The quick reference guide

Connect the 12vDC power supply into your router and into a power socket.

Remove the antennae from packaging and connect it to the router.

Plug the red cable from the power supply marked
OUT into the red socket on the back of the router marked DSL.

Plug the yellow LAN cable into the yellow port on the router and the other end into the LAN port on your computer.

Take the grey cable and plug the one end into red socket marked DSL of the DSL splitter and the other end into the power supply marked IN

Plug the short end of the DSL splitter into the telephone jack on the wall
Your telephone now plugs into the green socket marked

Let’s get started.
Ready to go.
Switch your router on by pressing the power button at the back of router.

The power light will first come on red and then eventually turn green.

The DSL light will come on and flash, until a connection is synced. Once synced the light will remain solid.
The LAN 1 light must be green if the LAN cable is plugged in.
The Wi-Fi light will be green if Wi-Fi is enabled.

The Internet light will also be green if the account is active.

All these lights can flash as data is transferred.

Configuring your router.

Open your internet browser and go to: http://10.0.0.2

Type in admin for both the username and password.
Click Login.

From the D-Link page that loads, click Status and see whether the router is configured.

If the router is not online and not configured click Setup > Setup Wizard.

Change the password to your preferred password. Click Next.

Click Next on the Time and Date page.
There is no need to change these.

Select South Africa from the Country dropdown, and Telkom as your Internet Service Provider. Enter the username and password that were SMS’d to you and click Next .

Enter your preferred name for your Wi-Fi network, and your password . Click Next.

Check the Summary page and click Next.
Last few steps.

If you were accessing the router via Wi-Fi up to this point, you will need to reconnect to the router using the new Wi-Fi name and password. It is important to log out properly by clicking Logout , and not just shutting down your browser window.

Activate your internet account by opening your web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome) and typing www.telkom.co.za/verifyadsl into the address field.
Press Enter . Complete the fields with your telephone number and order number and click on Submit .

Your router setup is now complete.
Test your internet connection by going to www.youtube.com/telkom

1 Plug your dongle into the back of your router.

Open your web browser and go to http://10.0.0.2

Type in admin as your username and your new password, if you changed it. Otherwise use the default ‘admin’ password. Click Login .

Click 3G Internet Setup . Click Add .

Click Auto Setting.

Click Apply/Save.

Click 3G Internet Setup from the left hand navigation to refresh the page, and if your SIM card requires a pin, click the Pin Manage button.
Final step.

Enter the SIM’s Pin (which you will find on the
Simcard holder) and click Submit.
And just like that you are connected.
