Submitting Your Assignment via Succeed
This guide explains how to submit your assignments via Succeed. You should check your individual
module requirements for any special instructions.
The Assignments Tool in Succeed allows students to submit completed assignments online. It is not
implemented in all modules at the University of Stirling and in many cases your module tutor may
wish for work to be submitted in another way. Please check with your tutor about the required
manner of submission for your work.
Accessing Your Assignment
Should your module be using online assignment submission via Succeed there will be a link to your
assignment submission area somewhere in you module area on Succeed (the location will differ
across modules – ask your tutor for details if you cannot find it easily). Once you have located the
link, click on the Assignment title (Figure 1) to access the assignment details.

Your assignment details, including the title and the due date should be displayed (Figure 2).
Additional instructions may also be displayed should the module team have included them.
Submitting Your Assignment
It is likely that you will be required to submit a word-processed file for your assignment. Please
ensure before submission that you have followed any instructions regarding file types, layout and
file naming that you may have been given. Then follow these steps to submit your work:
1. To select the file that you wish to submit click the Browse My Computer button halfway
down the page displaying the assignment details (see Figure 2). Please do not click the Write
Submission link and then type or paste your essay into the large text box which appears.

3. Your selected file should now be listed under Attached files on the assignment page (Figure

4. If you are happy to submit this file, scroll to the foot of the page and click Submit to submit
your assignment. If you made an error and attached the wrong file click the Do not attach
link alongside the incorrect file to remove it. If you decide you do not wish to submit your
assignment at this time after all click Cancel.
Reviewing your Submission
1. Once your file has been successfully uploaded details of your submission will be displayed on
the right hand side of the Review Submission History screen (Figure 5). This is the
confirmation page that your assignment has been submitted successfully.

2. The Review Submission History page also includes a download option which allows you to
download your assignment from Succeed if you wish to confirm that Succeed has a copy. If
you return to the same assignment wondering if you have submitted you are shown this
page again indicating that you have submitted.
3. Click OK to return to the folder containing the assignment.
4. If your tutor has allowed multiple submissions the Review Submission History page for
multiple submissions will look like this (Figure 6 – Review Submission History Page for
Multiple Submissions):

Note that there are two submissions (attempt two) and the Start New button allows you to make a
third submission. The ‘Attempt 2’ is a dropdown that allows you to access all previous submissions.
Please note there is no email confirmation from Succeed but you can easily access your submission
history by returning to the assignment in Succeed and viewing the Review Submission History page.
