Safety Information
Warning
This is the symbol for indicating any potential hazard,
risk or condition requiring special attention.
The user needs to refer to the important operating
and maintenance or servicing instructions.
Caution
The lighting flash with an arrow head symbol, in an
equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user.
There is dangerous “voltage” presence near by the
product’s enclosure which may be risk of person.
Safety Precautions
1. Read the user manual carefully before attempting
to install the camera and keep the manual for future
reference.
2. Follow all instructions.
3. Always keep the glass lens clean to obtain the best
picture quality. Clean only with dry cloth.
4. Do not install near water or heat sources such as
radiators or other apparatus that produce heat.
5. Do not install the camera in places with high humidity.
6. Do not install the camera in places highly exposed to
gas or oil.
7. Do not install the camera in places enclosed by metal.
This may shield the electromagnetic waves and cause
signal reception to fail.
8. Do not touch the camera with wet hands.
9. Do not expose the camera to radioactivity or place
near medical equipment with radio waves.
10. Do not service the camera by yourself. Refer all
servicing to authorized personnel.
11. Always handle the device with care.

Set Up Your Camera Wirelessly Through Your Mobile Devices
To connect the IP camera to the WiFi network, perform the following:
IMPORTANT!
• Make sure the IP camera is powered on.
• Make sure your smartphone/tablet uses WiFi connection, not mobile data network.
1. Scan the QR code on the IP camera with your smartphone/tablet. You will be directed to KViewLink app
download site.

Download and open the KViewLink app in your smartphone/tablet.
Tap
to add a new IP camera.
Tap Skip to skip the introduction and access the connection page.

6. When you hear the ding-dong sound form the IP camera, scan the QR code on the IP camera.

7. Enter the name for the IP camera and tap Continue.
8. Enter the password of the WiFi router and tap OK.
IMPORTANT! Your smartphone/tablet and IP camera must be connected to the same WiFi router.
Wait until the configuration is done. When you see the Live view, this indicates the setup is complete.

Configure the IP Camera Using the KViewLink App
To configure the IP camera settings on KViewLink app, tap
next to the IP camera you
want to set up. Then select Advanced Settings and perform the necessary configurations.
Configure the IP Camera Using the Web Client
Most functions of IP camera can be configured through “Advanced Settings” on KViewLink app. But there are some
function settings, such as DST, image control, DDNS, footage downloading, IP Filter, and etc, are not available on the
KViewLink app. These settings must be set on the Web Client. Prior accessing the IP camera’s Web Client through your
notebook, make sure the IP camera is connected to the WiFi network and your notebook is connected to the same
WiFi router as your IP camera.

NOTE:
• For more information on connecting the IP camera to the WiFi network, please follow the the instructions written in
supplied Quick Guide.
To access the Web Client, perform the following:
1. Download and install the DeviceSearch software to your notebook.
NOTE: The DeviceSearch software is available at http://kguardsecurity.server289.com/kguard/
KguardWEBSite/Utility/IPcam/PLM00/.
2. Double-click the
icon to open the remote tool.
3. The program lists the IP camera by IP address. Click on the IP camera IP address field to open the IP camera
Web Client on your notebook default web browser.
NOTE: If you need to alter the connection parameters, do the modifications first and then click Modify to
save the settings.
Log In
1. Enter the user name and password.
2. Click Login to sign in.
NOTE: The default user name and password are “admin” and “123456”.

Live Screen
After you login to Web Client, the Live screen opens. On Live screen, you will see the live view from the IP camera,
access the Quick menu and functions on the Task bar, select a screen mode, and configure local and remote settings.

Screen Mode
Select the streaming mode between MainStream, SubStream, and MobileStream for the remote live view on
notebook. Modifications to the streaming mode do not affect the recorded video. You can also choose to display the
remote view in Portrait mode or Full Screen mode.

NOTE: Streaming mode settings depend on the streaming parameters set in “Video Streaming” on page 19.
Quick Menu
To configure the IP camera breathing, adjust the color settings, and start using Cruise mode, click the respective icon
shown in the Quick menu.

