RECOMMENDED GUIDELINES
LOCATION
This is a mechanical pump that emits noise at a constant rate. We recommend the unit be mounted in an area not in constant use by people or animals.
POWER SWITCH
We recommend controlling the unit through a lighted power switch to indicate the device is powered ON.
INTAKE
1/4 NPT fitting to ½” copper pipe.
EXHAUST
1/4 NPT fitting to 3/4” copper or 1” scd40 PVC pipe plumbed to outside the building.
OUTLETS
Any piped gas outlets (WAGD) can be used. No ceiling or wall valves are needed to control the flow rate, however, all active (suction style) evacuation systems require waste gas interface (WGI) balance valves on the anesthesia machines.
With pump style evacuation systems a flow meter is used in the WGI to control the flow to the anesthesia machines.
WASTE GAS INTERFACE
The EVC629 WGI with built in flow meter is engineered for this system and requires no additional calibration or maintenance. It is mounted on the anesthesia machine and attached to the pop off valve or non-rebreathing system via the blue 19mm hose.
Requires a minimum flow rate of 1 lpm above the oxygen flow rate on the anesthesia machine. We advise leaving it set at 6 lpm at all times.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Active Evacuation System
AES – anesthetic evacuation system utilizes a sealed evacuation unit to remove waste gas to the outside air. The AES wall or ceiling outlets are plumbed using copper pipe, and are connected to the anesthesia machine through the waste gas interface (WGI) device to balance the negative pressure.
1-20 Anesthesia Machines
Uses standard wall/ceiling outlets
Plumbed using copper pipe
Uses waste gas interface EVC629 to balance evacuation pressure on each anesthesia machine.
MAINTENACE
This AES unit is maintenance free.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
1. The no air is flowing.
Check the on/off switch. If the switch is half way on/off, the circuit breaker has been triggered. Reset the switch into the “ON” position.
2. The pump is on but not flowing air at the outlets.
Check the exhaust pipe for obstructions (animals, debris, etc.)
Check the intake pipes for loose joints
