ZONE 2 & RECORD ZONE VOLUME CONTROL

The front panel volume knob can now be used to adjust Main

Zone, Zone 2, and Record Zone volume levels.

To use the front panel volume knob to adjust Main Zone volume level, follow the

VOLUME -34dB same procedure as in previous software releases. Rotate the volume knob clockwise to increase or counterclockwise to decrease volume level. The horizontal bar graph shown at the right will appear on the on-screen and front panel displays. This graph illustrates the position at which the current Main Zone volume level falls within the entire volume range.

As in previous software releases, it is not required to press and hold front panel buttons to use the volume knob to adjust Main Zone volume level. The MC-12 automatically adjusts Main Zone volume level when no front panel buttons are pressed and held while the volume knob is rotated.

To use the front panel volume knob to adjust Zone 2 volume level:

1. Press and hold the front panel Zone 2 input selection button that corresponds with the current input source.

2. While pressing and holding the selected button, rotate the volume knob clockwise

ZONE2 VOLUME -34dB to increase or counterclockwise to decrease volume level. The horizontal bar graph shown at the right will appear on the on-screen and front panel displays.

This graph illustrates the position at which the current Zone 2 volume level falls within the entire volume range.

Zone volume level falls within the entire volume range.

3. Release the selected front panel Record Zone input selection button when Record Zone volume level has been set.

Note:

When the front panel volume knob is rotated, the

MC-12 will adjust Main Zone volume level when:

1. A front panel Main Zone input selection button is pressed and held.

2. No front panel Zone 2 or Record Zone input selection buttons are pressed and held.

3. A remote control input selection button is pressed and held. (Remote control input selection buttons cannot be used to select Zone 2 or Record Zone volume level adjustment, even when the ZONE or REC command bank is active.)

REVISED REMOTE CONTROL COMMAND MATRIX

This section explains the functions remote control buttons perform when each command bank is active. Remote control buttons are numbered in the remote control figures shown on pages 6 to 10. These numbers correspond to the numbered items in the matrix that begins below. New commands are marked with @@@ or @@@ to indicate the software version in which the command was introduced or revised. The matrix that begins below replaces the matrix that begins on page 2-9 of the MC-12 User Guide (Rev 1). Refer to the user guide for more information about the remote control.

Lexicon

ZONE2 IN or RECORD IN

(continued from page 11)

ANLG (Analog) DIGITAL DMIX (Downmix)

• The assigned analog audio input connector is sent to the ZONE 2 or

RECORD AUDIO OUTPUTS. The 5.1channel analog input connector is not compatible with the ZONE 2 or

RECORD AUDIO OUTPUTS.

• Audio is not available in Zone 2 or the Record Zone when the 5.1channel analog input connector is selected for the Main Zone, unless the 5.1a BYPASS listening mode is also selected for the Main Zone.

• Analog input sources are sent to all three RECORD AUDIO OUTPUTS.

Sources sent to the RECORD

AUDIO OUTPUT labeled S/PDIF are sent through A/D conversion before reaching the output. Sources sent to the analog ZONE 2 or RECORD

AUDIO OUTPUTS are not sent through A/D conversion.

• The assigned digital audio input connector is sent to the ZONE 2 or

RECORD AUDIO OUTPUTS.

• The ZONE 2 AUDIO OUTPUTS will mute when an invalid digital audio input source is present. PCM input sources are the only valid digital input sources. Dolby Digital and dts(-ES) are not valid digital input sources.

• Digital input sources are sent to all three RECORD AUDIO OUTPUTS at the same time. Sources sent to the analog ZONE 2 or RECORD AUDIO

OUTPUTS are sent through D/A conversion before reaching the output. Sources sent to the

RECORD AUDIO OUTPUT labeled

S/PDIF are not sent through D/A conversion.

• A downmixed version of Main Zone audio is sent to the ZONE 2 or RECORD AUDIO OUTPUTS.

Downmixes can be generated for Dolby Digital, dts(-ES), and 5.1-channel analog input sources.

• To generate a downmix, the input that is selected in

Zone 2 or the Record Zone must also be selected in the Main Zone. Otherwise, the ZONE 2 or RECORD

AUDIO OUTPUTS will mute.

• Main Zone listening mode selection affects the

ZONE 2 or RECORD AUDIO OUTPUTS. For example, when the MONO listening mode is selected in the

Main Zone, Zone 2 or Record Zone output signals will also be mono.

• Downmixes cannot be generated when the 5.1a

BYPASS listening mode is selected in the Main Zone.

