Operating instructions
The automatic cycles
The automatic cycles allow you to se- lect the degree of dryness you prefer for the clothes being dried.
The Control Knob will not move until the clothes load is almost dry, or the
COOL-DOWN portion of the cycle has been reached. After COOL-DOWN, the knob automatically moves to an OFF area and tumbling stops.
For the first few loads, set the Control
Knob to point to an * in either auto- matic cycle. When the dryer stops, feel the dried items. weight cotton items. The load tumbles without heat during the last 5 min- utes. This helps make the load easier to handle. l

Drying tips
TUMBLE PRESS” Setting
The dryer does not heat when the
Temperature Selector is set on FLUFF
AIR. This setting can be used to fluff bedding, plastic tablecloths, foam rubber pillows, stuffed toys, sneakers, etc.
The TUMBLE PRESS setting removes wrinkles from dry clothing such as items that may have been packed in a suitcase, closet, or items not removed from the dryer.
1. Set Control Knob to TUMBLE PRESS.
2. Set Temperature Selector to PERM’T
PRESVMED.
3. Push START Button.
1. Turn the Control Knob to the number of minutes you want in FLUFF AIR.
2. Push the START Button.
The load will tumble in heated air for 10 minutes. The heat shuts off and the dryer continues to tumble the load for 5 more minutes.
For best results, TUMBLE PRESS only a few items at a time. Put them on hang- ers or fold them as soon as the dryer stops,
FINISH GUARD Setting
When you are unable to unload the dryer as soon as it stops, wrinkles can form.
If you don’t open the door within
5 minutes after the dryer stops, FINISH
GUARD takes over automatically to protect the load. You don’t have to set the Control Knob for FINISH GUARD.
FINISH GUARD tumbles the load, without heat, every 5 minutes for up to
40 minutes. This tumbling rearranges and fluffs the load to help avoid the wrinkles that set in when the load remains in the warm water.
Gentle Heat
The dryer automatically reduces the heat settings in HEAVY HIGH and PERM’T
PRESS MED cycles. During the last 7 minutes of each of these cycles, the temperature gradually reduces to a lower setting. This helps prevent overdrying.
Drying times Mixed loads
l l
Drying times will vary depending on: amount of moisture in the clothes. type and weight of the fabric. l l l size of the load. room temperature around the dryer. temperature of the wash rinse water. amount of lint in the lint screen. l l dryer temperature selection.
See page 6 in your “Dryer Guide” for more information
When drying a load with different kinds and weights of fabrics, use the cycle suggested for the lightest fab- rics When the dryer stops, remove dry items and reset the control.
To reduce wrinkling, take the load from dryer as soon as tumbling stops.
This is important for permanent press knits and synthetics fabrics.
End-of-cycle signal
The dryer sounds a signal to let you know when the cycle is finished. The signal cannot be turned off and is not adjustable.
The signal is helpful when you are drying per- manent press, synthetics and other items that should be taken out as soon as the dryer stops.

Open the lid and pull the lint screen ROLL the lint off the screen with your fingers.
DO NOT rinse or wash the screen.
Push the screen firmly back into place.
Lint removal
Lint can gather inside the dryer and create a fire hazard. This lint should be removed at least every 2 to 3 years, or more often, depending on dryer usage.

If you need service or assistance, we suggest you follow these five steps:
1.
Before calling for assistance...
Performance problems often result from little things you can find and fix your- self without tools of any kind. l l
IF YOUR DRYER DOES NOT RUN:
Is the power supply plugged into a live crrcuit with the proper voltage?
Is the door closed tightly? l l
Did you push the START Button?
Have you checked your home’s main fuses or circuit breaker box? l l l
IF YOUR DRYER DOES NOT HEAT:
The AIR setting is without heat.
The last minutes of heat settings are with- out heat.
An electric dryer uses a circuit breaker or 2 fuses, If one fuse is blown, the dryer may run, but not heat. l
IF DRYING TIME SEEMS TOO LONG:
Is the lint screen clean? See page 9 of this book for cleaning instructions.
. See page 8 of this book and pages 5,6 and 17 of your “Dryer Guide”
