WARNING
WARNING
PROTECT AGAINST FLYING DEBRIS
Always wear proper safety glasses, goggles, or a face shield when driving
pins in or out or when any operation causes dust, flying debris, or any other
hazardous material.
LOWER OR SUPPORT RAISED EQUIPMENT
Do not work under raised 3 point lift arms without supporting them. Do not
use support material made of concrete blocks, logs, buckets, barrels, or any
other material that could suddenly collapse or shift positions. Make sure
support material is solid, not decayed, warped, twisted, or tapered. Lower lift
arms to ground level or onto blocks. Lower lift arms and attachments to the
ground before leaving the cab or operator’s station.
USE CARE WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID PRESSURE
Hydraulic fluid pressure can penetrate the skin and cause serious injury or
death. Hydraulic leaks under pressure may not be visible. Before connecting
or disconnecting hydraulic hoses, read your prime movers operator’s manual
for detailed instructions on connecting and disconnecting hydraulic hoses or
fittings.
• Keep unprotected body parts, such as face, eyes, and arms as far away

EQUIPMENT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
NOTICE
Safety is a primary concern in the design and manufacture of our products.
Unfortunately, our efforts to provide safe equipment can be wiped out by a
single careless act of an operator. In addition, to the design and configuration
of equipment, hazard control and accident prevention are dependent upon
the awareness, concern, prudence, and proper training of personnel involved
in the operation, transport, maintenance, and storage of equipment. The
designed and tested safety of this equipment depends on it being operated
within the limitations as explained in this manual.
INITIAL SET-UP AND SYSTEMS CHECK
• Always check with your prime mover manual or dealer for counter weight
ballast that may be required for machine stability.
• Air in hydraulic systems can cause erratic operation and allows loads or
equipment components to drop unexpectedly.
• Before operating equipment purge any air in the system by engaging all
hydraulic functions.

movements are correct.
Make sure all hydraulic hoses, fittings and valves are in good
condition and not leaking before starting power unit. Check and route
hoses carefully to prevent damage.
Hoses must not be twisted, bent sharply, kinked, frayed, pinched, or
come into contact with any moving parts.
Operate moveable components through full operational range to check
clearances. Replace damaged hoses immediately.
Ensure implement is properly attached, adjusted and in good condition.
Tractor must be equipped with ROPS and seat belt/operator restraint.
Keep seat belt/operator restraint securely fastened/engaged. Falling off
tractor can result in death from being run over or crushed. Keep ROPS
systems in place at all times.
SAFELY OPERATE EQUIPMENT
• Improper operation can cause the machine to tip or roll over and cause
injury or death.
• Keep tractor lift arms and attachment as low as possible.
• Turn on level ground.
• Go up and down slopes, not across them.
• Keep the heavy end of the machine uphill.
• Only engage power when equipment is at ground level. Always
disengage power when equipment is raised off the ground.
• Do not disconnect hydraulic lines until all system pressure is relieved.
• Never go underneath equipment lowered to the ground or raised.
Hydraulic system leak down, hydraulic system failures, mechanical
failures or movement of control levers can cause equipment to drop or
rotate unexpectedly and cause severe injury or death.
• Never direct discharge toward people, animals or property.
• Do not operate equipment while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Operate only in the daylight or good artificial lighting.
• Always comply with all state and local lighting and marking requirements.
• Ensure equipment is properly attached, adjusted and in good operating
condition.
• Before starting tractor, check all equipment driveline guards for damage
and make sure they rotate freely on all drivelines. Replace any damaged
guards. If guards do not rotate freely on drivelines, repair and replace
bearings before operating.
• Make sure driveline is correct length to prevent bottoming out or pulling
apart during the full lift range of the hitch.
• Make sure spring-activated locking pin or collar slides freely and is
seated firmly in tractor PTO splined groove.
• A minimum 20% of tractor and equipment weight must be on tractor front
wheels with attachments in “transport” position. Without this weight,
tractor could tip over causing personal injury or death. The weight may
be attained with a loader, front wheel weights, ballast in tires, or front
tractor weights. When attaining wheels, you must not exceed the Roll
Over Protection Structure (ROPS) weight certification. Weigh the tractor
and equipment. Do not estimate.