• It is recommended to set the ZONE2 IN or RECORD

IN parameter to DMIX when recording from a DVD player without built-in Dolby Digital or dts-ES decoding to a VCR or PVR (e.g. Tivo® or Replay TV®).

• Independent zone monitoring is not available.

Note:

When a multi-channel input source is present and the playback component includes the appropriate decoder, it is recommended to set the ZONE2 IN or RECORD IN parameter to

ANLG for independent zone monitoring. When a multi-channel input source is present and the playback component does not include the appropriate decoder, it is required to set the

ZONE2 IN or RECORD IN parameter to DMIX. When this setting is selected, independent zone monitoring is not available.

12

CAUTION

When the ZONE2 IN or RECORD IN parameter is set to DIGITAL or ANLG, the

MC-12 recognizes some dts-encoded input sources as audio signals (not data signals) and outputs loud digital noise from the ZONE

2 or RECORD AUDIO OUTPUTS.

Selecting the SETUP menu TRIGGERS option prompts the selection of the desired TRIGGER OUTPUT connector. The MC-12 rear panel includes three 12V DC TRIGGER OUTPUT connectors, labeled

PWR, 1, and 2. The connector labeled PWR – the power TRIGGER OUTPUT connector – is not configurable. It is activated when the MC-12 is powered on and deactivated when the MC-12 is placed in standby or powered off. The connectors labeled 1 and 2 are configurable.

Selecting a TRIGGER OUTPUT connector on the menu shown above accesses the corresponding

TRIGGER SETUP menu shown at the right (TRIGGER 1 or 2 SETUP), which can be used to configure the connector for remote or program operation. The REMOTE ONLY parameter can be used to configure the selected TRIGGER OUTPUT connector for remote operation. All other parameters are referred to as program operation parameters, and can be used to configure the selected connector for program operation when the REMOTE ONLY parameter is set to OFF.

The TRIGGER 1 and 2 SETUP menus are shown at the right. The parameters on the right side of these menus are identical regardless of which connector is selected. The parameter values on the right side are adjustable. The TRIGGER 1 and 2 SETUP menus shown at the right indicate default parameter values for each connector.

TRIGGER SETUP Menu

(continued from page 13)

REMOTE ONLY

SETUP TRIGGERS TRIGGER 1 or 2

(ON, OFF)

REMOTE ONLY

Configures the selected TRIGGER OUTPUT connector for remote operation. When set to ON, the selected connector is configured for remote operation. It can be activated and deactivated with the remote control commands described on page 8. The MC-12 ignores all other TRIGGER 1 and 2 SETUP menu parameter settings.

Program operation parameters set to ON are not associated with the selected connector.

When set to OFF, the selected TRIGGER OUTPUT connector is not configured for remote operation, and can be configured for program operation.

Note:

The TRIGGER OUPUT connectors are deactivated when the MC-12 is placed into standby. However, when configured for remote operation, the connectors are not automatically activated when the MC-12 is powered on. Instead, the connectors must be activated with the remote control commands described on page 8.

PROGRAM OPERATION PARAMETERS

SETUP TRIGGERS TRIGGER 1 or 2 Parameter

(ON, OFF)

Configure the selected TRIGGER OUTPUT connector for program operation. With the exception of the REMOTE ONLY parameter, all

TRIGGER 1 and 2 SETUP menu parameters are program operation

14

Lexicon parameters. The REMOTE ONLY parameter must be set to OFF to configure the connector for program operation.

When the REMOTE ONLY parameter is set to OFF, the selected connector can be associated with Main Zone inputs and listening modes, Zone 2 input selection, and Record Zone input selection.

(Connectors cannot be associated with individual Zone 2 or Record

Zone inputs.) When the associated TRIGGER 1 or 2 SETUP menu input or listening mode parameter is set to ON, the selected connector is activated when the input or listening mode is selected and deactivated when the input or listening mode is deselected. When set to OFF, the selected connector is not configured for program operation.

NEW LISTENING MODES

New listening modes are available for 2-channel and 5.1-channel analog input sources. The 5.1-channel analog listening modes are not available when the REAR PANEL CONFIG menu 8 STEREO

INPUTS option is selected. These listening modes require the REAR

PANEL CONFIG menu 5 STEREO & 5.1 ANLG option to be selected so the 5.1-channel analog input connector can be used with A/D conversion and internal processing.

