1 SUPPORTED DEVICES
Mobile Pay Plus EMV Chip and Pin processing is compatible with:
iOS Devices
The Ingenico PIN pad is compatible with the iPad using the iOS 7.0+ and higher
operating system. For detailed information about third-party Bluetooth features
of your iOS device, go to Apple's Support Site.
Ingenico iCMP PIN pad Device
The user guide you received with your PIN pad provides you with a basic
introduction to the device. For online support information, go to iCMPOverview.
iCMP PIN pad Updates
Occasionally you will be notified that an update is required to the
software on your PIN pad. It will only take about two minutes to
complete.
1. Make sure you have Internet access and your PIN pad is
connected by Bluetooth.
2. Click Update PIN pad.
3. Process a sales transaction to complete the update

2 Log into the App
2 LOG INTO THE APP
When you signed up for First Data Mobile Pay Plus processing, as the account
administrator, you were sent an email with a login name and password to access
the system.
1. Open the app and sign in with your Company Name, User Name, and
Password. The logins are case-sensitive, so make sure you type them
exactly as they are in the welcome email.
Note: If you try your password more than three times, you will be locked out
of your account. You must wait 30 minutes before trying again.
2. To save your login credentials, tap Remember Me—no need to log in
each time you open the app.

3. Tap Sign In. The Sale screen opens.
Troubleshooting
If you are having problems with the app, try these steps:
l
Power cycle your device and log back in to the app.
l
Delete the app from your device and reinstall it from the Apps store.
l
Perform a Force Quit to close and reopen the app.

3 MOBILE PAY PLUS SETTINGS
After you log in, the Main screen opens. There are several options to help you set
up your Mobile Pay Plus app. Open the menu
your app.

Accounts & Currencies: Coming Soon! The option to switch between CAD and
USD.
Applicable if you signed up to process transactions in more than one currency or
you have more than one user set up in the online member area. After your
currency settings are stored, you can switch between currencies:
1. On the Settings screen, tap Accounts and Currencies.
2. Tap the Account for the currency you are using.
Tax: Specify up to two tax rates. If required for provincial or state taxes, you have
the option to apply tax2 to tax1. See Taxes.

Processing Options: Turn on options for the order number, pre-authorizations,
printing, and tips. See Processing Options.
PIN pad: Open the Mobile Pay Plus Get Started Guide in PDF format to learn
how to pair the PIN pad with your iPad.
Item Categories: Tasks related to the Categories are done in the Settings option
on the menu. See Inventory on the iPad.
Language: Select Canadian or American English.
Remember Me: Tap to turn On and save your credentials—no need to log in
again when you reopen the app.
Help and Support: Open the Online Help.

3 Mobile Pay Plus Settings
3.1 TAXES
Taxes are calculated automatically with each sale, based on the options you
select. You can apply two different tax rates to transactions. To accommodate
provincial and state taxes, you also have the option to apply tax2 to tax1 if
required.
1. Open the menu and tap Settings> Tax.
2. Slide the button to turn Tax 1 on.

Enter a Tax Name and Rate for Tax 1.
If you are using a second tax, slide the button to turn Tax 2 on.
Enter a Tax Name and Rate for Tax 2.
If you use two taxes, you have the option to Apply Tax 2 to Tax 1. Slide
the button to turn it on.

3.2 PROCESSING OPTIONS
On the Settings screen, tap Processing Options. You can customize the level
of transaction detail to be collected for each sale.
Order Number: Select On to record the Order Number as part of the
transaction. On the Sale screen, tap
to enter the Order
Number.
Pre-Authorization: Select On to allow pre-authorization transaction
processing—this button displays on the Sales screen
,
where you can tap Pre-Auth to process a pre-authorization sale.
Printing: Select On to allow printing receipts with a transaction.
Tip: Allows your customer the option to leave a tip with their purchase
See Tips and Gratuities.
3.3 TIPS AND GRATUITIES
The Mobile Pay Plus app allows you to collect a tip or gratuity from your
customers during a sale, or pre-authorization transactions.
Enable Tips
1. Open the menu and tap Settings> Processing options> Tip.

2. Slide the button to turn Tips on. This gives the customer the option to enter
a tip amount or use a slider to select a percentage.
3. Slide the button to turn Preset Tip Amounts on.
4. Enter an amount for one or more Tip Percentages.
5. Tap Options to go back to the Settings menu.
Add a Tip during a transaction
1. Tap Add Tip.
2. There are three ways a customer can leave a tip:
l
Enter a $ amount. At the top, the Tip shows as a percentage.
l
Move the slider. The amount changes and the Tip shows as a
percentage.
l
Tap one of the preset tip percentages.

