Supply User Guide

Important safety instructions

• Read these instructions.

• Keep these instructions.

• Heed all warnings.

• Follow all instructions.

• Do not use this apparatus near water.

• Clean only with a dry cloth.

• Do not block any ventilation openings. I nstall in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

• Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

• Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades w i th one wider than the other.

A grounding type p l ug has two blades and a third ground i ng prong.

The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

• Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particu l arly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they ex i t from the apparatus.

• Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacture r .

• Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

• Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as powersupply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the appa r atus, the apparatus has been exposed to ra i n or moisture, does no t operate normally, or has been dropped.

This apparatus has been designed with Class 1 construction and must be connected to a mains socket outlet with a protective earthing connection

(the third grounding pin).

This apparatus does not include a power switch. The apparatus may be isolated from mains power either by unplugging the power connector from the base of the unit, or by unplugging the connector at the opposing end of the power cord or cable from its supp l y outlet. As a result, e i t her or both of these connectors should remain accessible

Safety warnings

• Do not p l ace any object filled wi t h liquid , such as a vase, on the unit.

• Do not p l ace naked flame sources, such as lighted candles , on the un i t.

• To avo i d overheating l eave at l east 1 Ocm around the equipment to ensure sufficient ventilation.

• Do not position the unit in direct sunlight, near heat sources such as a radiator, or directly on t op o f heat producing equip m ent , such as a power amplifier.

• To avoid interference do not pos i tion the unit nea r strong electr i cal or magnet i c radiation, such as near a power amplif i er.

Radio interference

Unpacking

The Meridian Prime Power Supply is supplied with the following accessories:

• Mains cable.

• USB cable (P2257 4)

• 12V power cable (SK 194 7)

• This manual.

If any of these items are missing please contact your retailer.

Additional 12V power cables can be purchased from your

Meridian dealer.

NOTE: You should retain the packaging in case you need to transport the unit.

Applications

To use the Meridian Prime Power Supply in conjunction with the Meridian Prime

Headphone Amplifier

The Meridian Prime Power Supply optionally provides an extremely low-noise stable power source for both the analogue and digital sections which will help del i ver the highest possible audio performance from the Meridian Prime Headphone

Amplifier.

• Connect one of the five 12V outputs from the Meridian Prime

Power Supply to the Power Input of the Meridian Prime

Headphone Amplifier, using a power lead.

Optionally, when using the USB input:

• Set up the computer to use the USB output; see the Meridian

Prime Headphone Amplifier User Guide .

• Connect the PC USB socket to the USB Passthrough input on the Meridian Prime Power Supply, using a USB-A to

USB-B lead.

• Connect the USB Passthrough output from the Meridian

Prime Power Supply to the USB input on the Meridian Prime

Headphone Amplifier, using a USB-A to mini-USB lead.

• Press the Input selector button on the Meridian Prime

Headphone Amplifier to select USB.
