Cuando use aparatos eléctricos, especialmente cuando hayan niños, medidas básicas de seguridad deben seguirse, incluyendo las siguientes:

SUGERENCIAS PARA SEGURIDAD CON EL CORDON

1. Nunca hale o tire del cordón o del artefacto.

13. Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.

14. Toaster lever must be in the “up” position before attaching or disconnecting the plug from wall outlet.

15. Failure to clean crumb tray may result in a fire hazard.

This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. It may be plugged into any AC electrical outlet (ordinary household current).

Do not use any other type of outlet.

NOTE:

This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug fits in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit into the outlet, reverse the plug and try again. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from entanglement or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord may be used with care; however, its marked electrical rating should be at least as great as the electrical

rating of the toaster. The extension cord should not drape over the counter or tabletop, where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.

IMPORTANT: Before using, operate the toaster without bread in order to burn off residues on the heating elements. When doing this, we suggest setting the shade selector at a medium setting.

HOW TO USE TOASTER

Adjust the electronic toasting control to the desired setting. Exact settings are difficult to recommend due to personal preference; experiment to suit individual taste. Thick foods and those containing fillings will require a longer toasting time.

Rotate control toward highest setting to increase time. Some frozen pastries and toaster foods may require two heating cycles for proper results.

Remove all protective wrappings from food before placing in toasting wells. (Avoid toasting torn slices of bread and broken pastries, which may get lodged in toasting wells.) Place bread or toaster food into toasting wells and depress the toaster lever.

Automatic bread-centering guides will automatically center bread or toaster food for even toasting.

Cool-wall exterior construction will keep toaster cool to the touch while it is operating.

When toast or toaster food is ready, it will pop up automatically, and the toaster will switch off.

NOTE: Do not make adjustments to the toasting control while the toaster is in use. To interrupt the cycle, gently raise the toaster lever.

When toasting a single slice, the bread or toaster food may be placed in either toasting well but may toast slightly darker on the inside than on the outside.

TO USE THE BAGEL SLICER

The built-in bagel slicer makes it easy to slice and toast bagels to perfection in two simple steps. For convenient, efficient allin-one bagel cutting and toasting:

1. Drop bagel into bagel holder.

2. Adjust bagel inside holder so that knife used to cut bagel will pass through both slots of the holder as bagel is sliced

(Fig. 2). The slots are reinforced with stainless steel so the knife will not damage casing.

3. While slicing the bagel, apply pressure to the bagel lever with the heel of your free hand (Fig. 2). This will steady the bagel as it is being cut and also help to stabilize the toaster and prevent it from sliding. DO NOT place free hand on metal casing of the toaster as it may be hot.

4. Crumbs from sliced bagel will pass through openings in bottom of bagel holder and drop into crumb tray for easy cleaning (Fig. 3).

5. When finished slicing, use bagel lever to lift bagel halves from slicer (Fig. 4).

6. Pop halves of bagel into toaster and begin toasting.

TO USE THE BAGEL SWITCH: Moving the bagel switch upward shuts off the outer heating elements (on the outside walls of toaster), so bagels will toast only on the inside, while the crust remains firm and chewy. Slice bagel in half and place each half in toasting well, making sure the insides are facing each other. Bread guides will automatically adjust to accommodate width of bagel. Slide control to choose desired toasting level. Depress toaster lever.

NOTE: After bagels have finished toasting, be sure to return bagel switch to the bread/pastries position by shifting it downward.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user serviceable parts. Do not try to repair it yourself. Refer it to qualified personnel if servicing is needed.

TO CLEAN: ALWAYS UNPLUG THE TOASTER AND ALLOW IT TO COOL BEFORE CLEANING. Gently shake the toaster so crumbs fall on the crumb tray. Use a small brush to dislodge any crumbs remaining in bagel slicer. If desired, inside of bagel slicer may be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

NOTE: NEVER IMMERSE TOASTER IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. NEVER USE A METAL IMPLEMENT TO

DISLODGE CRUMBS.

CRUMB TRAY: Remove the crumb tray to clean. To remove the crumb tray, grasp the plastic tab on side of toaster and slide out. Brush crumbs from the tray and, if necessary, wipe with a clean, damp cloth. Always dry tray thoroughly before closing it. Slide crumb tray back into place.

CAUTION: TO PREVENT COUNTERTOP FROM BEING DAMAGED, THE TOASTER MUST BE OPERATED WITH THE

CRUMB TRAY IN PLACE.

TO STORE: Unplug the toaster and store in its box or in a clean, dry place. Do not put stress on the cord where it enters the unit, as it could cause the cord to fray and break.

NOTA:

COMO USAR ESTA TOSTADORA

Ajuste el selector electrónico para el nivel de tostadura a la posición deseada. Una posición exacta es difícil de recomendar debido a la preferencia personal; experimente con su gusto individual. Porciones abundantes o aquellas que contengan relleno requerirán un tiempo más largo para tostarse. Seleccione la posición alta para aumentar el tiempo. Algunos pasteles congelados y alimentos para tostar pueden requerir dos ciclos de calentamiento para un resultado adecuado.

