RETAIN THE FOLLOWING FOR FUTURE
REFERENCE.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Mains connection
• Read these instructions carefully, in conjunction with the illustrations, before using the heater.
• Before connecting the heater, check that the voltage indicated on the rating plate corresponds to the mains voltage in your home / office.
• Avoid the use of an extension cord because it may cause the heater to overheat.
•
WARNING: Risk of Fire. Discontinue use if the outlet or plug become hot to the touch.
Overheating may indicate a worn or damaged outlet. Consult a qualified electrician for outlet replacement.
Safe positioning
• Only touch the heater with dry hands.
• DO NOT position where it can be touched by children, especially the very young.
• DO NOT use this heater outdoors.
• This heater is NOT intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and other similar indoor locations. NEVER locate heater where it may fall into the bathtub or other water container.
• Position the heater in such a manner that the air flow toward the heater and away from it, is not obstructed.
• Allow a safe area around the heater away from furniture or other objects; at least 50 cm from the top and sides and 200 cm at the front.
• DO NOT use this heater when it is lying on its side.
• If the heater is tipped over, unplug it and allow it to cool before standing it back up.
• DO NOT use the heater in rooms with explosive gas (e.g. petrol) or while using inflammable glue or solvent (e.g. when gluing or varnishing parquet floors, PVC etc.)
• The heater cannot be used adjacent to curtain or combustible material. Curtain or combustible material may be burned if the heater was installed incorrectly.

Safety in use
• Extra caution is necessary when the heater is used near children, do not leave heater unattended.
• DO NOT insert any objects into the heater.
• Keep the mains cord at a safe distance from the main body of the heater.
• Prevent overheating of the heater by keeping the air inlet and outlet unblocked. DO NOT hang anything in front of or above the heater.
• If overheating should occur, the built-in overheating safety device will switch off the heater.
• DO NOT use aerosols, inflammable substances or materials sensitive to heat in the flow of hot air.
• In the event of a momentary electrical disturbance , the sample may malfunction and require user to reset the heater.
• Do not use this heater with programmer, timer, or any other device that switch the heater on automatically, since a fire exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly.
• Your Heater HOUSING is made of a durable metal construction that will become hot during operation. Please allow 10 minutes for the heater to cool before handling. If you must move your Heater while it is hot, please use extreme caution. Do not use in the vicinity of children without supervision.
• When using the Galileo TM remote to operate the heater, please ensure that the function shown on the Galileo TM control matches the setting on the control panel. If the settings are different, push the Mode button until settings match. See INSTRUCTION MANUAL for additional information.

BEFORE STARTING YOUR PANEL
HEATER
Please make sure that feet are properly fixed to each end of the unit (see Fig. 2 and assembly instruction insert). Alternatively you can wall mount the unit following the below instructions:
Wall Mounting
IMPORTANT: Before drilling into any wall ensure no electrical cables are present in the area.
NOTE: Due to the multitude of potential mounting surfaces, mounting screws are not included with this product. Please consult a professional or visit your local hardware store to determine which type of screw is best for your particular wall.
1. Remove feet from main unit, if installed.
2. Secure the mounting brackets (Fig. 4B and
3C) to the wall using the dimensions provided in Fig. 4A.
3. Hang main body on wall brackets installing first onto bracket “I” , then onto bracket “II”.
(See Fig. 4D & 4E)
SETTING UP - FIRST USE ONLY:
1. Put batteries into remote control by removing the battery cover located on the reverse side.
Use 3 AAA batteries (Not included) only. DO
NOT mix alkaline and heavy duty batteries.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
WARNING: Remove batteries before discarding the remote control.
2. The “ROOM” temperature will be displayed.
3. Plug heater into mains supply. The power light
(Red) will illuminate to signal that the unit is in stand-by mode.
4. The first time the unit is plugged in, it will beep every two seconds until it is synchronised with the remote. To synchronise the unit with the remote control follow the steps below:-
• Unlock remote by holding down the “MODE” button for 2 seconds until the “LOCK” symbol disappears from the screen. (This must also be done before each use of the remote).
• Once the remote is unlocked, press the
‘MODE” button again and the unit will quickly beep 5 times telling the user the signal was received and the remote is synchronised. In the event that your remote control does not communicate- “sync” with your main unit after reading and following the operating instructions, please follow the below set up:
• Hold down both mode button on the remote control and main unit for 5 seconds
(the power LED will blink once quickly).
• Release the mode button and the main unit will begin to beep.
• Now please follow the above instructions on how to 'sync' your remote control with your unit.
• If you still encounter operational issues please call: 0800 052 3615
5. In the event that your remote control does notcommunicate- “sync” with your main unit after reading and following the operating instructions. Please follow the below set-up:
• Hold down both mode button on the remote control and main unit for 5 seconds (the power LED will blink once quickly).
• Release the mode buttons and the main unit will begin to beep.
• Now please follow above instructions on how to 'sync' your remote control with your unit.
USE OF GALILEO TM REMOTE CONTROL
• The display can show either Fahrenheit or
Celsius. To change the reading on the remote control display, unlock the remote, then turn the remote over and push the button located on the right hand side, under the stand, with a ball point pen tip. This switch will change the reading from ºF to ºC and vice versa.
• Whilst using the remote, the backlight function will automatically turn on when any button is pushed and will turn off after 15 seconds of non-use.
• The maximum transmission distance for the remote control is 30 ft. (9 Metres). Do not use or position the remote more than 30 ft (9
Metres) from heater. For accurate temperature control the remote control must be used in same room as heater.
• When positioning the remote control, use the flip up stand on the reverse side.
• Always position the remote control at least 3 ft. (1 Metre) from the heater in a convenient position away from draughts or anything that would influence the room temperature reading. For example, cold window-sill or under warm lighting.
• Because heat rises and the remote control senses temperature, the remote control should not be positioned higher than 4 ft (1.2
Metres) from the floor.
• NEVER place the remote control on the storage hook on the heater when it is in use.
This will upset the readings and prevent proper and satisfactory operation. (See Fig. 5)
• The "Room" temperature will always display on the remote screen if good batteries are in the remote.
• If the batteries are running low on power, a low battery indicator will appear on the remote. Low batteries will effect transmission distance and the screen contrast. We recommend replacing batteries immediately.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
3
• Every minute while in “AUTO” mode, the remote control communicates with the heater.
If the remote control goes out of range and/or has low batteries, the communication will stop, and after 8 minutes of noncommunication, the heater will shut off.
• Do not cover the remote control whilst in use as this may affect the accuracy of the temperature reading.
