• To disconnect this appliance, turn controls to the off position, then remove plug from outlet.

• This appliance, when installed, must be electrically grounded in accordance with local codes, with the current CSA C22.1 Canadian Electrical Code or follow U.S.A. Installations, follow local codes and the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA N0.70.

• To prevent a possible fire, DO NOT block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. DO NOT use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where opening may become blocked.

• The heaters MUST NOT be located immediately below a socket-outlet.

• ALWAYS plug heaters directly into a wall outlet / receptacle. NEVER use with an extension cord or re-loadable power tap (outlet / power strip).

• DO NOT slide insert on top of wood to avoid scratching wood surface.

• DO NOT place any object on top of the insert or block the air intakes / vents as this can cause the unit to overheat and could cause a fire.

Electrical Connection

• A 15-Amp, 120-volt, 60 Hz circuit with a properly grounded outlet is required. Preferably, the fireplace will be on a dedicated circuit as other appliances on the same circuit may cause the circuit breaker to trip or the fuse to blow when the heater is in operation. The unit comes standard with 6-ft. threewire cord, exiting from the rear of the fireplace. DO

NOT exceed the current rating of the current tap.

Grounding Instructions

• This heater is for use on 120 volt. The cord has a plug as shown below. See illustration or grounding instruction. An adapter as shown at C is available for connecting three-blade grounding type plugs to two-slot receptacles. The green grounding plug extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box. The adapter should not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available.

PREPARATION

Before beginning assembly of product, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with package contents list and hardware contents list.

If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble the product.

1. Remove the ribbon which is used for fixing firebox by scissor.

Warning: You must install the tip restraint hardware to help prevent any accidents or damage to the unit. We strongly recommend attaching the tip restraint hardware to a wall stud and your unit. For all other wall types, please visit your local hardware store to obtain the proper hardware.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Control Panel Remote Control

To use the remote control, first insert two

AAA batteries (included) into the remote control. Ensure the polarities of the batteries match the inside of the battery compartment.

Note: The control panel is a touch screen. It will appear black. Touch the control panel once to “wake up” the controls. This will cause the controls to light up. Whichever icon you touch will display its last setting when you do this. At this time, you can press the corresponding icon to the function you would like to adjust. After 5 seconds the touch screen will fade to black.

Power Function

• Press the POWER ICON to turn the main power to the unit ON or OFF.

• When the unit is powered ON, the lights under the ember bed will glow to indicate the unit has power.

• If any functions are stored in memory then they will resume at the last setting.

Flame Brightness Function

• Press the FLAME BRIGHTNESS ICON to adjust the flame brightness.

• If the unit main power is OFF, you can press the FLAME BRIGHTNESS ICON to power ON the unit and flame brightness will resume at the last setting.

• Press the FLAME BRIGHTNESS ICON again to scroll up through the flame brightness settings: 1, 2,

3, 4, 5, OFF.

Temperature Function

• Press the TEMPERATURE ICON to adjust the heater’s thermostat setting.

• If the unit is powered OFF, you can press the TEMPERATURE ICON to power ON the unit. The ember bed will glow at the lowest brightness setting unless a different setting was saved in the memory.

• Press the TEMPERATURE ICON again to scroll up through the pre-set temperature settings: The thermostat setting range is 65°F (18°C) to 90ºF (32°C), HI (High) and OFF.

• Set the temperature to “HI” to have the heater run continually.

• Press and hold the TEMPERATURE & TIMER ICON for 5 seconds to toggle between 5°F (3°C) increments and 1ºF (1°C) increments when setting the temperature. The unit will beep to indicate that the change has taken place. The factory default temperature is 5°F (3°C) increments.

Note: This option is only available if using the control panel.

• Hold down the TEMPERATURE ICON for 5 seconds to toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius. An

“F” or “C” will display next to the temperature.

Note: This option is only available if using the control panel.

• Press and hold the TEMPERATURE ICON for 10 seconds to disengage the heater function. Press and hold the TEMPERATURE ICON for 10 seconds again to engage the heater function. (See

HEATER OVERRIDE section below for more details).

Note: This option is only available if using the control panel.

Timer Function

• Press the TIMER ICON to set the countdown for the unit’s main power.

