INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing this CLARKE Worklight.

Before attempting to use this product, please read this manual thoroughly and follow the instructions carefully. In doing so you will ensure the safety of yourself and that of others around you, and you can look forward to your purchase giving you long and satisfactory service.

GUARANTEE

This product is guaranteed against faulty manufacture for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt which will be required as proof of purchase.

This guarantee is invalid if the product is found to have been abused or tampered with in any way, or not used for the purpose for which it was intended.

Faulty goods should be returned to their place of purchase, no product can be returned to us without prior permission. This guarantee does not effect your statutory rights.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

1. Do not use this worklight in hazardous locations, such as flammable or explosive environments.

2. If used with an extension cable always ensure that the extension cable is fully unwound.

3. Check that the power supply is compatable with the worklight as indicated on the label. We recommend that a Residual Current Device

(RCD) is used in conjunction with this product.

4. Do not use this worklight if it has a broken lens, casing or damaged supply cable. Have parts replaced by a qualified electrician.

5. Always ensure trailing cables do not cause a risk of tripping etc or pass over sharp edges/objects.

6. Before moving your worklight or replacing a broken part, always ensure that the power supply is disconnected at the mains.

7. Do not look directly into the lamp when switched on as this can damage the eyes.

8. This unit must not be immersed in water.

9. Do not move your worklight or replace lamps or broken parts with wet hands, or when standing on a wet or damp surface or in water. Always ensure the power supply is disconnected at the mains.

10. Please read all of the safety and operating instructions carefully before using this product. The following safety symbols may be found on the product.

Read this instruction booklet carefully before use.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS

WARNING! Read these electrical safety instructions thoroughly before connecting the product to the mains supply.

Before switching the product on, make sure that the voltage of your electricity supply is the same as that indicated on the rating plate. This product is designed to operate on

230VAC 50Hz. Connecting it to any other power source may cause damage.

This product may be fitted with a non-rewireable plug. If it is necessary to change the fuse in the plug, the fuse cover must be refitted. If the fuse cover becomes lost or damaged, the plug must not be used until a suitable replacement is obtained.

If the plug has to be changed because it is not suitable for your socket, or due to damage, it should be cut off and a replacement fitted, following the wiring instructions shown below. The old plug must be disposed of safely, as insertion into a mains socket could cause an electrical hazard .

WARNING! The wires in the power cable of this product are coloured in accordance with the following code:

Blue = Neutral Brown = Live

If the colours of the wires in the power cable of this product do not correspond with the markings on the terminals of your plug, proceed as follows.

• The wire which is coloured Blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked N or coloured Black .

• The wire which is coloured Brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked L or coloured Red .

Plug must be BS1363/A approved.

Always fit a 13 Amp fuse.

We strongly recommend that this machine is connected to the mains supply via a Residual Current Device (RCD)

If in any doubt, consult a qualified electrician. DO NOT attempt any repairs yourself.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

The worklight is supplied within a carry frame, which is assembled as follows:

Remove the locking screw from the base of the carry frame, then insert the tubular base into the frame attachment, as shown.

Line up the holes in the two sections of the frame then replace and tighten the fixing screw.

Use the fixing screw to adjust the angle of the worklight as required.

PARTS REPLACEMENT

Clean the lens at regular intervals using a non-abrasive glass cleaner.

Immediately replace a cracked or broken protective glass. Always use original parts for this which can be purchased from your Clarke Spares Department.

There are no other user serviceable parts inside the light. DO NOT disassemble the unit.

When re-assembling the lens assembly, ensuring the screws line up with the screw holes in the back of the lens, and gently tighten all screws. DO NOT force or overtighten. If the screws do not go back easily, remove and recheck the alignment.

ENVIRONMENTAL RECYCLING POLICY

Through purchase of this product, the customer is taking on the obligation to deal with the WEEE in accordance with the WEEE regulations in relation to the treatment, recycling & recovery and environmentally sound disposal of the WEEE.

In effect, this means that this product must not be disposed of with general household waste. It must be disposed of according to the laws governing

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) at a recognised disposal facility.
