that will guide you from the installation of the software through
to a simple search!

Get started - Smartphones
Before you can begin navigating you need to install the software,
activate the service and connect a GPS receiver. Please be aware that
the installation process may differ between the phone models. For
more detailed instructions on the installation procedure, please visit
www.allensportsusa.com/navigator
I. Installation
1. Go to http://allennav.net from the Internet browser in your
mobile phone.
Alternatively, you can visit http://allennav.net from your computer and
install the software by USB or Bluetooth transfer.
2. Accept connecting to the Internet. If you cannot connect to the
Internet, check your access points in the settings of your phone
or contact your network service provider and ask for an Internet
connection.
3. Open the link “Click here” to start downloading Wayfinder
Navigator™ Allen Sports Edition.
4. Answer Yes to the questions that you are asked before the
installation begins.
5. If there is a memory card/stick in your phone, you need to decide
if you want to save the software in the internal memory or on the
memory card/stick.
6. When installation is complete, the application will automatically
start up and you will be asked to activate the service(if the
application does not start automatically, click on the application
icon in the main menu).

II. Activation
Now it is time to connect to the Wayfinder server via the Internet
- GPRS, 3G or EDGE (not WAP). If you do not have a compatible data
subscription, please contact your network service provider.
1. When the application starts, read and accept the User Terms.
2. Allow connection with the Internet by pressing Yes.
We recommend you to choose Automatic Search for an Internet
Access Point. Accept the working Internet Access Point that is
found. If you do not have an Internet Access Point, a message with
the text “No Internet access point available” will be shown.
If your mobile phone does not automatically detect an Internet Access
Point, please contact your network service provider.
3. A view with three alternatives is shown. Highlight Activate and
press the joystick or use the stylus. Enter your activation code
found on the back of this manual. Thereafter, enter your phone
number in the international format, e.g 650-123-4567 should be
written +16501234567.
4. Select Send.
5. Complete your activation by allowing the application to send an
activation SMS to the Wayfinder server. Please note that you will not
receive a reply.
6. The main menu of Wayfinder Navigator™ Allen Sports Edition will be
displayed.

III.Connect the GPS receiver
1. Please read the instructions that came with your Allen Sports GPS
receiver. Charge the GPS receiver before you turn it on. Make sure
that it has a clear view of the sky; e.g. put it by a window if you
are inside a building or on the dashboard of your car.
Sometimes a PIN code is required when connecting the GPS receiver. The
Allen Sports GPS receiver uses 0000.
2. Open your Wayfinder Navigator™ Allen Sports Edition. In some cases
your GPS receiver will be connected through a set up guide that will
start automatically. If not, please follow the instructions below:
3. • Keypad phones: Select Menu/Options > Connect to GPS from the
main menu.*
• Sony Ericsson touch screen phones: Select More/ Wayfinder >
Connect to GPS*
• Windows Pocket PC phones: Click on this icon

4. The mobile phone searches for available Bluetooth units. Select your
Bluetooth GPS receiver in the list.
5. When the GPS receiver has pinpointed your position, the quality
will be shown in the
of your GPS position

display of your mobile phone. Usually it takes about 30 seconds
for the GPS receiver to find your position when turned on. In some
cases it could take a few minutes. Please note that the first time you
do this, it could take up to 20 minutes.
*If asked if you want to turn on the Bluetooth connection, answer yes.

IV. MyWayfinder.com
In addition to the navigation system in your mobile phone,
Wayfinder Navigator™ Allen Sports Edition also includes a personal
navigation homepage. When you have installed and activated the
application on your phone, you can access your personal account on
your computer. To be able to log on to MyWayfinder.com you need a
username and a password:
1. Go to the Settings menu from the main menu of the application by
selecting
2. In order to receive your Username go to Comm
(Communication) > Username.
3. In order to create your Password go to Comm (Communication)
> Password. Enter a password of 4 to 25 characters and then
press Save/OK and then Back.
At MyWayfinder.com you will be able to manage your account and
find a list of frequently asked questions, among other things.

Start navigating - Smartphones
Follow the instructions below to get started with your Wayfinder
Navigator™ Allen Sports Edition. For more details, please visit our

1. Make sure that you are connected to the GPS receiver and receiving
GPS-data.
2. Select Search
in the main menu.
3. Fill in the search fields. If you do not know the exact spelling,
only enter the first letters. The Country always has to be defined
(select the country from the list) together with at least one other
field to complete the search request.
Good to know: If the destination is close enough to your current position,
you can use My current position instead of entering the Town or Post
code and Country.
4. Start searching for the destination:
Keypad: press the joystick or select Menu/Options > Search
Touch screen: click on Search or on this icon
5. The address may be found in several towns with a similar name. In
this case, select the appropriate from the alternatives.
6. Highlight the desired destination with the joystick or the stylus
and press it down to calculate a route.
7. You will now be guided with voice instructions to your destination!

