Overview
The Intel® Media Server Studio 2016 – Premium Telecine Interlace Reverser (PTIR)
is a development library that exposes the media acceleration capabilities of Intel
platforms for video deinterlacing/inverse telecine processing. The API library covers a
wide range of Intel platforms.
The package includes the following component:

Intel® Media Server Studio 2016 – Premium Telecine Interlace Reverser Plugin, Windows* version 1.15.3.50, Linux* version 1.15.3.109
PTIR is a hardware accelerated (HW) library implemented as Intel® Media Server
Studio – SDK VPP plug-in.
New Features
The Intel® Media Server Studio 2016 – Premium Telecine Interlace Reverser:
Version 1.15.3.50 (Windows*), 1.15.3.109 (Linux*)

This is release version that introduces support for auto detection mode
with constant 30 frames per second output and input frame interlace
detection.
Version 1.13.2.12 (Windows*), 1.13.3.63 (Linux*)

This is release version that introduces support for reverse telecine removal
for a selected telecine pattern, auto detection mode with single frame rate
for telecine frames and double frame rate for interlaced frames.
Version 1.11.1.104 (Windows), 1.11.2.26 (Linux)

This is Pre-Release version that introduces support for Deinterlacing,
Deinterlacing with frame rate doubling, and reverse telecine.

System Requirements
Hardware
The following processor models are supported:

Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-128x v4

5th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel Iris™ Pro Graphics, Intel
Iris™ Graphics or Intel HD Graphics (5500, 6000, 6100, 6200).

Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-128x v3

4th Generation Intel Core™ Processors with Intel Iris™ Pro Graphics, Intel Iris
Graphics or Intel HD Graphics 4200+ Series (chipset compatibility is usually
not an issue for Core™ processors.)


Software (Linux only)

CentOS 7.1 (1503) of 64-bit architecture its default kernels.

Xf86-video-intel driver (needed only for if local rendering is required with the
LibVA X11 backed). Recommended version: 2.20.10,
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-intel/snapshot/xf86-videointel-2.20.10.tar.gz

Generic OS install uses kernel 3.14.5 from www.kernel.org.


purpose only.


Visual C++.

Known Limitations
The PTIR Plug-in has the following known limitations:






Software fallback implementation is not optimized thus performance is very
poor.
Current version of plugin doesn’t support region of interest VPP feature
(CropX and CropY parameters will be ignored).
Additional SDK session must be created to use traditional VPP features of SDK
HW Library.
HW acceleration is enabled for the 4th Generation Intel Core™ Processors and
Intel® microarchitecture code name Broadwell graphics, future generations
will use SW fallback.
HW-accelerated plug-in output may produce output not bit exact with SW
fallback mode: number of frames in cases where frame rate differs may
differ.
HW-accelerated plug-in output may produce output not bit exact with SW
fallback mode: cropped parameters will not work properly (CropX and CropY
parameters).
