The MX-5000 is a 2-way wand-style touch screen color remote that provides network control of many popular IP-based components. In addition to its stunning design it offers a fully customizable GUI on a large color screen that sends vibrating “haptic” feedback confirming each button selection.

In operation, it’s incredible. Now, you can see the actual volume setting no matter what you are listening to or whether the TV is on or off. No more peering into the equipment rack just to “make sure” the volume isn’t set too high!

Whenever you touch the Volume Up, Down or Mute buttons on the MX-5000, a pop up display, connected real time with your AVR, displays the current volume as you adjust it. Once you’ve stopped adjusting volume, the popup display conveniently disappears!

The MX-5000’s bright, vivid color touch screen is mounted in a remote control where every surface, every contour, and every button has been designed to feel “right.” Since WiFi 2-way delivers so much more fun, you’ll need twice the battery life of other products and the MX-5000 delivers it invisibly, without excess weight or bulk. The weight is perfectly positioned to balance in your hand. Contours are shaped and molded into the back so that your hand can find the perfect position. The entire rear is covered with a soft texture that feels perfect against your palm.

2-Way RS-232 via MRX-1 Network Base Station

The MRX-1 is a true bridge between the network and IR,

RS-232 and relay-controlled devices. In addition, it provides 2-way status and feedback via RS-232 and a voltage/video sensor to network keypads and remotes. Each MRX-1 controls two 2-Way RS-232 Devices, one relay and up to six IR devices.

The MRX-1 serves as a “converter” to RS-232 controlled devices, enabling your MX-5000 to communicate over the network to an equipment rack located anywhere in your house. Since the conversion is both ways, your RS-

232 device can be both controlled and can update your

MX-5000 with the current status, and display volume pop ups, tuner interfaces and lists of AVR radio presets etc. all on the screen of the MX-5000.

In addition, the MRX-1 provides the MX-5000 with control over relay and IR controlled devices.

The MX-5000 offers two independent communications and control methods simultaneously. It provides both a narrow band

418 MHz transmitter for instant control of conventional home theater components and a WiFi transceiver for high speed transfer of cover art, artist, album and title metadata.

The high speed of the built-in 802.11 B/G WiFi transceiver enables the MX-5000 to display lists of artists, albums or songs and to display the cover art of the selected album on the Now Playing screen of the remote control.

Internet Connection Provides Real Time News, Sports, Weather and Stocks

When the MX-5000 is connected to the Internet, pre-programmed modules enable instant access to personalized news, sports, weather and stocks.

Unlike other devices, the MX-5000’s news, sports, weather and stocks modules are user-configurable without a programmer or a PC. On a whim, you can check out the opposing team’s scores, or get the weather forecast for a vacation destination.

Whenever you adjust the volume or press the Mute button, the MX-

5000 pops up a dynamic link to your IP controlled Audio Video receiver (the URC 2-Way database includes popular IP controlled products from Denon, Yamaha, Integra and B&K) and displays a bar graph on the screen of the MX-5000. If you need to adjust the sound before the movie starts, you can check the actual setting in real time, by simply touching one of the Volume buttons.

At last, you can fully control the lighting in your home without expensive black boxes and exotic wiring. A lighting system can be as simple as a single URC RF lamp dimmer on a lamp that you’d love to control without getting out of your chair.

The MX-6000 directly controls lights connected to URC RF Dimmers and Switches. You can brighten, dim, and recall scenes, and you can store new scenes whenever you like, without a PC or a programmer.

Simply manually adjust each dimmer to the new setting, then press and hold the scene button on your MX-6000 (just like storing radio stations in your car).

Unlike other WiFi remote controls, the MX-5000 uses a second RF

(Radio Frequency) transmitter to control conventional gear instantly, without the frustrating delay of waiting for the remote control to

This provides you with instant “no rules control” of AV receivers, flat screen TVs, projectors, cable and satellite receivers, DVD players and changers.

Narrow Band ensures that broadband RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) will be ignored. However, RFI can also be site specific and centered on a particular band. For this reason, the MX-5000 can be specified in either the standard 418MHz version or the MX-5000i 433MHz

Lithium Ion battery, providing over 4 hours of continuous use before recharging is necessary. Should the MX-5000 be left on a table, it will remain in standby mode for 9 days without requiring a recharge.

The attractive charging base offers an ideal angle to use while charging, so may be placed on or near your chair. In addition, the MX-5000 offers a power input at the base of the remote, so that it can be hand held while charging directly from the power adapter.

Automatic Backlighting

The integral motion sensor detects any movement of the touch screen and automatically backlights the screen. The user does not have to press any button to display the screen. Any movement of the

MX-5000 renews the backlighting. Without movement, the touch screen stays lit for 1 to 99 seconds

(programmed by the installer).

MSC-400 Compatibility

The MX-5000 is compatible with the ultra-reliable MSC-

400 “Trigger” protocol, which enables complex macros, stored in the MSC-400, to be individually triggered with a single button push on the MX-5000 regardless of the interference and noise in the environment.

The combination of very narrow transmission of digitally encoded packets sent THREE times at digital speeds in milliseconds assures that every button press on the

MX-5000 is compatible with the MSC-400 Master System Controller remote will be received by the MSC-400. The MSC-400’s sophisticated error correction circuitry stores all three packets and compares them. Once two packets are identified as identical, the MSC-400 goes to work.

This new technology not only increases range, but increases reliability by a vast margin.
