HONDA DEALER. THEY SAID THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS FOR FIXING MY
PROBLEM. THEY SAID THEY WILL LET ME KNOW ONCE THEY HAVE THE PARTS.
AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTHS I CALLED AGAIN AND THEY SAID THEY DON'T
HAVE THE PARTS. THEY SAID I CAN FILE A COMPLAINT.

TO HAVE OUR AIRBAG RECALL DONE THE SSR LIGHT CONTINUED TO GO OFF
AND ON . WE THOUGHT IT WAS DUE TO THE AIRBAG RECALL ON THE VEHICLE .
AFTER THE RECALL WAS DONE , THE SSR LIGHT CONTINUE TO STAY ON . THE
SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT HONDA SAID IT WAS THE AIRBAG SENSOR IN THE
SEAT THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT WOULD COST $290.00 TO FIX THIS. I
INVESTIGATED ONLINE AND FOUND MANY ISSUES WITH THE AIRBAG SENSOR
THAT DID HAVE RECALLS ON THEM. THE 2006 HONDA ACCORD WAS NOT
LISTED FOR A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE BUT, FOUND MANY CUSTOMERS WITH
COMPLAINTS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE. ON NHTSA REPORTS THEY HAD A
ARTICLE STATING HONDA RECALLS 81,000.00 ACCORDS OVER AIRBAG
SENSOR. THEY WERE RECALLING 2004-05 ACCORD SEDANS. THEY NEED TO
EXTEND THIS TO 2006 VEHICLES. !

1/12/15 BY CORAL SPRINGS AUTOMALL HONDA'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT. A
MONTH AGO I GET ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE ON THE AIRBAG AND SORT OF
SKIM OVER IT THINKING I JUST GOT IT REPLACED. I WAS JUST DOUBLE
CHECKING THAT ALL SAFETY RECALLS HAD BEEN DONE ON THE CAR WHEN I
REALIZED THAT THIS LAST RECALL WAS FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG.
THE DEALER SHIP ONLY REPLACED THE INFLATOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE. I
CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW MANY PEOPLE ALSO ARE IN THE SAME BOAT NOT
REALIZING HONDA DID NOT BOTHER REPLACING BOTH FRONT SIDE AIR BAGS
AND SEEING THIS SECOND NOTICE THAT IT WAS ALREADY FIXED.
THERE
ARE MANY AVENUES TO ADDRESS THIS AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE NHTSA
MAKE A NEWS RELEASE ADDRESSING THIS VERY ISSUE FOR ALL CAR OWNERS
- SPECIFICALLY THAT BOTH AIRBAGS NEED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT IF YOU
PREVIOUSLY TOOK YOUR CAR IN, DEALERSHIPS DID NOT BOTHER TO

1.) EVERY TIME I
TAP MY BRAKES IN AN ATTEMPT TO SLOW DOWN WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY, THE
FRONT END OF THE CAR STARTS SHAKING. I HAD NEW TIRES PUT ON, THE
BREAKS REPLACED AND HAD THE ROTORS CHECKED. I HAD A CHECK
PERFORMED ON THE FRONT END AND THE MECHANIC SAYS THERE IS

DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND EVALUATION. I BROUGHT MY CAR AT HONDA
DEALER BUT THEY SAID THEY WERE NOT EQUIPPED WITH SKILL AND TOOLS
TO INSPECT AND EVALUATE AND STATED THAT I SHOULD GO TO A THIRD
PARTY COLLISION SHOP. I CONTACTED HONDA USA AGAIN AND THEY ASKED

OF 1/28/2013 AT APPROXIMATELY 7:30AM CST, I WALKED OUT TO MY CAR TO
START IT. WHEN I TURNED THE KEY, THE PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS
DEPLOYED. SINCE IT WAS -12F OUTSIDE, I FIGURED THERE WAS SOME SORT
OF MECHANICAL FAILURE AND HONDA WOULD COVER IT. I CALLED HONDA OF
LISLE, IL AND THEY ASKED THAT I BRING IT IN FOR DIAGNOSTICS. I DROPPED
THE CAR OFF THURSDAY MORNING AND LATER THEY CALLED AND SAID THEY
FOUND SCRAPES UNDER THE CAR AND THAT THE COMPUTER RETURNED SRS
CODES THAT INDICATED A COLLISION TOOK PLACE. I TOLD THEM THAT THERE
HAVE ONLY BEEN TWO INCIDENTS WITH THE CAR, NEITHER OF WHICH
REQUIRED ANY BODY WORK. WE RAN OVER A VERY DEEP POTHOLE IN 2006,
WHICH REQUIRED THE RIM TO BE REPLACED. IN 2007 (OR POSSIBLY 08), I FELL
INTO THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE QUARTER PANEL WHILE ATTEMPTING TO
ROLLER BLADE FOR THE FIRST TIME AND DENTED IT. BECAUSE THE SCRAPES
THAT HE DESCRIBED SEEM TO HAVE BEEN IN THE EXACT SAME AREA AS
WHERE WE HIT THE POTHOLE, I FIGURED THEY MUST HAVE COME FROM THAT.

