Impedance Meter Charging Pack

M 8617

Q 2003 Impedance Meter

(Not Included)

12V DC Plugpack 9V (8.4V)

Rechargeable Battery

This pack contains:

• 9V (8.4V) rechargeable battery

• 12V DC (regulated) Plugpack with 2.1mm jack

• Car cigarette lighter plug to 2.1mm jack

BATTERY INSTALLATION AND/OR CHARGING.

“LOW BATTERY” will display on the LCD when the battery requires replacing or if the rechargeable 9V Nicad/Nimh battery needs charging.

Charging directions:

1.

Remove rear cover from Q 2003 and connect rechargeable battery to the battery snap connector.

2.

Insert battery in the Rear hatch of the Q 2003 and reinstall the rear cover.

3.

Plug 12V Plugpack into wall socket (or plug cigarette adapter into car) and connect the 2.1mm jack into the top of the Q 2003 (make sure the 2.1mm jack is set to positive tip otherwise it will not charge).

The Q 2003’s charging circuit will do the rest and will show the charge capacity on the front LCD. When the battery is charged the LCD will display that the charge is finished and to remove the Q 2003 from the Plugpack.

To replace or install the 9V (type 216) battery required to power the Impedance Meter, simply slide off the battery compartment on the back of the unit. Remove and unclip the old battery from the connector and replace it with a fresh battery. Slide the cover back until it locks into place.

To recharge an installed Nicad/Nimh battery connect a

12VDC source (car battery, cigarette lighter socket or plug pack) >300mA with a 2.1mm centre positive plug to the charging socket located on the top of the Q 2003.

“CHARGING” will display on the LCD along with the charge

%. When the charge % reaches 100% the Q 2003 will stop charging and display

“CHARGE FINISHED” on the LCD. The charger can then be unplugged. The inbuilt charging circuit is a slow charger and will take up to 12 hours to charge a completely flat battery.

NOTE:

1) The Q 2003 will not function as an Impedance meter when charging.

2) The charger can be removed at anytime during charging though battery life will suffer.

3) The Q 2003 will still function when “LOW BATTERY” is being shown on the LCD but the measured results may be out by as much as 10%.