• If the unit is powered OFF, you can press the TIMER ICON to power ON the unit. The ember bed will glow at the lowest brightness setting unless a different setting was saved in the memory.

• Press the TIMER ICON again to scroll through the timer settings, which are: 30, 1H, 2H, 3H, 4H,

5H, 6H, 7H, 8H, 9H, OFF. (30 means 30 minutes)

• When the timer reaches zero, it will turn OFF the main power and will maintain all the settings in memory.

HEATER OVERRIDE

The power to the heater can be disengaged to prevent the heater from being accidentally or unintentionally powered on. This feature is primarily added to help prevent children from powering on the heater when it is not desired.

• To engage the heater override function press and hold the TEMPERATURE ICON for 10 seconds. The symbol E3 will display and then go blank while beeping 3 times. The heater function is now locked. If the TEMPERATURE ICON is pressed again E3 will appear then fade. The Flame, Downlight and Timer functions will operate normally. Only the heater and blower are disengaged.

• To unlock the heater function, press and hold the TEMPERATURE ICON for 10 seconds. The symbol E3 will display and then go blank while beeping 3 times. The heater function is now engaged. By pressing the

TEMPERATURE ICON again you will be able to adjust the heat temperature to your desired temperature.

MEMORY FUNCTION

This unit has a memory function that allows you to turn off the MAIN POWER and retains all the other function settings (excluding the TIMER function).

• When the unit’s main power is OFF, press the POWER ICON once on the insert control panel or on the remote control to power the unit ON and “wake up” the individual function at the last setting. Press the icon again to adjust it and press the main POWER ICON on the insert or on the remote control to turn the unit

OFF and save the new setting into memory.

• When the unit is powered ON, the LED readout will show the saved temperature setting. If a temperature setting was not saved, it will show the flame brightness setting saved in memory. If neither one has a setting saved to memory, then only the ember bed will glow (as a power light indicator).

• To reset the memory, hold down the main POWER ICON for 10 seconds at any time. When this happens, the LED readout will blink with three zeros three times the unit will be shut down.

• Another way to reset the memory is to unplug the unit from the wall.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

• Make sure the unit is turned OFF, unplugged and the heating elements of heater are cool whenever you are cleaning the heater or fireplace.

• Clean the metal trim using a water-dampened soft, clean cloth. DO NOT use brass polish or household cleaners as these products will damage the metal trim.

• The motors used on the fan and the flame generator assembly are pre-lubricated for extended bearing life and require no further lubrication. However, periodic cleaning/vacuuming of the fan/heater and air intake/ output vents are recommended.

• When the heater is not in use, the power cord should be stored properly to avoid contact with hot or sharp objects.

• Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.

Replacing the Remote-Control Batteries

When the remote control (S) stops operating or its range seems reduced, it is time to replace the batteries. Note:

The batteries should be removed if the product is to be left unused for a long time.

1. The battery compartment is located on the back of the remote control (S).

2. Remove battery cover from the back of remote control (S) and remove old batteries.

3. Insert 2pcs AAA batteries, ensuring the polarities of the battery match the inside of the battery compartment.

4. Re-insert the battery door.

Note: Do not mix old and new batteries.

Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon zinc), or rechargeable (nicad, nimh, etc.) batteries.

Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the product.

Disposal of Used Battery

A battery may contain hazardous substances that could be endangering the environment and human health.

• This symbol marked on the battery and/or packaging indicates that used battery shall not be treated as municipal waste. Instead it shall be left at the appropriate collection point for recycling.

• By ensuring the used battery is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health. The recycling of materials will help to conserve natural resources.

• Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may explode or leak.

For more information about collection and recycling of used batteries, please contact your local municipality, your waste disposal service or the point-of-sale where you purchased this battery.

TROUBLESHOOTING

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Unplug unit, wait 15-20 minutes, then the sensor will reset itself. Plug the unit back in and turn on the heater. If the problem persists, call customer service.

Note: The other functions will work normally excluding the heater. Until the problem is solved, the error will only appear/sound when the heater button is pressed.

During use, check the plug and outlet frequently to determine if it is HOT; if so, discontinue use of the appliance and consult with a qualified electrician to check or change the overheating outlet(s).

Weak or failing batteries. Replace with 2 AAA batteries (See page 9 for more information.)

Remote control signal is weak and only works sometimes.