Selecting the MAIN MENU MODE ADJUST option accesses the

MODE ADJUST menu shown on the next page, which indicates listening modes that have been added or modified since Software

Version 1.0. The DOLBY Pro Logic listening modes have been renamed, and the DOLBY DIGITAL listening mode now includes EX decoding. The 5.1 BYPASS listening mode is now called 5.1a

BYPASS.

Descriptions of these new listening modes begin on the next page.

Other listening mode descriptions begin on page 5-2 of the MC-12

STATUS MENUS

@@@ , S T A T

STATUS menus provide information about the current input source and listening mode. Unlike most menus, STATUS menus cannot be accessed through the selection of menu options. Rather, the remote control SHIFT-STAT command sequence must be executed.

This command sequence is described below.

When this command sequence is executed, the STATUS menu that appears depends on whether a 2-channel, Dolby Digital, dts(-ES),

5.1-channel analog, or unknown digital input source is present. If a 5.1-channel analog input source is present, the STATUS menu that appears also depends on whether the MAIN ADV menu

ANALOG BYPASS parameter is set to ON or OFF.

To access and navigate the STATUS menu for the current input source:

1. Press the remote control SHIFT button to activate the SHIFT command bank.

2. Press the remote control STAT button. The first page of the

STATUS menu for the current input source will appear on the on-screen and front panel displays. All STATUS menus are shown on page 27.

3. Press the STAT button again to access the second page of the

STATUS menu. If the STATUS menu does not include a second page, pressing the STAT button a second time will exit the menu. If the STATUS menu does include a second page, press the STAT button a third time to exit the menu.

Software Version 2.0 Release & Errata Notes

4. Press the remote control MENU 5 and 6 arrows to scroll upward and downward through the complete list of parameters on the current page. The name of the highlighted parameter will appear on the front panel display.

Note:

STATUS menu parameters provide information about the current input source and listening mode. These parameters cannot be adjusted.

STATUS MENU LEVEL METERS

Most STATUS menus contain level meters that indicate fluctuating input levels in the front left (L), center (C), front right (R), surround left (SL), surround right (SR), surround back (SB), and LFE channels.

Different combinations of level meters appear on each STATUS menu. The SB level meter will appear when a 6.1-channel input source is present, or when a 5.1-channel input source is present and the ES DECODING parameter is set to ON for the selected listening mode.

All level meters appear in combinations of green, yellow, and red when the on-screen display has a blue-screen background. Green indicates low input levels, yellow indicates normal input levels, and red indicates the onset of overload.

LISTENING MODE & STATUS MENU PARAMETER

DESCRIPTIONS

This section contains additions and modifications to the listening mode and STATUS menu parameter descriptions that begin on page 5-20 of the MC-12 User Guide (Rev 1).

2.0 ENCODING

(MATRIX, NONE)

Indicates whether or not matrix encoding is present in the input signal. When the parameter value is MATRIX, matrix encoding is present in the input signal. When the parameter value is NONE, matrix encoding is not present in the input signal.

BASS RT

(0.2 x MID RT) to (2.0 x MID RT)

Full Name: Low-frequency Reverberation Time

Depends on the MID RT parameter setting, which depends on the

SIZE parameter setting. The BASS RT parameter is expressed as a multiplier of the MID RT parameter. The BASS RT parameter should be set to 1.0 x the MID RT parameter setting for more natural effects in smaller spaces.

CAUTION

Setting the BASS RT or MID RT parameters to a high value might produce undesirable or damaging audio.

BIT RATE

(32 to 3072kbps)

Indicates the rate at which the input signal is encoded. A higher bit rate indicates that less compression was used during the encoding process.

Lexicon

CENTER DEPTH

(0 to 18)

Adjusts the amount of processing applied to the center channel, changing the perceived distance of the center speaker. Higher settings increase and lower settings decrease the perceived distance of the center speaker.

CENTER MIX LVL

(-3.0dB, -4.5dB, -6.0dB)

Indicates the relative level of the center channel that was used during the mixing process.

DIALOG OFFSET

(-31 to 0dB)

Indicates the dialog normalization value applied to the input signal.

Dolby Digital input sources reproduce dialog at 31 decibels below full-scale (-31dBFS). When the dialog normalization value of the incoming signal is higher or lower, the DIALOG OFFSET parameter indicates the amount of adjustment the MC-12 makes to normalize dialog to -31dBFS.