Remueva todas las envolturas protectoras de la comida antes de colocarlas en las ranuras de la tostadora. (Evite tostar un pedazo de una rebanada de pan o pedazos de pasteles, lo cual puede quedarse en el interior de las ranuras de la tostadora.)

Coloque pan u otro alimento para tostar dentro de la tostadora y baje la palanca.

Guías ajustables para el pan automáticamente centran el pan u otro alimento para un tostado parejo.

Las paredes exteriores mantendrán la tostadora fría al tacto mientrás está en funcionamiento.

Cuando la tostada esté lista, saltará automáticamente y la tostadora se apagará.

NOTA: No haga ajustes al selector para el nivel de tostadura mientras la tostadora esté funcionando. Para interrumpir el ciclo, levante suavemente la palanca.

Cuando esté tostando una sola rebanada, el pan o tostada pueden ser colocadas en cualquiera de las ranuras de la tostadora, pero el lado de adentro tuesta más que el de afuera.

COMO USAR EL REBANADOR PARA EL BAGEL

El rebanador incorporado para el bagel hace más fácil el rebanar y tostar bagels a la perfección en dos simples pasos. Para comodidad al cortar y tostar a la vez:

1. Coloque el bagel en el soporte para el bagel.

2. Acomode el bagel dentro del soporte de manera que el cuchillo que use para cortar el bagel pasará a través de ambas ranuras del soporte conforme va cortando el bagel (Fig. 2). Las ranuras están reforzadas con acero inoxidable, así el cuchillo no dañará la tostadora.

3. Mientras va rebanando el bagel, aplique presión a la palanca para el bagel con la palma de su mano libre (Fig. 2). Esto lo mantendrá firme mientras va cortándolo y también estabilizará la tostadora y evitará que se deslice. NO COLOQUE la mano que tiene libre en la cubierta de metal de la tostadora, ya que podría estar caliente.

4. Las migajas del bagel rebanado pasarán a través de las aberturas en la base del soporte del bagel y lo arrojará a la bandeja para su fácil limpieza (Fig. 3).

5. Cuando haya terminado de rebanarlo, use la palanca para levantar el bagel en mitades del rebanador (Fig. 4).

6. Coloque el bagel en mitades en la tostadora y comience a tostarlo.

COMO USAR EL INTERRUPTOR PARA BAGEL: Moviendo el interruptor para bagel hacia arriba apaga los elementos de calentamiento de afuera (hacia las paredes de afuera de la tostadora), para que el bagel se tueste por la parte de adentro, mientras que la corteza se mantiene firme y suave. Corte el bagel en mitad y coloque cada mitad dentro de cada canal, asegurándose que las partes de adentro estén de cara una de la otra. Las guías para el pan automáticamente se ajustarán al ancho de la porción. Deslice el selector para el dorado y escoja el nivel de tostado deseado. Oprima la palanca de la tostadora.

NOTA: Después que el bagel se haya terminado de tostar, asegúrese de regresar el interruptor para bagel a la posición pan/pasteles moviéndolo hacia abajo.

INSTRUCCIONES DE MANTENIMIENTO

Este artefacto requiere poco mantenimiento. No contiene piezas que puedan ser reparadas por el usuario. No trate de repararlo usted mismo. Si necesita reparación remítalo a personas calificadas.

PARA LIMPIAR: SIEMPRE DESENCHUFE LA TOSTADORA Y DEJE QUE SE ENFRIE ANTES DE LIMPIARLA.

Suavemente sacuda la tostadora para que la migajas caigan a la bandeja. Use un cepillo pequeño para retirar las migajas que quedan en el rebanador. Si desea, puede limpiar dentro del rebanador con un paño limpio y húmedo.

NOTA: NUNCA SUMERJA LA TOSTADORA EN EL AGUA O CUALQUIER OTRO LÍQUIDO. NUNCA USE UN

IMPLEMENTO DE METAL PARA SACAR LAS MIGAJAS.

BANDEJA PARA LAS MIGAJAS: Retire la bandeja para limpiarla. Para removerla, sujete las lengüetas plásticas al lado de la tostadora y deslícela hacia afuera. Limpie las migajas de la bandeja, y si fuera necesario, límpielas con un paño limpio y húmedo. Siempre seque completamente la bandeja antes de cerrarla. Deslice la bandeja en su lugar.

PRECAUCION: PARA PREVENIR QUE EL MOSTRADOR SE DAÑE, LA TOSTADORA DEBE SER OPERADA CON LA

BANDEJA PARA MIGAJAS EN SU LUGAR.

PARA GUARDAR: Desenchufe la tostadora y guárdela en su caja o en un lugar limpio y seco. No ponga presión al cordón donde éste entra a la unidad, ya que esto podría causar el desgaste del cordón y su posible rotura.