Move closer to the insert; the remote control will only work within a distance of 20 feet and 45 degrees to either side from the front of the fireplace insert.

This is a standard feature; the blower runs for an additional time to cool off heater tubes.

ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

The manufacturer warrants that your new electric fireplace is free from manufacturing and material defects for a period of one year from date of purchase, subject to the following conditions and limitations.

Install and operate this electric fireplace in accordance with the installation and operating instructions furnished with the product at all times. Any unauthorized repair, alteration, willful abuse, accident, or misuse of the product shall nullify this warranty.

This warranty is non-transferable, and is made to the original owner, provided that the purchase was made through an authorized supplier of the product.

The warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of part(s) found to be defective in material or workmanship, provided that such part(s) have been subjected to normal conditions of use and service, after said defect is confirmed by the manufacturer’s inspection.

The manufacturer may, at its discretion, fully discharge all obligations with respect to this warranty by refunding the wholesale price of the defective part(s).

Any installation, labor, construction, transportation, or other related costs/expenses arising from defective part(s), repair, replacement, or otherwise of same, will not be covered by this warranty, nor shall the manufacturer assume responsibility for same.

The owner/user assumes all other risks, if any, including the risk of any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of the use, or inability to use the product, except as provided by law.

All other warranties-expressed or implied-with respect to the product, its components and accessories, or any obligations/liabilities on the part of the manufacturer are hereby expressly excluded.

The manufacturer neither assumes, nor authorizes any third party to assume on its behalf, any other liabilities with respect to the sale of the product.

PREPARACIÓN

Para usar el control remoto, primero coloque dos baterías AAA (incluidas) en el control remoto. Asegúrese de que los polos de la batería coincidan dentro del compartimiento de baterías.

Nota: el panel de control es una pantalla táctil. Se verá toda negra. Toque el panel de control una vez para

"activar" los controles. Esto hará que los controles se iluminen. Cualquier ícono que toque mostrará su última configuración cuando lo haga. En este momento, puede presionar el ícono correspondiente a la función que desea ajustar. Luego de 5 segundos, la pantalla táctil se tornará negra.

Función de alimentación

• Presione el ÍCONO DE ALIMENTACIÓN para ENCENDER o APAGAR la unidad.

• Cuando la unidad se ENCIENDE, las luces debajo de las brasas brillarán para indicar que la unidad tiene energía.

• Si alguna función se almacena en la memoria, se reanudará en la última configuración.

Función de brillo de la llama

• Presione el ÍCONO DE BRILLO DE LA LLAMA para regularla.

• Si la unidad está APAGADA, puede presionar el ÍCONO DE BRILLO DE LA LLAMA para

ENCENDER la unidad y el brillo de la llama se reanudará en la última configuración.

• Presione el ÍCONO DE BRILLO DE LLAMA nuevamente para desplazarse hacia arriba a través de las configuraciones del brillo de la llama: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, APAGADO.

Función de temperatura

• Presione el ÍCONO DE TEMPERATURA para regular la configuración del termostato del calentador.

• Si la unidad está APAGADA, puede presionar el ÍCONO DE TEMPERATURA para ENCENDER la unidad. Se brasas brillarán con la configuración de brillo más baja a menos que se haya guardado una configuración diferente en la memoria.

• Presione el ÍCONO DE TEMPERATURA nuevamente para desplazarse hacia arriba por las configuraciones de temperatura preestablecidas: Se rango de configuración del termostato es de

65 °F (18 °C) a 90 °F (32 °C), HI (alto) y APAGADO.

• Configure la temperatura en "HI" para que el calentador funcione continuamente.

• Mantenga presionado el ÍCONO DE TEMPERATURA Y TEMPORIZADOR durante 5 segundos para alternar entre incrementos de 5 °F (3 °C) y 1 °F (1 °C) al ajustar la temperatura. La unidad emitirá un pitido para indicar que se ha realizado el cambio. La temperatura predeterminada de fábrica es de incrementos de 5 °F (3 °C).

Nota: esta opción solo está disponible si usa el panel de control.

• Mantenga presionado el ÍCONO DE TEMPERATURA durante 5 segundos para alternar entre

Fahrenheit y Celsius. Aparecerá una "F" o una "C" junto a la temperatura.