Get started - Java based phones
The following instructions only concern Java based phones. Please
be aware that the installation process may differ between the phone

4. Click on the link “Click here” to download the software and then
select Games or Applications to save the application on the
phone.

6. When the installation is complete the application appears and
you will be asked to enter your activation code, found on the
back of this manual. Thereafter, enter your phone number in
the international format e.g. 650-123-4567 should be written
+16501234567.
7. Select Send.

found should be marked with an asterisk*. Accept connection
with your Bluetooth GPS receiver.

II. MyWayfinder.com

Wayfinder Navigator™ Allen Sports Edition also includes a personal

Get started - BlackBerry
The following instructions only concern BlackBerry devices. Please
be aware that the installation process may differ between phone
models. For more detailed instructions on the installation procedure,
please visit www.allensportsusa.com/navigator
1. Please read the instructions that came with your Allen Sports GPS
receiver. Charge the GPS receiver before you turn it on. Make sure
that it has a clear view of the sky; e.g. put it next to a window if
you are inside a building or on the dashboard of your car.
2. Before you start the application you need to pair your GPS
receiver with your phone:
• Go to Settings in the main menu of the phone and select
Bluetooth.
• Make sure that Bluetooth is set to Enabled. Press the menu key
and select Add device.
• The phone will now start searching for available units. Select
your GPS receiver from the list.
NB! If you have device software 4.2 or 4.2.1 and have more than
one Bluetooth GPS device paired with your BlackBerry, then
you have to go back to the Settings menu of the phone, select
Advanced options > GPS and make sure that your GPS receiver is
selected there as well.
Sometimes a PIN code is required when connecting the GPS receiver. The
Allen Sports GPS receiver uses 0000.
3. Verify that you have Internet Access:
a) Look for an icon in the main menu named “Internet Browser”.
If this is present, please go directly to step 4.
b) Go into Settings > Advanced Options > Service Book. If this
view is empty, please contact your network service provider
to have service entries sent to your device. Once you have the
service entires, please begin from a).

c) If your BlackBerry is connected to an Enterprise Server, please
check with your server administrator to see if you can access
the Internet with applications such as Wayfinder Navigator™
Allen Sports Edition.
d) If the steps above do not work, please contact your network
service provider and ask for Internet Access Point settings that
allow unmodified HTTP traffic to pass through on port 80 or
12211. Enter the details in Settings > Advanced Options > TCP
(does not apply to BlackBerry 8707).
4. Go to http://allennav.net from the Internet browser in your
device.
5. Click on the link Click here and select Download to download
the software.
6. If asked to reboot your phone, please accept. When the phone
is rebooted, open the application by clicking on the Wayfinder
Navigator™ Allen Sports Edition icon in the program menu.
7. When the installation is complete, select Run to start the
application. You will now be asked to enter your activation code,
found on the back of this manual. Thereafter, enter your phone
number in the international format e.g. 650-123-4567 should
be written +16501234567
8. Press Send.
9. You will now be asked if you want to set up your GPS. Select Yes
and select your GPS from the list with paired GPS devices that are
shown.
10. The main menu of the application will be displayed.
11. When the GPS receiver has pinpointed your position, the quality
of your GPS position
will be shown in the map view of your
mobile phone. X means that there is no GPS data. Usually it takes
about 30 seconds for the GPS receiver to find your position when
turned on. Please note that the first time you do this, it could take

as well as in the information supplied through or in conjunction with the Service.
The Service is supplied “as is”. Furthermore, the Customer understands that those
maps and other information from third parties on which the Service is based may be
incomplete, incorrect or defective and that Wayfinder Systems AB is not responsible
for these errors or deficiencies. However, in the case of defects that make it
impossible to use the Service, Wayfinder Systems AB will with reasonable efforts take
corrective measures as soon as possible.
The information provided through the Service is to be seen as recommendations
and should not be viewed by the Customer as instructions. If a recommendation
supplied through the Service deviate from local traffic regulations or other local
conditions, the Customer must always abide by and take into consideration these
local regulations and conditions. Use of the Service is at the Customer´s own risk and
it is always the Customer´s responsibility and duty to act in a manner that will not
jeopardize the traffic safety of the Customer or any other person.
