing seals if provided by the user’s manual.

• Failure to submit the user’s manual with the unit purchase date stamp.

• Missing payment document certifying the unit purchase.

THE UNIT.

USERS’ WARRANTY CLAIMS SHALL BE SUBJECT TO

REVIEW ONLY UPON PRESENTATION OF THE UNIT, THE

PAYMENT DOCUMENT AND THE USER’S MANUAL WITH

THE PURCHASE DATE STAMP.

DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO OPERATE THE UNIT.

THE UNIT IS ALLOWED TO BE USED BY CHILDREN AGED

FROM 8 YEARS OLDAND ABOVE AND PERSONS WITH

REDUCED PHYSICAL, SENSORY, OR MENTAL

CAPABILITIES OR NO EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

PROVIDED THAT THEY HAVE BEEN GIVEN

SUPERVISION OR INSTRUCTION REGARDING SAFE USE

OF THE UNIT AND UNDERSTAND THE RISKS INVOLVED.

THE PRODUCT MUST BE DISPOSED SEPARATELY AT THE END

OF ITS SERVICE LIFE.