• Mantenga presionado el ÍCONO DE TEMPERATURA durante 10 segundos para desactivar la función de calentador. Mantenga presionado el ÍCONO DE TEMPERATURA nuevamente durante 10 segundos para activar la función de calentador (consulte la sección ANULACIÓN DEL

CALENTADOR a continuación para obtener más detalles).

INSTRUCCIONES DE FUNCIONAMIENTO (CONTINUACIÓN)

Función de temporizador

• Presione el ÍCONO DE TEMPORIZADOR para configurar la cuenta regresiva de la alimentación principal de la unidad.

• Si la unidad está APAGADA, puede presionar el ÍCONO DE TEMPORIZADOR para ENCENDER la unidad. Las brasas brillarán con la configuración de brillo más baja a menos que se haya guardado una configuración diferente en la memoria.

• Presione el ÍCONO DE TEMPORIZADOR nuevamente para desplazarse por las siguientes configuraciones del temporizador: 30, 1 H, 2 H, 3 H, 4 H, 5 H, 6 H, 7 H, 8 H, 9 H, APAGADO (30 significa 30 minutos).

• Cuando el temporizador llegue a cero, se apagará la alimentación principal y se mantendrán todas las configuraciones en la memoria.

ANULACIÓN DEL CALENTADOR

Se puede desconectar la alimentación del calentador para evitar que se encienda accidental o involuntariamente. Esta característica se agrega principalmente para ayudar a evitar que los niños enciendan el calentador sin querer.

• Para activar la función de anulación del calentador, mantenga presionado el ÍCONO DE TEMPERATURA durante 10 segundos. El símbolo E3 aparecerá y luego quedará en blanco mientras emite un pitido 3 veces.

La función de calentador ahora está bloqueada. Si el ÍCONO DE TEMPERATURA se vuelve a presionar, aparecerá el símbolo E3 y luego desaparecerá. Las funciones de Llama, Luz descendente y Temporizador funcionarán normalmente. Solo el calentador y el soplador están desactivados.

• Para desbloquear la función de calentador, mantenga presionado el ÍCONO DE TEMPERATURA durante

10 segundos. El símbolo E3 aparecerá y luego quedará en blanco mientras emite un pitido 3 veces. La función de calentador ahora está activada. Al presionar el ÍCONO DE TEMPERATURA nuevamente, podrá regular la temperatura de calefacción según lo desee.

FUNCIÓN DE MEMORIA

Esta unidad tiene una función de memoria que le permite apagar la ALIMENTACIÓN PRINCIPAL y conservar todas las demás configuraciones de las funciones (excepto la función de TEMPORIZADOR).

• Cuando la alimentación principal de la unidad esté APAGADA, presione el ÍCONO DE ALIMENTACIÓN una vez en el panel de control de la unidad empotrable o en el control remoto para ENCENDER la unidad y activar la función individual en la última configuración. Presione el ícono nuevamente para regularlo y presione el ÍCONO DE ALIMENTACIÓN PRINCIPAL en la unidad empotrable o en el control remoto para

APAGAR la unidad y guardar la nueva configuración en la memoria.

• Cuando la unidad se ENCIENDA, la lectura LED mostrará la configuración de temperatura guardada. Si una configuración de temperatura no se guardó, se mostrará la configuración del brillo de la llama guardada en la memoria. Si ninguno tiene una configuración guardada en la memoria, entonces solo las brasas brillarán

(como una luz indicadora de encendido).

• Para restablecer la memoria, mantenga presionado el ÍCONO DE ALIMENTACIÓN PRINCIPAL durante

10 segundos en cualquier momento. Cuando esto ocurra, la lectura LED parpadeará con tres ceros tres veces y la unidad se apagará.

• Otra forma de restablecer la memoria es desenchufar la unidad del tomacorriente de la pared.

CUIDADO Y MANTENIMIENTO

• Asegúrese de que la unidad esté APAGADA, desenchufada y que los elementos de calefacción estén fríos cada vez que limpie el calentador o la chimenea.

• Limpie el borde metálico con un paño suave y limpio humedecido con agua. NO use pulidores de latón ni limpiadores domésticos, ya que estos productos dañarán el borde metálico.