4 INVENTORY ON THE IPAD
In the Mobile Pay Plus app, the inventory is on the left side of the sales screen.
This is where you do the tasks related to inventory items.
Tasks related to the Categories are done in the Settings option on the menu.
4.1 CATEGORY TASKS ON THE SETTINGS
MENU
You can create new categories, reorder categories, and delete a category.
Create a Category
1. Tap the menu, then Settings> Item Categories.
2. Tap Add.
3. Type the Category Name and then tap Save. The new category is added to
the bottom of the list—you may need to scroll down to see it.
4. To move the category up in the list, tap Reorder.

On Mobile Pay Plus iPad app you can select items from the inventory to add to
your sale. You also have the option to add a special item that is not in your

5.1 SALES SCREEN OVERVIEW
This topic gives you an overview of the Sales screen. The inventory and
categories are on the left side, and the sales area is on the right.
There are explanations for each numbered item and links when more details are
required.
Category Name – Tap the arrow
left or right.

5.2 CATEGORY TASKS ON THE SALES
SCREEN
Categories are on the left side of the Sales screen. This topic explains how to do
tasks related to the Categories. See Sales Screen Overview. for detailed
information about processing a sale.
Open a Different Category
There are two ways to do this:

Swipe left or right.

At the top, beside the Category name, click the arrow

6. Tap Confirm. The app shows PIN pad ready. Pass the PIN pad to the
customer.

7. Tap Pay. Ask the customer to follow the prompts on the PIN pad. The app
shows as processing.
8. The app shows the transaction is complete. Do one of the following:

Tap Done to complete the transaction.

5.4 PROCESS MANUAL CREDIT CARD SALES
(CARD NOT PRESENT)
Use these instructions to complete a sales transaction where the iCMP device is
not available to the customer, or the card is not present. For example, a sale over
the phone.

1. To find different items for sale, swipe to the left or right, or tap the arrow
next to the Category name at the top.

6 Processing Pre-Authorizations
6 PROCESSING PREAUTHORIZATIONS
With Mobile Pay Plus processing, you can only process a credit card preauthorization completion for the full amount of the pre-authorization hold.
Before you start, enable Pre-Authorizations.

3. Tap Pre-Authorization to enable. This icon

There are two steps for pre-authorizations. The first is the actual pre-authorization
transaction, where the purchase amount is applied to the customer’s credit card as
a hold. There are two options to process a pre-authorization:
l
Step 1 – Processing Pre-Authorizations with iCMP – Complete a preauthorization using the app and the iCMP device.
l
Step 1 – Manual Pre-Authorization (No Device) – Complete the first
step of a pre-authorization by keying in the card details. This step is best if
you have the app, but no iCMP device.
You must complete the second step within a few days. Card associations have
established protocols for this process, preventing the holding of customer’s money
beyond a reasonable time. This transaction completes the pre-authorization by
removing the held funds from the customer’s credit card.
l
Step 2 – Pre-Auth Completion
You can also process a pre-authorization through the Online Member area even if
the initial transaction occurred through the app.

iCMP device is not available to the customer, or the card is not present. For

6.3 STEP 2 - PROCESS PRE-AUTHORIZATION
COMPLETION
To meet credit card association protocols, the pre-authorization completion must
be processed within a few days of the first pre-authorization step (of holding
customer funds).
Completing a Pre-Auth from the menu option is the quickest option, but you can
also complete it from the Transaction History.

1. Log in to the online member area at:
https://www.beanstream.com/admin/sprout_sDefault.asp
2. On the menu, click reporting/analysis> transaction report.
3. Use the search and sort fields at the top of the screen to select report criteria
and then click Refresh (bottom of screen). The list opens with basic
transaction details, including the credit card transaction (CC) approval
or decline
.
4. To download the transaction report, click Download. The file is in .csv
format so you can open it as an Excel, Word, or custom file format.
5. To view transaction details, click a line item.
You can also go to reporting/analysis> transaction search in the left menu to
view or download transaction details.

8 Process Refunds
8 PROCESS REFUNDS
You can process Refunds for credit, debit, cash, and cheque transactions.
Refunds for debit transactions are processed as a cash refund. Refunds are done
automatically, you do not need to use the PIN pad.

These are some of the situations you may come across when using the Mobile
Pay Plus app.
Invalid XML format (Code(null)) error
If you get the Invalid XML format (Code(null)) error after submitting a transaction,
there may be special characters in one of the input fields—Notes, Order Number,
Name, Cheque Number, Amount Received, and so on. Remove any special
characters from these fields.
I cannot complete a transaction
Usually, a simple on-screen message should explain why you cannot complete a
transaction. This occurs if the customer has an invalid card or if you have a keyed
entry error. However, if you consistently cannot process transactions, you may be
experiencing a system setup or configuration issue.

What if I receive a call during a transaction?
The Mobile Pay Plus app is designed to suspend and allow you to take to calls.
After the call is completed, the app takes you back to where you were.
