Twin Cooling
Twin Cooling Plus will run both of the evaporators in optimal conditions and make it possible t
o maintain world’s best 75% of humidity in the fridge compartment.
This technology is an integration of a valve that features time-divided multi-cycle technology
(TDM). TDM cycle separately controls the temperatures of both evaporators and equalizes
pressures to the fridge and freezer.

Energy Efficiency
Save Money!
How can Samsung Refrigeration save the customer money?
ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerators require about half as much energy as
models manufactured before 1993 and ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerators
provide energy savings without sacrificing the features you want.
Energy Star qualified refrigerators use less energy than a 60 watt light bulb that is
run continuously. That is a great comparison we can all relate to.
Earning the ENERGY STAR
•ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerator models use high efficiency compressors, improved
insulation, and more precise temperature and defrost mechanisms to improve energy
efficiency.
•ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerator models use at least 20% less energy than required by
current federal standards and 40% less energy than the conventional models sold in 2001.

Questions?
Confidential Not for Distribution
General Terminology
•
Refrigerator - A device that contains a cooling process that occurs when gas
passes through the refrigerator absorbing heat from its contents. Once the
gas has cycled through the refrigerator it is converted into a liquid to release
the heat it has absorbed. Then it is super cooled and converted back into a
gas to once again pass through the refrigerator.
•
Refrigerant - The material used in refrigerators that is processed in the
system to absorb heat.
•
Compressor – The part that transports the refrigerant throughout the
refrigerator by increasing the pressure on the refrigerant.
•
Condenser - When the refrigerant passes through the compressor it is in a
gaseous state and still contains the heat that it has absorbed from the
contents of the refrigerator. The condenser releases the heat from the
refrigerant and returns it to a liquid state.
•
Evaporator - Converts the liquid that comes out of the condenser into a gas
causing the refrigerant to become super cooled, which allows the refrigerant
to absorb heat as it cycles through the refrigerator.

General Terminology
•
Defrosting - The process of removing ice build up
to aid in proper cooling. Current refrigerators go
through a process of Auto-Defrost which will
automatically melt any ice build up.
•
Drier – Part that removes excess moisture from
inside of the refrigerator.
•
Water Line - Tubing that connects the customers
water supply to a device such as a sink or a
refrigerator.
•
Coupler – Part that connects water lines together.
•
Water Filter – Part that uses materials to filter out
any unwanted particulate matter in water.
•
Water and Ice Dispensers – Parts built into the
exterior of many modern refrigerators to dispense
cool water and ice.

General Terminology
•
•
•
•
•
•
Demo Mode - In this mode, most of the functions
of the refrigerator function normally, except there
is no cooling because the compressor and
sealed system do not operate.
Door Bins - Storage compartments in the doors
of the refrigerator which can store gallon sized
items.
Crispers - Compartments that regulate humidity
to prevent spoilage of meats and vegetables.
Chill Compartment - A climate controlled
compartment of a refrigerator that can be
maintained at a lower temperature than the rest
of the refrigerator.
Temperature - The amount of heat in an object.
Humidity - The amount of moisture in the
surrounding environment.

General Terminology
•
Twin Cooling - Controls and generates cooling air
for the refrigerator and freezer separately, with
two independent evaporators and precise
electronic control.
•
Quatro Cooling - Has 4 compartments, each one

evaporator and fan.
•
Twin X Air Flow - A series of air ducts located in
the back corners on either side, creates a crossflow that spreads cool air evenly and efficiently.
•
Multi Air Flow - Cool air flows out through multiple
outlets in every shelf level and provides even
cooling throughout the refrigerator.
•
Cool Select Zone - This zone sits within the main
compartment and acts as a separate fridgewithin-a-fridge.