Remote Settings
Click Remote Settings to configure IP camera settings, such as video recording, network, storage, and etc.

Select this menu option to configure the display settings.

Configure Live display settings.
Name: Enter the IP camera

disable displaying IP camera
name on the Live screen.

on the Live screen.
Flicker Control: Set IP camera
mode depending on your
geographical location.
NOTE: 50Hz corresponds to
PAL mode and 60Hz to NTSC

Transparency: Set the menu transparency level from 1 to 128.

Configure the image control settings.
IR-CUT: Select the desired
built-in filter switch-over mode
to ensure the IP camera works
properly both in the daylight
and night.
IR-CUT Delay: Set the IR-CUT
switching time delay.
Flip/Mirror: Click the
respective checkbox to flip or
mirror the video image.
Back Light: Enable to compensate the darkness of the subject when shooting against bright light sources. For
example, sunlight.
3D Noise Reduction: Enable to digitally minimize video noise and extend the storage.
Level: Set the 3D noise reduction level.
WDR (Wide Dynamic Range): Enable to allow automatically adjust the brightness and contrast of the video when
shooting in the darkness with bright light sources.
AGC (Automatic Gain Control): Configure when shooting in changing lightning environments. The video image is
brightened in dark areas.
White Balance: Select the white balance level between Auto (automatic adjustment), Manual (manual adjustment of
red and blue gain), or indoor (optimized according to the indoor environment).
Shutter: Set the shutter mode.
Time Exposure: Select the exposure time of the IP camera.

Privacy Zone
Set the privacy zone on the video.
Privacy Zone: Click the
checkbox to enable selecting a
privacy zone.
Drag the cursor over the
desired area where you want
the privacy zone to appear. The
marked area is then filled with
maroon color, indicating the
zone location.
To delete, click on the privacy
area and then click Delete.
NOTE: The privacy zone is not visible on Live view as well as in the video file.
Record Menu
Select this menu option to configure the recording settings.
Rec Parameters
Configure the recording parameters.
Record: Enable or disable the
video recording.
Pack Duration: Set the time
interval how long video
material you want to save to
one video file.
Stream Type: Set the recording resolution. The available options include Main Stream (higher resolution) and Sub
Stream (lower resolution). To modify the streaming parameters, refer to “Video Streaming” on page 19.
Audio: Enable or disable the audio recording.
NOTE: Audio recording can only be enabled if Audio is enabled for the streaming mode. Refer to “Video Streaming”
on page 19.

Record Schedule
Set the recording schedule.
Week: Select a day of the week
when you want to set the
recording schedule.
Normal (green): Indicates
continuous recording.
Motion (yellow): Indicates
motion based recording.
Sensor (sensor): Indicates
wireless alarm sensor triggered
recording.
No Record: Indicates there
is no recording set for the
selected time slot(s).
Copy: Select the schedule of a day that you want to copy to another day (or All days). Then click Copy.
To set the recording schedule, drag the cursor over the upper (Normal), middle (Motion), or lower (Sensor) time
slot(s). In the example schedule, normal recording takes place from 12:00PM until 21:30PM. Motion and sensor
based recording takes place from 21:30PM until 12AM.
The recording begins when the system day and time matches with the set day and time in the schedule.
To delete a recording for the time slot, drag again the cursor over the desired time slot(s).
Record Snapshot
IMPORTANT! This feature is not supported with PLM00 IP camera.
Configure the snapshot capturing settings.
Snapshot: Enable or disable
capturing snapshots.
Interval: Set the snapshot
capturing interval.
Snapshot Type: Set the snapshot capturing resolution. The available options include MainStream, SubStream, and
MobileStream.
NOTE: Streaming mode settings depend on the streaming mode parameters in “Video Streaming” on page 19.

