Nonhuman Primate Viral Serology and PCR Testing Services
1Q In order to submit a bid for this proposal is it a requirement that the contractor have an E-commerce system
in place to receive electronic orders and payments?
1A No
2Q On Page 17, Attachment B: Specifications, in section 1. “perform serology testing for Herpes B, SIV, STLV, SRV,
RRV, and AAV and PCR for STLV and SRV according to specifications in 2.
My question is that 2.1 states that “the primary method for serological testing could be a multiplexed
fluorometric immunoassay utilizing bead-based Luminex platform or ELISA or any other novel system that
provides accurate and reproducible results.”
As a multiplex assay, it would be the individual test (Herpes B, SIV, STLV, SRV) are all represented in a single
test that provides results for all the tests. But the pricing is as a multiplex, so includes all of the results for 1
price. How can I reflect this in the current bid? Attachment C has each listed as an individual test, and I would
like to indicate that it is one price for Panel A (Herpes B, SIV, STLV, SRV), another price for the PCR (STLV and
SRV), another price for just RRV, and another price for the AAV 1-8 panel?
2A Please note on attachment C which items your pricing includes. If you need to include additional pages or
information, please include with your bid.
3Q Please clarify which strain(s) of Adeno Associated Virus you would like your NHP colony screened for.
Typically screening is performed for AAV-2, but we can test for other strains. Was the intent to have
screening for all 11 strains of AAV?
3A. Our current PIs are interested in animals that are AAV-1 negative but we may request testing for other
AAV strains.
