REPLACE HYDRAULIC ACCESSORY PUMP

SHEAVE:

1. Remove the hex screw holding the pump V--belt compression spring (yellow) to the pivot bracket.

Remove the tension spring. Refer to Fig. 4.

2. Remove the V--belt from the pump sheave. Refer to Fig. 4.

3. Remove the hex screw holding the cast pivot bracket to the engine bracket. Refer to Fig. 4.

4. Pull the accessory pump/pivot bracket assembly back away from the engine.

DO NOT disconnect the hydraulic hoses leading to the accessory pump.

Refer to Fig. 4.

5. Loosen the two set screws holding the existing pump sheave to the accessory pump. Remove and discard the old sheave.

6. Position the new pump sheave (1) onto the pump shaft without the set screws (2) installed in the sheave.

Make sure the key is installed on the pump shaft.

Refer to Fig. 4.

7. Position the accessory pump/pivot bracket assembly onto the engine mount bracket. Reinstall the pivot bolt. Tighten the bolt enough so the pivot casting does not wobble--yet still rotates freely.

Refer to Fig. 4.

8. Apply a small amount of Loctite 242 to the threads of the tension spring bolt. Refer to Fig. 4.

9. Reinstall the yellow compression spring and hex screw. Leave the hex screw loose. Refer to Fig. 4.

10. Install the V--belt onto the new pump sheave (1).

Refer to Fig. 4.

11. Align the new sheave (1) with the engine sheave.

Refer to Fig. 4.

12. Tighten the hex screw until the yellow compression spring is 1.5” in height. Refer to Fig. 4.

13. Check the alignment of the sheave (1) with the engine sheave (within 0.020”). Refer to Fig. 4.

NOTE: DO NOT attempt to move new pump sheave

(1) while compression spring is tightened to 1.5”.

Loosen compression spring before aligning sheave.

14. If the sheave (1) needs to be moved, loosen the tension on the yellow compression spring, move the sheave, and retighten the yellow compression spring to 1.5”.

15. Recheck the alignment of the sheave (1) with the engine sheave. This may need to be repeated several times until the sheave is aligned with the engine sheave (within 0.020”). Refer to Fig. 4.

16. Apply a small amount of Loctite 242 to the threads of the two set screw holes in the sheave (1). Refer to Fig. 4.

17. Hand tighten the two set screws (2) into the sheave (1) . Refer to Fig. 4.