Network Menu
Select this menu option to configure the network settings.
Network Setting
Set the network parameters depending on your network type. The available options include DHCP (automatically
obtaining parameters), PPPoE (requires user name and password), or static (manual network configuration).
If you are not sure in your network type or settings, please contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
DHCP: This is the network type when a device on your network (usually a router)
assigns automatically all the network parameters for your camera.
Type: Select the network type
that you are using.
Client Port: Enter the port that
the IP camera will use to send
information through. If the
default port 9000 is already
taken by other applications,
please change it.
HTTP Port: Enter the connection
port for the Web Client. If the
default port 80 is already taken
by other applications, please
change it.
PPPoE: You need an authentication user name and password to the Internet. This
network protocol allows the device to be directly connected using a DSL modem.
Static: Requires all the network parameters to be filled in manually.

Mobile Port: The default
value. No need to modify this

IP Address: Enter the IP address
of the IP camera (for Static type
network only).
Subnet Mask: Enter the subnet
address of the IP camera (for

support UPnP, make sure the
port forwarding is completed

Set the default Wifi network connection settings.
Wifi: Enable or disable
connecting the IP camera to the
Wifi network.
SSID: Enter the SSID of the
default Wifi network manually
or double-click the desired SSID
shown in the table.
Pass Phrase: Enter a password for security-enabled Wifi network.
Video Streaming
Configure the video streaming parameters.
NOTE: You can set a different streaming mode for live view and video recording.
MainStream:
Resolution: Select the size of
the recorded video. The higher
the resolution, the larger the
file size.
FPS: Set the number of frames
per second the IP camera will
record.
Audio: Enable or disable audio.
SubStream:
I Frame Interval: Set the
video compression interval
when transmitting the video
over Internet. The shorter the
interval, the better the image
quality.
Bitrate Control: Select the
bitrate level and speed based
on the complexity of the scene.
For a simple scene, such as a
gray wall is suitable constant
bitrate (CBR) with lower speed.
For more complex scene, such
as a busy street is suitable
variable bitrate (VBR) with
higher speed.
MobileStream:
Quality: If you want to set the
bitrate by yourself, then select
User_Defined mode and set
the bitrate. For a preset bitrate
(2048), select Pre_Defined
mode.

Email
Configure the email settings.
Email: Enable or disable email
function.
SSL: Enable if your email server
requires SSL verification. If you
are not sure, please consult
your email service provider. For
example, if you are using Gmail
then this option should be
enabled.
SMTP Port: Enter the SMTP port of your email server. For example, if you are using Gmail, the SMTP port is 465.
SMTP Server: Enter the SMTP server address of your email.
Sender: Enter your email address.
Sender Password: Enter the password of your email.
Receiver 1/Receiver 2/Receiver 3: Enter the email address(es) where you want to receive the event notifications
from the IP camera.
Interval: Configure the length of the time interval between the notification emails from the IP camera.
DDNS
Configure the DDNS settings. DDNS provides a static address to simplify remote connection to your IP camera. To
use DDNS, you need to open an account on the DDNS service provider’s web page. For example, KGUARD.ORG:
http://www.kguard.org.
DDNS: Enable or disable DDNS
function.
Server: Select the preferred
DDNS server.
Host Name: Enter the host
name address. This will be the
address you type in the URL
box when you want to connect
remotely to the IP camera.
User Name/Password: Enter the user name and password you obtained when creating an account on the DDNS
service provider’s web page. For example, user name for KGUARD.ORG users is the email address you used when
creating the account on KGUARD.ORG web page.
After all parameters are entered, click Test DDNS to test DDNS settings.

