ENGINEERING CONSIDERATIONS (NOT FOR FIELD REPRESENTATIVE'S USE):

General - These devices are open type solid-state AC motor controllers
with reduced voltage starting feature for use with asynchronous motors. There
are 5 different frame sizes designated by Frame A to Frame E. They are
intended for use in industrial applications.
All spacings have been evaluated per UL 508, Table 36.1, except for
spacings on the printed wiring boards which were evaluated per UL 840.
GENERAL CONSTRUCTION DETAILS:
The product shall be constructed in accordance with the following
description.
Corrosion Protection - All parts are of corrosion resistant material or
are plated or painted for corrosion protection.
Marking - Ink-stamped label permanently secured to the housing,
designated: Listee's name or file number, model number, and electrical
ratings on Softarters and Accesories.
The equipment markings shall include identification of an accessory to
be attached in the field, or a reference to a separate publication that
identifies all such accessories. Marking may be on a separate sheet, the
accessory information may also be on the separate sheet.
Accessories shall be marked with the identification of the equipment on
which it is intended to be used.

INTERNAL CONSTRUCTION
1.
Contact Block Base – R/C plastic (QMFZ2), plastic material type A , B or
C, V0, RTI min. 130 C, 0.8 mm thick, 14 mm high, 47.6 mm wide and 60 mm
long.

Contact Block Cover - R/C plastic (QMFZ2), same material as item 1, 1.2
mm thick 36.5 mm by 47 mm by 60 mm.

Movable Contact Carrier (upper part)- R/C plastic (QMFZ2), same material
as item 1, 2.5mm thick with overall dimensions of 30mm (diameter) by 17
mm.

Movable Contact Carrier (lower part)- R/C plastic (QMFZ2), same material
as item 1, 1.5mm thick with overall dimensions of 20 mm (diameter) by 32
mm.

Movable Contact - Contacts are silver/tin oxide (88/12 percent), 7.5 by
7.5 by 1 mm, two welded to each support (three welded for GHOPC-600).

Movable Contact Support - Material is copper, 25 mm wide, 37 mm long, 6
mm thick (8 mm thick for GHOPC-600).

Contact Spring – Stainless steel, 1.5 mm diameter thickness, 14 mm OD
coil, 18 mm free length, 5 turns. Inserted into upper contact carrier.
8.
Contact Carrier Return Spring - Stainless steel, 1.2 diameter thickness,
30 mm to 25 mm OD coil, 12 mm free length, 2.5 turns. Inserted into
contact block base.
9.
Stationary Contact – Same as item 5.
10.
Stationary Contact Support - Material is copper, 40 mm wide, 50 mm long,
5 mm thick (45 mm wide, 55 mm long, 6 mm thick for GHOPC-600).
11.
Armature - Plated steel, 22 mm (diameter) by 61 mm overall dimensions.
Secures movable contact carrier by M5 nut with flat and helical washers.
12.
Magnet - Laminated steel, 3 mm thick, 47.6 mm by 49 mm by 51 mm (59 mm
overall). Central core, plated steel, 16 mm diameter by 38 mm.

SAMPLES:
Representative production samples of the Models GHOPC-410A, GHOPC-410B,
GHOPC-600A and GHOPC-600B manufactured by Ghisalba S.p.A. relay used as
unlisted component in series ATS22 frames D and E soft start controllers
(Report dated 2009-12-14), as indicated below and constructed as described
herein, were submitted by the manufacturer for examination and test.
GENERAL:
Test results relate only to the items tested.
No tests were performed on these models due to similarity in construction to
previously tested models.
Test Record Summary:
The test methods and results of the above tests have been reviewed and found
to comply with the requirements in the Standard for Industrial Control
Equipment, UL 508-17 Ed. 2010/04/15.
Test Record Summary:
The results of this investigation indicate that the products evaluated comply
with the applicable requirements on the Standard for Industrial Control
Equipment, UL 508-17 Ed. 2010/04/15 and, therefore, such products are judged
eligible to bear UL’s Mark as described on the Conclusion Page of this