OPERATIONAL PROCEDURE
NOTICE
The Harley Power Seeder is designed for applying seed directly onto
conditioned soil, in conjunction with the Harley Power Rake®. This manual
contains information for the PS5 & PS6 model. Refer to the information in this
manual for specifications, parts, assemblies and adjustments.
The Harley Power Seeder used with the Harley Power Rake®, allows the operator to
pulverize and condition the seedbed, while at the same time, drop a metered amount of seed
onto a prepared bed and gently compress the seed into the seedbed.
When operating the Power Rake with Seeder attached, the rake should not be angled. The end
plates should be mounted in working position.
Use the top three point adjustment link to control roller depth, which will also determine pressure
on the packer drum, which firms the seedbed.
NOTICE
Follow the Operational Procedures outlined in the Power Rake Operator’s
Manual for proper operation.
POWER RAKE PRE-INSTALLATION
. The seeder is mounted to the back of the frame where the gauge wheels normally are.
Remove the gauge wheel assemblies from the rake. Attach the lift arms to the frame to
dimensions shown (See Figure 6). Install caster fork assembly into detachable caster
arms (See Figure 7).
2. Replace the barrier adjustment bar with curved bar.
ATTACHING SEEDER TO HARLEY POWER RAKE®
Move tractor and rake into position in front of the seeder. Move back slowly and carefully, not
allowing anyone to be between the rake and the seeder until receivers are in position to lift seeder.
Carefully raise rake until hooks on seeder are fully engaged. Turn off tractor engine.
Install the 3/4” pins to secure the seeder.
Raise jackstand and secure in operating position.
POWER RAKE ROLLER RPM
The RPM of the Power Rake roller will determine the flow of soil over the roller and how far it
pitches the soil toward the packer drum. As the seed is dropped into this soil flow, the amount of
exposed seed percentage is determined by location of soil flow over the roller in relation to seed
drop zone. To get more seed exposed, slow the RPM of the roller to allow seed to be dropped.
Start with tractor tachometer at 1500 rpm and work up to find optimal seed to soil contact.
BERM LEVELERS
Excessive material may pass over the ends of the roller, creating a ridge which will leave an
uneven seedbed. Lower the berm levelers to spread this material out.

OPERATIONAL PROCEDURE
SEED RATE ADJUSTMENT
When properly adjusted, the holes in the slide should line up with the holes in the box, with
the control handle set at “6”. To make an adjustment, loosen the control handle on the box,
move the slide until the holes line up. When the handle is moved to “0” the holes in the box
should be completely covered. If the holes are not covered, loosen the three bolts holding the
seedmeter casting and shift it slightly so that the “0” mark is farther from the control handle.
Retighten the bolts. Move control handle to “0”. Holes in the box should then be completely
covered.
NOTICE
When changing seed rate always move control handle to “0” then to
new value.

OPERATIONAL PROCEDURE
Shutting Down
Stop equipment.
Lower the lift arms and power rake to the ground.
Purge any air in the system. Hydraulic system leakdown, hydraulic system failures, mechanical
failures, or movement of control levers can cause equipment to drop or rotate unexpectedly.
Shut off engine, set brake, remove key, and remove seat belt before leaving the tractor operator’s
seat.
Do not disconnect hydraulic lines until all system pressure is relieved. Lower unit to ground, stop engine, and operate all hydraulic control levers.
REMOVING SEEDER FROM POWER RAKE
Lower jack stands to “storage” position.
Remove the seeder attachment pins.
On a hard level surface, lower seeder to the ground.
Carefully drive away from seeder, watching that the lift hooks have cleared the attachment
arms.
STORAGE
Make sure the disconnected seeder is stored on a hard, level surface.
Block equipment securely for storage.
Keep children and bystanders away from storage area.
MAINTENANCE
•

option of the equipment or trade accessories as they conform to this policy. Trade accessories such as
but not limited to bearings, tires and wheels, etc will be sent to the respective manufacturer for warranty
consideration. Any warranty reimbursement as related to these items will rely solely on the decision of
each separate manufacture including Harley Attachments, LLC. Reimbursement on parts will be at dealer
net and labor allowances are calculated according to Harley Attachments, LLC’s predetermined flat time
and rate. Freight charges and misc. shop supplies are not covered under warranty.
Dealer’s responsibility is to fully explain the warranty policy to the customer before starting any repairs.
Return the defective parts (prepaid) along with a completed Harley Attachments, LLC warranty form. All
replacement parts used in warranty must be furnished by Harley Attachments, LLC (please refer to
warranty procedures). The selling dealer has no authority to make any representation or promise on behalf
of Harley Attachments, LLC or to modify the terms or conditions of this warranty in any way.

date of purchase. Operate and maintain the equipment according to the recommendations in the owner’s
manual. The owner is responsible for freight and transportation to and from the dealership or any service
calls made by the dealer.
This warranty is subject to any conditions of supply, which may directly affect our ability to obtain materials
or manufacture replacement parts.