EFFECT LVL

(-12dB to +6dB)

Adjusts the amount of ambience or reverb mixed into all MAIN

AUDIO OUTPUTS

ES DECODING

(AUTO, ON, OFF)

Controls the dts-ES decoding feature. When set to AUTO, the

MC-12 engages dts-ES decoding for flagged dts-ES-encoded input sources. The MC-12 does not engage dts-ES decoding for other dts input sources, including non-flagged dts-ES-encoded input sources. When set to ON, the MC-12 engages dts-ES decoding for all dts(-ES) input sources. When set to OFF, the MC-12 disengages dts-ES decoding for all dts(-ES) input sources.

28

MC-12

When the SHIFT command bank is active, pressing the remote control dts button selects the appropriate dts(-ES) listening mode for the current input source. Subsequent presses adjust the ES

DECODING parameter, cycling through the AUTO, ON, and OFF settings. If the appropriate dts-ES listening mode is selected before the dts button is first pressed, the first press of the button will adjust the ES DECODING parameter setting.

The ES DECODING parameter is not available when the CUSTOM

SETUP menu SIDE L/R or REAR L/R parameters are set to NONE, or the THX SETUP menu REAR L/R parameter is set to NONE.

Note:

When the ES DECODING parameter is set to ON for

5.1-channel dts(-ES) input sources, the SB level meter will appear on the dts(-ES) STATUS menu.

ES ENCODING

(DISCRETE, MATRIX, NONE)

Replaces the ES DECODE parameter on the dts(-ES) STATUS menu.

When the parameter value is DISCRETE, a discrete 6.1-channel input source is present. When the parameter value is MATRIX, a matrix 5.1-channel input source with a matrix-encoded surround channel is present. When the parameter value is NONE, a standard dts input source with no dts-ES encoding is present. The MC-12 cannot automatically detect dts-ES encoding for non-flagged dts-ES-encoded input sources.

EX DECODING

(AUTO, ON, OFF)

Controls the Dolby Digital EX decoding feature. When set to

AUTO, the MC-12 engages Dolby Digital EX decoding for flagged, encoded 5.1-channel Dolby Digital input sources recorded with

Dolby Digital Surround EX. The MC-12 does not engage Dolby

Software Version 2.0 Release & Errata Notes

Digital EX decoding for other 5.1-channel Dolby Digital input sources, including non-flagged, encoded 5.1-channel Dolby Digital sources recorded with Dolby Digital Surround EX. When set to ON, the MC-12 engages Dolby Digital EX decoding for all 5.1-channel

Dolby Digital input sources. When set to OFF, the MC-12 disengages Dolby Digital EX decoding for all 5.1-channel Dolby

Digital input sources.

When the SHIFT command bank is active, pressing the remote control DOLBY button selects the appropriate Dolby listening mode for the current input source. If the DOLBY DIGITAL EX listening mode is selected, subsequent presses adjust the EX

DECODING parameter, cycling through the AUTO, ON, and OFF settings. If another Dolby listening mode is selected, subsequent presses have no effect. If the DOLBY DIGITAL EX listening mode is selected before the DOLBY button is first pressed, the first press of the button will adjust the EX DECODING parameter setting.

The EX DECODING parameter is not available when the CUSTOM

SETUP menu SIDE L/R or REAR L/R parameters are set to NONE, or the THX SETUP menu REAR L/R parameter is set to NONE.

EX ENCODING

(MATRIX, NONE)

Indicates whether or not Dolby Digital Surround EX encoding is present in the input signal. When the parameter value is MATRIX, a flagged, encoded 5.1-channel Dolby Digital input source recorded with Dolby Digital Surround EX is present. When the parameter value is NONE, a 5.1-channel Dolby Digital input source is present.

The MC-12 cannot automatically detect Dolby Digital Surround EX encoding for non-flagged, encoded 5.1-channel Dolby Digital input sources recorded with Dolby Digital Surround EX.

29

Software Version 2.0 Release & Errata Notes

Listening Mode & STATUS Menu Parameter Descriptions

(continued from page 29)

FRONT STEERING

(OFF, MSURR, MUSIC, FILM)

Adjusts front steering to match the input source. When set to FILM, maximum front steering is applied. When set to MUSIC, moderate front steering is applied. When set to MSURR, minimum front steering is applied. When set to OFF, no front steering is applied. It is recommended to set this parameter to FILM for film sources and to MUSIC, MSURR, or OFF for music sources.

LIVENESS

(30ms to 20.2s)

Depends on the SIZE parameter setting. The LIVENESS parameter adjusts the amount of effect re-circulation. Higher settings mimic more reflective simulated space surfaces and increase decay time.

