Turn On the Printer

Gently shake the ink cartridges, then unpack them.
Connect the power cord.
Load Paper

Slide the paper support into the slot at the back of the printer.

Insert the output tray into the slot at the front of the printer.

Squeeze the left edge guide and slide it to the left.

Fan a few sheets of paper and place them against the right edge
guide. Load the printable side face-up and the short edge first
(even when printing landscape-oriented documents).
Read these instructions before using the printer.

Make sure you have all these items. If anything is missing, contact
Epson as described on the back of this sheet.
Remove only the yellow tape from each cartridge.
Do not touch

Remove all the protective materials from outside and inside
the printer.

Close the ink cartridge cover and
press it down.
Install Ink Cartridges
Caution: Keep ink cartridges out of the reach of children and do not drink
the ink.
Note: The first time you install ink cartridges, the printer uses some ink
to charge the printing system, so print yields may be lower with the first
cartridges. Subsequent ink cartridges will last their full rated life.

Close the printer cover.
Open the printer cover.

Lift open the ink cartridge cover.

Press the maintenance
button to charge the ink.
Charging takes approximately
2 minutes.
Caution: Never turn off the printer while the green
flashing or you’ll waste ink.

Problems?

Edition and Windows Vista®, and Mac OS® X 10.3.9 to 10.5.x.
Note: For instructions on printing in Mac OS X 10.5.x, see the on-screen
User’s Guide.
If your problem is listed here, try these suggestions. For more information,
see your software Help or your on-screen Epson User’s Guide.
Windows

Load plain paper or special Epson media for the document or photo
you want to print.
The maintenance light is
on (nothing prints).

Open the document or photo and select Page Setup from the File
menu. You see the Page Setup window:

When you see this screen, click Open the Printer List.
Make sure your printer is on but NOT
CONNECTED to your computer.
Note: If you see a screen like this,
click Cancel and disconnect the
USB cable. You cannot install your
software that way.

or image orientation
Insert the Epson Stylus T20 CD.
With Windows Vista, if you see
the Auto Play window, click Run
Epsetup.exe. When you see the
User Account Control screen,
click Continue.

Select English.

Click Install and follow the
on-screen instructions. Software
installation takes several minutes.

Click Next again, if necessary.

Follow the on-screen instructions to install the rest of the software
and print a test page.

Eject the CD.

Select Stylus T20 in the Format for menu, and choose your paper size
and document orientation. Then click OK.

Open the File menu and select Print. You see a window like this one:
When prompted, connect the USB cable to the printer and any open
USB port on your computer.
Select Stylus T20 in the Printer menu and open the Print Settings menu:
Select Automatic
mode
Load plain paper or special Epson® media for the document or photo
you want to print.

select Print or Print Setup from
the File menu. You see a window

Select Color or Black ink

Choose your print settings and then click Print.

To monitor the progress of your print job in OS X 10.3.9 to 10.4.x, click
the
printer icon when it appears in the dock on the bottom of your
desktop.
Make sure EPSON Stylus
T20 Series is selected.
Photo Paper Glossy
Bright, instant-drying paper for great looking photos
and projects. Available in different sizes, with or
without margins.
Genuine Epson Inks
Look for the numbers below to find your cartridges.
It’s as easy as remembering your number!

Resume printing
When you’re done, remove the CD.
Cancel printing
Click the Properties or Preferences button. (If you see a Setup, Printer,
or Options button, click it first. Then click Properties or Preferences on
the next screen.) You see the basic print settings window:

button to eject it.
Then follow the tips to the right of the screen to add the printer.
