A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT:
Hello Roxbury Families!
We had an easy January with weather, hope it keeps up and Spring comes soon! The building of the
yearbook is well under way. I have already seen several pages and it is amazing! The talented Liz
Roberto pours everything into the yearbook. Endless hours, so please give her a ‘Thank you’ if you see
her! We also have a fantastic group of people in the workroom each and every week. They assist the
staff with small projects, copying and many other requests that come their way. Thank you, we greatly
appreciate all the work you do!
We celebrated another spirit day with popcorn, which the kids absolutely love. Thank you to Lori Sikon
and those that were popping! Another thank you to Susan Keough and Amy Sordi for managing our
Reflections entries! We had some outstanding submissions this year and several moving onto state!
Thank you to all of those people that donated to the Miozzi family! We will be taking those gift
cards/money to her to help out the family during this challenging time. A special thanks to Liz Roberto
for organizing this collection!
We have Valentine’s parties, some family fun at the Chagrin Valley Roller rink and then COSI coming up
on March 8th! Please consider joining in one or all!
We are starting to look for board positions for next year! If you are interested, please email
[email protected]!
Thank you for all of your support!

FREE LUNCH!!!
Now that we have your attention….we need your help!!! On Tuesday March 8th, COSI will be bringing
“Exploring Ecology” to Roxbury. We are in need of 20 volunteers to spend the day with us. You may be
thinking that you need to be an expert in science, but that is just not true!! Your main job is to have
FUN! Your role during the day will be to help guide the students during their hands-on sessions. NO
EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY!!! And yes, we will provide a light breakfast AND lunch for your time. This is
a great experience for grandparent volunteers, too. We encourage you to spend the entire day with us.
It will begin at 7:30 am in the gym for orientation with the COSI instructor. A school wide assembly and
then hands on sessions will follow. Lunch is scheduled from 11:30-12:00.
Please contact Rachel Arnopolin at [email protected] or 216-702-7131 or Dawn Dunmire
[email protected] or 216-990-1505 for any questions or to volunteer.
OPEN POSITION:
The Food Service Department is in need of substitutes in all Solon School cafeterias. The hours are
short, usually two to 3 ½ hours per day and the pay is competitive. The work consists of helping to set
up serving lines, serving meals to students, restocking supplies, and assisting with clean-up.
It’s a great job for moms who want to be at home when the kids are there, but would like to work a few
days a week with flexible scheduling. Applications can be done online. Go to the Solon Website and
click on Job applications, online application. It’s that easy!
Orchard Middle School
Do you have a fifth-grader coming to Orchard Middle School next year? Please consider heading up one
of our PTA committees! Because our school is only two years, we often have turnover and are looking
for new help and fresh ideas! We have openings with book fair, the food and toy drive, spirit wear, staff
appreciation, welcome to school parties, and splash parties. Please email Danielle Rose at
[email protected] with any questions or any interest- THANKS!