MID RT

(24ms to 24.3s)

Full name: Mid-range Reverberation Time

Depends on the SIZE parameter setting. The MID RT parameter adjusts the amount of time required for mid-range sounds to decay

60dB.

CAUTION

Setting the BASS RT or MID RT parameters to a high value might produce undesirable or damaging audio.

MIX ROOM

(SMALL, LARGE)

Indicates the size of the mixing room that was used. When the parameter value is LARGE, it is recommended to set the

RE-EQUALIZATION parameter for the selected listening mode to

ON (if applicable).

30

Lexicon

PRE-DELAY

(OFF, 1ms to 100ms)

Adjusts delay time between the direct sound and the onset of reverberation. Higher settings make the simulated space sound larger. Because some pre-delay is inherent in all program material, it is recommended to begin with the parameter set to OFF, then make adjustments accordingly.

ROLLOFF

(500Hz to 20.0kHz, OFF)

Adjusts the absorption of high frequencies in the simulated space.

It is recommended to begin with a low setting to simulate large spaces.

SIZE

(4m to 30m)

Adjusts the length, width, and height of the simulated space.

SPEECH DETECT

(ON, OFF)

Controls a circuit that distinguishes monaural speech from other input sources. When set to ON, effects are lowered to minimize interference with monaural speech. When stereo input sources are present, the front left and right channels are independently used as inputs for ambience synthesis. When strong monaural speech is present in the input source, the monaural component of the ambience effect is reduced and the stereo component of the effect is increased. When set to OFF, the amount of ambience synthesis is dynamically controlled.

SURR ROLLOFF

(500Hz to 20kHz)

Applies a high-frequency rolloff to the MAIN AUDIO OUTPUTS labeled SIDE L/R and REAR L/R. This rolloff is only applied to output signals generated by the MC-12. Signals above the rolloff that are part of the source recording are passed through without filtering.

MC-12

SURROUND EX

(AUTO, ON, OFF)

Controls the Surround EX decoding feature. When set to AUTO, the MC-12 engages Surround EX decoding for flagged Surround

EX-encoded THX input sources. The MC-12 does not engage

Surround EX decoding for other THX input sources, including non-flagged Surround EX-encoded input sources. When set to ON, the MC-12 engages Surround EX decoding for all THX input sources. When set to OFF, the MC-12 disengages Surround EX decoding for all THX input sources. The AUTO setting is not available for the 5.1a THX listening modes.

When the SHIFT command bank is active, pressing the remote control THX button selects the appropriate THX listening mode for the current input source. If the 5.1 THX SurEX listening mode is selected, subsequent presses adjust the SURROUND EX parameter, cycling through the AUTO, ON, and OFF settings. If another THX listening mode is selected, subsequent presses have no effect. If the

5.1 THX SurEX listening mode is selected before the THX button is first pressed, the first press of the button will adjust the SURROUND

EX parameter setting.

The SURROUND EX parameter is not available when the CUSTOM

SETUP menu SIDE L/R or REAR L/R parameters are set to NONE, or the THX SETUP menu REAR L/R parameter is set to NONE.

Note:

Toggling the SURROUND EX parameter setting produces low-level clicks in the front speakers.

SURROUND MIX LVL

(+0.0dB, -3.0dB, -6.0dB)

Indicates the relative level of surround channels that was used during the mixing process.

Software Version 2.0 Release & Errata Notes

WORD LENGTH

(16bits, 20bits, 24bits)

Indicates the word length of the audio data present in the input signal.

ERRATA NOTES

The errata notes that begin below reflect additions and modifications to the MC-12 User Guide (Rev 1) based on Software

Version 2.0. These errata notes replace all errata notes that appeared in previous documentation.

1. When switching audio formats, the MC-12 will momentarily mute under certain conditions until the new audio format is recognized.

2. When switching audio formats, some DVD players will produce audio artifacts.

3. The MC-12 does not decode MPEG-encoded input signals.

When an MPEG input source is present:

• The MC-12 will not switch to the assigned analog audio input connector when the MAIN ADV menu INPUT SELECT parameter is set to AUTO.

• The ZONE 2 or RECORD AUDIO OUTPUTS will mute when the INPUT SETUP menu ZONE2 IN or RECORD IN parameter is set to DIGITAL or DMIX.