THEIR ZONE MANAGER FROM HONDA AMERICA NEEDED TO
INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE FURTHER AND WOULD BE IN THE NEXT DAY (FRIDAY)

TO MY SERVICE ADVISOR AND HE INFORMED ME THAT THE ZONE MANAGER

I WAS DRIVING
OUT OF MY NEIGHBOOD IN A 25 MPH ZONE AND HIT A MAIL TRUCK ON THE

AS I TURNED THE CORNER, A SPIDER CRAWLED FROM THE CEILING OF MY

HAND. I DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION BUT DOCTORED ON MY HAND
MYSELF; IT TOOK MONTHS BEFORE THE APPEARANCE IF MY HAND WOULD
LOOK NORMAL. I HAVE PICTURES. THE REPAIR SHOP, TOW TRUCK AND POLICE
OFFICER COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED IN THE

I THEN CALLED THE HARTFORD AND REQUESTED THAT THEY CALL
HONDA TO HAVE THE CAR INSPECTED BY HONDA THEMSELVES. HARTFORD
TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT PAY TO HAVE HONDA INSPECT THE VEHICLE
- THEY WERE JUST GOING TO HAVE THEIR ADJUSTER LOOK AT THE CAR AND
TOLD ME THEY WERE NOT GOING TO LOOK AT THE SPEED SENSOR AT ALL.
SO , BASICALLY, NO ONE IS WILLING TO DO ANYTHING AND I ALMOST KILLED A
BABY IN A CAR SEAT AND MYSELF THIS SEEMS LUDICROUS TO ME THAT NO

2006 HONDA ACCORD EX SEDAN ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE DRIVER-SIDE
CURTAIN AND SEAT AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THERE WAS NO
ACCIDENT OR IMPACT OF ANY KIND. THE AIRBAGS JUST DEPLOYED.
LIKEWISE, THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT TIGHTENED AND WILL NOT PULL OR
RETRACT.
LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO KEEP THE CAR UNDER CONTROL AND
NOT WRECK, DESPITE BEING CAUGHT OFF GUARD.
NOTHING WAS DONE TO
CORRECT THIS FAILURE. HONDA INDICATED THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS
AND THEY ARE UNAWARE OF ANY RELATED ISSUES. HONDA SUGGESTED I
CALL MY INSURANCE WHO TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A MECHANICAL FAILURE AND

I WAS IN A HIGH
SPEED MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH ALONG WITH A COWORKER THAT I CAR POOL
WITH IN THE 2006 ACCORD WHEN A DOG RAN OUT IN FRONT OF THE CAR AT
4:30 AM ON THE HIGHWAY ON MY WAY TO WORK. I WAS TRAVELING AT
APPROXIMATELY 70-75 MPH, BRAKED AND SWERVED, BUT STILL HIT THE DOG
AT HIGH SPEED. THE DOG WAS OF MEDIUM TO LARGE SIZE APPROXIMATELY
60-70 LBS AND CAUSED CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT BUMPER. I
THEN LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR, WENT OF THE ROAD , AND THE VEHICLE
ROLLED AT LEAST 3 TIMES. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED A GREAT AMOUNT OF
DAMAGE TO THE FRONT BUMPER AS WELL AS TO THE ENTIRE PASSENGER
SIDE OF THE CAR, YET NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I WAS TOLD BY MY HONDA
DEALERSHIP THAT "THE SENSORS FOR THE AIRBAGS WERE VERY SMALL AND

MUST BE HIT DIRECTLY IN ORDER FOR THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY, SO THE
SENSORS MUST NOT HAVE BEEN HIT JUST RIGHT , AND THERE WAS
PROBABLY NO REASON TO BE CONCERNED. HOWEVER, ANYONE WHO SAW
THE DAMAGE TO MY CAR, INCLUDING STATE TROOPERS, EMS, TOW TRUCK
DRIVERS, AS WELL AS FAMILY AND FRIENDS, ALL STATED THAT THE AIRBAGS
SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED IN THIS INSTANCE. I DID NOT FIND THAT THESE
AIRBAGS TO BE VERY BENEFICIAL IF WHAT THE PERSON AT THE HONDA
DEALERSHIP SAID WAS TRUE. BOTH MY PASSENGER AND I SUFFERED
WHIPLASH, BACK AND NECK STRAIN, AND MILD CONCUSSIONS, THANKFULLY
THAT WAS ALL. HOWEVER I COULD NOT HELP BUT WONDER IF THE AIRBAGS
WOULD HAVE SAVED US FROM THE INJURIES WE DID SUSTAIN. THE CAR WAS
TOTALED BY INSURANCE COMPANY . THEREFORE, NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN
DONE. I AM DEBATING WHETHER TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA
REGARDING A POSSIBLE DEFECT IN AIRBAG SENSORS.*AK! TOLEDO

I WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION WITH ANOTHER CAR, I SUSTAINED
DAMAGED FRONT BUMPER, HOOD, DRIVER'S SIDE FENDER, RADIATOR. THE
PROBLEM IS THAT MY AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. BOTH MYSELF AND MY
PASSENGER WERE WEARING SEAT & SHOULDER BELTS AND WERE NOT HURT.
