Verify Power to the DACP Verify Communications with the PCU Verify Power to the PCU Theory of Operation: The DACP control panel for the Coastal is an interface into the PCU for configuration of the antennas tracking setting and configuration of the PCU. A 12VDC power supply is connected to the control panel to power the unit; this 12VDC is then passed to the PCU via the control cable to energize the pedestal. RS‐422 communications are also sent to and from the control panel to the PCU via the antennas control cable to configure settings and receive from data the PCU such as the AGC value and network identity (NID). 4.
Verify Power to the DACP: The DACP is powered by 12VDC, if the control panel won’t energize by pressing the power button power button measure across the + and – pins on the rear of the control panel and verify if the 12VDC is present, if not troubleshoot the power source. If the 12VDC is present and the control panel won’t energize verify if the fuse in the back of the control panel has blown. If so trouble shoot potential problems and replace the fuse. If the 12VDC is present and the fuse is intact yet the control panel won’t energize the unit is defective and needs to be replaced. Another potential fault with the DACP is if the display illuminates but no characters are displayed, if that is the case there is a hardware failure of the unit and it needs to be replaced. 5.
Verify Communications With the PCU: If the control panel is energized and permanently displays “DACP VER 1.XX” this is an indication that the control panel is powered, but not communication with the PCU assembly. Verify if the pedestal is powered, if the pedestal is powered yet no feedback is being received from the PCU this is an indication of a communications problem verify the pin out of both the BDE to ADE control cable and the interface harness on the pedestal itself as per the below diagrams. If continuity is good between the harness connections and no shorts are detected across the cables then the control panel is potentially defective, replace the control panel. If the control panel is replaced and communications with the PCU are not established replace the PCU assembly (the original control panel can be refitted as it’s unlikely to be defective). Verify Power to The PCU: If the pedestal isn’t energized but the harness connections have continuity with no shorts measure the voltage on pins 15 (+12VDC) and 14 (GND) on the interface harness D‐sub connector entering the PCU assembly. If the voltage is present yet the pedestal is not energized the PCU is defective and needs to be replaced. If no voltage is present at the D‐sub connector entering the PCU verify if the voltage is present exiting the pedestal control cable on pins 9 (+12VDC) and 5 (GND). Replacing the DACP Control Panel: 7.1.

#1 Phillips Screwdriver 2mm Flat Blade Screwdriver *Note: Tools may vary depending on installation. Procedure. Procedure for replacing the DACP control panel, Sea Tel kit part number: 135915 (DACP assembly part number: 119547). *Caution: Isolate the power from the DACP control panel before following this procedure. 1. Remove the 4 mounting screws securing the DACP control panel. 2. Disconnect the DC power cables from the termination block on the rear of the DACP. 3. Disconnect the control cable from the rear of the DACP. 4. Connect the DC power cables and control panel into connections on the rear of the replacement control panel and install it using the hardware removed in step 1. Page 3 of 3 Document No