• Los motores usados en el ventilador y en el ensamblaje del generador de llamas vienen lubricados previamente para prolongar la vida útil de los cojinetes y no necesitan lubricación adicional. Sin embargo, se recomienda limpiar o aspirar el ventilador o el calentador y la salida y entrada de aire periódicamente.

• Cuando no se use el calentador, el cable de alimentación debe guardarse adecuadamente para evitar el contacto con objetos calientes o filosos.

• Cualquier otro mantenimiento debe realizarlo un representante de servicio autorizado.

Reemplazo de las baterías del control remoto

Cuando el control remoto (S) deje de funcionar o el rango se reduzca, es momento de reemplazar las baterías. Nota : se deben retirar las baterías si el producto no se va a utilizar durante un período prolongado.

1. El compartimiento de las baterías se ubica en la parte posterior del control remoto (S).

2. Retire la cubierta de las baterías ubicada en la parte posterior del control remoto (S) y retire las baterías antiguas.

3. Coloque 2 baterías AAA y asegúrese de que los polos coincidan dentro del compartimento de las baterías.

4. Vuelva a colocar la cubierta de las baterías.

No mezcle baterías alcalinas con baterías estándar (carbono-cinc) o recargables (níquel-cadmio, níquel-hidruro metálico, etc.).

Las baterías que no son recargables no deben recargarse. Las baterías agotadas se deben retirar del producto.

Eliminación de las baterías usadas

Una batería puede contener sustancias peligrosas que podrían poner en peligro el ambiente y la salud de las personas.

• Este símbolo marcado en la batería o el paquete indica que la batería usada no se debe considerar parte de los residuos municipales. En cambio, debe eliminarse en el punto de recolección apropiado para el reciclaje.

• Al asegurar una eliminación correcta de las baterías usadas, ayudará a evitar posibles consecuencias negativas para el ambiente y la salud de las personas. El reciclaje de materiales ayudará a conservar los recursos naturales.

• No incinere las baterías. Estas podrían explotar o presentar pérdidas.

Para obtener más información sobre la recolección y el reciclaje de las baterías usadas, póngase en contacto con la municipalidad local, el servicio de eliminación de desechos o el punto de venta donde compró la batería.

SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS

ACCIÓN CORRECTIVA

Desenchufe la unidad, espere de 15 a 20 minutos, luego el sensor se reiniciará automáticamente. Vuelva a enchufar la unidad y encienda el calentador. Si el problema persiste, llame a Servicio al Cliente. Nota: las otras funciones operarán normalmente con excepción del calentador. Hasta que se resuelva el problema, el error solo aparecerá o sonará cuando se presione el botón del calentador.

Desenchufe la unidad, espere de 15 a 20 minutos, luego el sensor se reiniciará automáticamente. Vuelva a enchufar la unidad y encienda el calentador. Si el problema persiste, llame a Servicio al Cliente. Nota: las otras funciones operarán normalmente con excepción del calentador. El calentador y el soplador no se encienden, pero el resto de las funciones están operando.

Para desbloquear el calentador, simplemente mantenga presionado el botón de la temperatura durante 10 segundos

El control remoto no funciona.

La señal del control remoto es débil y solo funciona a veces.

El motor del ventilador continúa funcionando después de apagar la unidad.

Funcionamiento normal. Esto es normal para un electrodoméstico de calefacción, ya que requiere más corriente para funcionar. Revise las conexiones del cable del electrodoméstico y del tomacorriente. Asegúrese de que el enchufe se ajuste correctamente en el tomacorriente. Durante el uso, revise el enchufe y el tomacorriente frecuentemente para determinar si está CALIENTE; de ser así, interrumpa el uso del electrodoméstico y consulte con un electricista

UN AÑO DE GARANTÍA LIMITADA

El fabricante garantiza que su nueva chimenea eléctrica no presentará defectos de fabricación ni en los materiales durante un período de un año a partir de la fecha de compra, siempre y cuando se cumplan las siguientes condiciones y limitaciones.

Esta garantía no es transferible y solo está disponible para el propietario original, siempre y cuando la compra se haya realizado a través de un proveedor autorizado del producto.

Esta garantía se limita a la reparación o reemplazo de piezas que se consideren defectuosas en material o mano de obra, siempre y cuando dichas piezas se hayan sometido a condiciones normales de uso y servicio, después de que una inspección por parte del fabricante confirme dicho defecto.