. . . Errata Notes continues on page 32

31

Software Version 2.0 Release & Errata Notes

Errata Notes

(continued from page 31)

4. To accommodate THX level requirements, the MAIN AUDIO

OUTPUTS labeled FRONT L/R are about 2dB lower than the

ZONE 2 and RECORD AUDIO OUTPUTS when an analog input source is present and about 8dB lower than the ZONE 2 and

RECORD AUDIO OUTPUTS when a digital input source is present. The ZONE 2 and RECORD AUDIO OUTPUTS are the same level as the input source.

5. When the 5.1-channel analog input is selected, signals sent to outputs for which the corresponding CUSTOM SETUP or THX

SETUP menu parameter is set to NONE will not be redirected to other channels. It is recommended that DVD-A and SACD player speaker configurations be identical to the MC-12 speaker configuration.

6. When the INTERNAL NOISE TEST is in process, it is possible to manually select a speaker just as the cursor is about to automatically scroll to that speaker. This might cause the

MC-12 to send the noise signal to both outputs. If this occurs, reselect the desired speaker.

7. When the RECORD ADV menu DIG OUT RATE parameter setting is adjusted, the RECORD AUDIO OUTPUT labeled

S/PDIF will mute momentarily – even if the RECORD ADV menu

DIGITAL BYPASS parameter is set to ON.

8. When the MAIN command bank is selected, pressing the remote control 7/5 button will not toggle between 7 and

5-channel playback if the CUSTOM SETUP or THX SETUP menu

REAR L/R or CUSTOM SETUP menu SIDE L/R parameters are set to NONE. The message, "FEATURE UNAVAILABLE DUE TO

CONFIGURATION" will appear on the on-screen and front panel displays.

32

Lexicon

9. When the MAIN ADV menu ANALOG BYPASS parameter is set to ON, the front panel Mode and , remote control MODE

+ and –, and remote control mode family selection buttons are not available. When pressed, the message "NOT AVAILABLE

DURING BYPASS" will appear on the on-screen and front panel displays.

10. When the remote control dts button is pressed while a PCM digital input source is present, the dts NEO:6 FILM listening mode is selected.

11. The remote control SHIFT-THX, SHIFT-DOLBY, and SHIFT-dts command sequences are not available when a 5.1-channel analog input source is present. When pressed, the message

"NOT AVAILABLE DURING 5.1a" will appear on the on-screen and front panel displays.

12. The RECORD ADV menu ANLG IN LVL parameter affects the digital RECORD AUDIO OUTPUT labeled S/PDIF. This parameter prevents the internal A/D converter from overloading. It can be adjusted while listening to an input source.

13. The ANLG IN LVL menu level meters indicate signal levels for the selected input, whether an analog or digital input source is present. For example, the level meters will indicate digital input signal levels when a digital input source is present.

14. The ANLG IN LVL menu level meters appear in combinations of green, yellow, and red when the on-screen display has a bluescreen background. Green indicates low input levels, yellow indicates normal input levels, and red indicates the onset of overload.

MC-12

15. References to the INPUT GAIN parameter on page 3-7 of the

MC-12 User Guide (Rev 1) refer to the ANLG IN LVL menu

AUTO GAIN parameter.

16. The factory-default setting of the MAIN ADV menu

COMPONENT OSD parameter is OFF. When set to ON, the component on-screen display appears on a full blue-screen background. Refer to page 3-14 of the MC-12 User Guide (Rev

1) for more information.

17. When the CUSTOM SETUP or THX SETUP menu REAR L/R parameter is set to NONE, the MC-12 redirects rear channel signals to the MAIN AUDIO OUTPUTS labeled SIDE L/R. Refer to page 3-21 of the MC-12 User Guide (Rev 1) for more information.

18. The SUB LIMITERS menu has been renamed the BASS PEAK

LIMITERS menu. The menu and its parameters still function as described on pages 3-28 and 3-29 of the MC-12 User Guide

(Rev 1).

19. The 5.1 MONO, 5.1 MONO LOGIC, and 5.1 MONO SURR listening modes are designed for playback of Dolby Digital mono input sources. When a Dolby Digital 1.0 input source is present, the MC-12 automatically selects the 5.1 MONO

LOGIC listening mode. The MC-12 does not automatically select 5.1 MONO LOGIC for other Dolby Digital mono input sources.

20. The front panel Mute button LED lights whenever mute is automatically or manually activated. For instance, the MC-12 will briefly activate mute when switching input sources or listening modes.

Software Version 2.0 Release & Errata Notes

21. When a new software version is installed, INPUT SETUP menu preferred listening mode selection parameters that were set to

USE LAST will not revert to the listening mode that was last selected. Instead, these parameters will revert to the default listening modes shown in the table below.
