Locating
Locating A Passive Electronic Marker
It i s ideal t o have a general i dea o f where a marker may be buried. By first
locating the utility, the user has a path in witch the marker is buried.
Select desired gain setting. M ost markers may be l ocated o n lowest gain setting. Use high gain if marker is known to be deep.
Move the RECEIVER at a medium speed side to side while walking a straight line.
Move slowly so a marker may not be missed. The R ECEIVER will detect a marker
just a few feet away so a grid search may be needed to find a marker.
The RECEIVER will g ive a maximum signal when d irectly over t he m arker. GAIN
adjustment may be needed for optimum sensitivity.