IP Filter
Configure IP filter settings. To increase security, you can create a rule to deny or allow devices with certain IP addresses
to access the IP camera over the network.
Filter Mode: Select the filter
mode.
• Allow all IP connection: The IP filter is off and any device from Internet can connect to the IP camera.
• Allow the setted IP connection: Click Add to start adding IP address(es) you want to allow accessing the IP camera
over Internet. After adding the IP address, click Enable checkbox to activate the rule.
To delete, click on the IP address in the list and then click Del. Only devices with the listed IP addresses are allowed
to connect to the IP camera.
• Ban the setted IP connection: Click Add to start adding IP address(es) you want to ban accessing the IP camera
over Internet. After adding the IP address, click Enable checkbox to activate the rule.
To delete, click on the IP address in the list and then click Del. Devices with the listed IP addresses are denied to
connect to the IP camera.
RTSP
Configure RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) settings. Use the RTSP stream to enhance the remote connection to the
(ONVIF) IP camera.
RTSP: Enable or disable the RTSP
function.
RTSP Port: Set the connection
port for RTSP streaming.
To establish the connection, you need to enter the RTSP string to the URL-field of your computer’s web browser.
The beginning of the string is “rtsp://” followed by the IP address of the IP camera, the connection port, and the
streaming mode (0: Mainstream, 1: Substream, 2: Mobilestream).
For example, if the IP address of the IP camera is 192.168.0.124 and the streaming mode is Mainstream, then you
need to enter in URL field:
rtsp://192.168.0.124:554/0
FTP
Configure FTP settings.
FTP: Enable or disable the FTP
function.
User Name/Password: Enter
your FTP server user name and
password.
Server: Enter the FTP server IP
address.
Upload Interval: Select the upload interval.
Transfer Images: Check to allow uploading captured images.

Alarm Menu
Select this menu option to configure the alarm settings.
Motion
Configure the motion parameters. When a motion is detected, the system can be set to automatically initiate the video
recording and send the notification messages.
Enable: Click the checkbox to
enable motion detection.
Sensitivity: Select the sensitivity
level. “8” is the most sensitive.
Record: Click the checkbox to
initiate recording when the
motion is detected.
NOTE: When motion based
recording is activated, the “M”
icon appears on Live screen
during recording.
Record Time: Select the recording time in the event of detected motion.
Click the action checkbox(es) you want the IP camera to perform when the motion is detected. The available options
include sending a Mail Notification or Push Notification, Upload Image to FTP, lit Illumination Ring, or/and sound
Audio Alert.
Audio: Select the audio sound to emit an alarm tone when the motion is detected.
Duration: Set the audio sound duration.
By default, the whole screen is marked for motion detection (red blocks). If you want to disable the motion detection
on an area, you need to click the grid cursor and then drag the mouse to highlight the scope to unmark the area
(transparent block). Click Clear to remove motion sensitivity or click All to mark the whole screen as motion
sensitive.
Full screen is motion sensitive.
Partial motion sensitive.
Wireless Alarm Status
View the wireless alarm device status and set the delay time.
State: Set the connection state.
Delay Time(seconds): A
continuous trigger by alarm
sensors, such as window/door
sensor within this time period
will be considered as one single
trigger.
Click to enable the wireless alarm sensor(s).

Wireless Alarm Sensor
Configure the wireless alarm sensor parameters.
NOTE:
• The Alarm Kit can be added by scanning the QR code on the KGUARD alarm sensor and paired with the IP camera
only by using the mobile app called KViewLink. But when you reset the IP camera, you need to pair the Alarm Kit
with the IP camera again using the KViewLink app.
• If you purchased the Alarm Kit together with the IP camera (for example, DSH-001), then the IP camera and the
Alarm Kit are already paired at the factory and are ready for use.
Enable: Click the checkbox
to enable the wireless alarm
sensor.
Delay Time(seconds): Set the
event delay time. For example, if
the delay time is set 30 seconds

you will receive only one push
notification, email, etc.
Click the action checkbox(es) you want the IP camera to do when the alarm is triggered. The available options
include to initiate recording (Record), send a Mail Notification or Push Notification, Upload Image to FTP, lit
Illumination Ring, or/and sound Audio Alarm.
Audio: Select the audio sound to emit an alarm tone when the alarm is triggered.
Duration: Set the audio sound duration.
Device Menu
Select this menu option to configure the device settings.
SD Card
Configure the memory card settings.
NOTE: We recommended to use Class 10 micro SD card.
SD Card Overwrite: Set the
action the IP camera should
perform when the memory card
becomes full.
Format SD Card: Format the
memory card at first use or when
you replace the memory card.

