Safety Regulations
English [en]
Print servers are network interfaces for printers in office environments and are designed
for the direct integration of printers into networks. Before starting the initial operation
procedure of your device, please note the following safety regulations:
•

Read the documentation and make sure that your system meets the requirements
listed therein.
Avoid contact with humidity or liquids.
The device must only be connected and operated if it is in perfect condition.
Make sure that no-one steps on or stumbles over the cables.
Before unpacking the device, take all necessary precautions to avoid damage to the
device board e.g. electrostatic discharges etc.
Do not connect a telephone cable to the RJ-45 connector. The RJ-45 connector may
only be connected to SELV voltages. For the connection to the RJ-45 connector only
STP cabling (category 5 or better) may be used. The shielding must fit flushly to the
connector.
The device is intended for installation within the printer and must not be used
externally.

Verbind geen telefoonleidingen met de RJ-45-stekker. Hierop mag uitsluitend extra
lage spanning (SELV, safety extra-low voltage) worden aangesloten. Gebruik voor de
aansluiting op de RJ-45-stekker uitsluitend STP-kabels (categorie 5 of hoger). De
afscherming van de kabel en van de stekker van de kabel dienen als in een vlak op

Cu Printserver sunt denumite interfeţele de reţea pentru imprimante de birou; aceste
servere au rolul de integrare directă a imprimantelor în reţele. Înainte de punerea în
funcţiune a aparatului dumneavoastră, aveţi în vedere următoarele prescripţii de
siguranţă:

Citiţi documentaţia şi asiguraţi-vă că sistemul dumneavoastră corespunde cerinţelor
enumerate.
Aparatul nu are voie să vină în contract cu umiditate sau lichide.
Aparatul se va conecta şi pune în funcţiune numai dacă este în stare intactă.
Amplasaţi toate cablurile în poziţii în care pericolul de împiedicare este exclus.
Înainte de scoaterea din ambalaj, întreprindeţi măsurile necesare pentru a evita
deteriorarea prin descărcări electrostatice.
Nu conectaţi fire de telefon la fişa RJ-45. La aceasta este permisă numai conectarea
tensiunilor de siguranţă scăzute. Pentru conectarea la fişa RJ-45, utilizaţi numai cablul
STP (categoria 5 sau superioară). Ecranarea cablului şi a fişei cablului trebuie să fie
îmbinate pe suprafaţă.
Folosirea aparatului este interzisă în afara imprimantei.

Mounting the Print Server
The PS112 is an Ethernet network interface card for the following Citizen printers:
CT-S300, CT-S2000, CT-S4000, PPU-700, and the CD-S500 series.
Do not connect the print server to other printer models!
The card is simply inserted into the slot of the serial or parallel interface. The
serial or parallel interface of the printer must be removed.
Prepare the printer
Proceed as follows:
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Disconnect the printer's power cord.
3. Remove the screws from the interface cover.
4. Remove the serial or parallel interface.
Insert the print server
Proceed as follows:
1. Insert the print server board into the slot until the board locks
into the receptacle.
2. Fasten the print server board screws.

Connect the print server
Proceed as follows:
1. Connect the network cable (RJ-45) to the print server.
2. Connect the printer's power cord to the printer.
3. Turn the printer on.
4. Press the status button of the print server in order to print out
a status page.