Log
View the event log.
Log Type: Select the log type.
Begin Time/End Time: Select
the begin time and end time.
Search: After selecting the log
type and begin/end time, click
Search.
Delete: Select the log entry to
delete and click Delete.
First/Pre/Next/Last: Use the
navigation buttons to scroll the
log pages.
Audio
Configure the audio parameters.
Enable Audio: Click to enable
audio and ensure other audio
related settings are valid.
Output Volume: Select the
output volume (built-in speaker).
Input Volume: Select the input
volume (built-in microphone).
Audio Codec Type: G.711A is the only supported audio codec type.
Encode Bitrate: Display the encoding bitrate.
Audio File
IMPORTANT! This feature is not supported with PLM00 IP camera.
Configure the audio file settings.
File Use: Select how the audio
file is outputted.
Play: Enable or disable playing
the audio file.
Schedule: Set the audio file playing schedule.
Play File: Click Scan to select the audio file.

BreathingLight
IMPORTANT! This BreathingLight schedule is not supported with PLM00 IP camera.
Configure the breathinglight settings.
Enable: Click the checkbox to
enable breathinglight flashing.
Week: Set the schedule when
the breathinglight is flashing.
Copy: Select the schedule of a
day that you want to copy to
another day (or All days). Then
click Copy.
Flash (green): Indicates continuous beathinglight flashing.
None: Indicates the breathinglight is off for that time period.
To set the breathinglight flashing schedule, drag the cursor over the desired time slot(s).
To delete breathinglight flashing for the time slot, drag again the cursor over the desired time slot(s).
In the example schedule, the breathinglight is continuously flashing 24 hours.
System Menu
Select this menu option to configure the system settings.
Date/Time
Configure the date and time settings.
System Time: Modify the date
and time if necessary.
Date Format: Select the date
format. This is the format that
is used to display date on Live
screen.
Time Format: Display the time in 24-hour format or 12-hour format. This is the format that is used to display time on
Live screen.
DST: Click to use the daylight saving time.
• Daylight Saving Time (checkbox): Check to configure DST settings.
• Daylight Saving Time: Select the DST in weeks or in days.
• Time Offset: Select the amount of time to offset for the DST.
• Start Time: Set the start date and time.
• End Time: Set the end date and time.
NTP: Click to allow the system to synchronize date and time automatically with a NTP (Network Time Protocol) server.
• Enable NTP: Check to enable automatic date and time synchronization with a NTP (Network Time Protocol)
server.
• Server Address: Select the time server address.
• Time Zone: Select the time zone in your region.

Synchronize With Computer Time: Click to synchronize the time of the IP camera with the current time of your
notebook. After checking this option, the date and time configurations will be disabled as displayed below.
Users
Configure the user accounts. Click on the user account that you want to modify.
User Name/Password: Enter
new login credentials for the user.
Confirm: Re-type the password
to confirm.
Active: Select Enable to activate
the user account or Disable to
disable the user account.
Password: Select Enable to
require a password at login
or Disable to login without a
password.
User Privilege: Check the user account privilege(s). The available options include configuring system parameters
(Parameter Setting), view Live screen, and use Playback.
NOTE: The admin can assign one user to manage the alarm sensor configurations.
Info
View the system related information.
NOTE: If you need to scan the
QR code of the IP camera but
the sticker with the code on the
device has got damaged or is
out of reach, then here you can
find the device’s QR code.

Advanced Menu
Select this menu option to configure the advanced settings.
Firmware Update
Upgrade the system firmware.
Upgrade file path: Click Scan
and browse to the location of
the upgrade file.
Upgrade: Click to start upgrading
the system.
IMPORTANT! Make sure not to close the browser or turn off the IP camera while upgrading firmware.
Load Default
Check the menu items you want to restore to the factory default settings and click Save.
NOTE: After loading the factory
default settings, the system will
reboot automatically.
Maintain
Set the automatic reboot schedule.
Auto Reboot: Enable or disable
automatic reboot.
Reboot: Set the reboot schedule
and click Reboot.
After clicking Reboot, you are prompted to enter the password. Enter the password and click OK to start rebooting
the system.

Local Settings
Click Local Settings to specify the local path directory to save downloaded videos, files, and snapshots.
Record Path: Click

Snapshot Path: Click
to set a new path for manual recordings in the computer.

File Type: Select your preferred file type for manual recordings.
