MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
EXCESSIVE PRESSURE OR CORROSION.
TO REDUCE LIME SEDIMENT: DRAIN THE TANK, INSPECT THE TANK FOR LIME OR
SEDIMENT DEPOSIT, REMOVE LIME AND SEDIMENT BY USING A COMMERCIAL LIME
A TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE
LISTED AND COMPLYING WITH THE STANDARD FOR
RELIEF VALVES AND AUTOMATIC GAS SHUTOFF
DEVICES FOR HOT WATER SUPPLY SYSTEMS, ANSI
Z21.22-MOST RECENT EDITION, SHALL BE
DISSOLVING CHEMICAL OR BY HAND.
TO ASSURE RELIEF VALVE OPERATION: MANUALLY OPEN THE RELIEF VALVE TO
FLUSH ANY LIME DEPOSITS, MAKE CERTAIN THE SEAT CLOSES PROPERLY.
TO PREVENT CORROSION OF THE TANK: REMOVE THE RODS ON THE TOP OF THE
TANK OR INSPECT THEM THROUGH THE HAND HOLE WHEN THE TANK IS DRAINED,
IF THE RODS ARE REDUCED TO 1/3 OF THE ORIGINAL DIAMETER REPLACE THEM,
FAILURE TO INSPECT THE ANODE RODS MAY RESULT IN PREMATURE FAILURE OF
THE HEATER.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION: HOTTER WATER INCREASES THE RISK OF SCALD INJURY. THE REQUIRED
WATER TEMPERATURE IN THE STATE OF WISCONSIN IS 120F. CHECK LOCAL CODES.
FOR YOUR SAFETY: DO NOT STORE OR USE GASOLINE OR OTHER FLAMMABLE
VAPORS AND LIQUIDS IN THE VICINITY OF THIS OR ANY OTHER APPLIANCE. IF
HEATER IS LOCATED NEAR FLAMMABLE VAPORS, CLEARANCE ABOVE THE FLOOR
MUST BE 18" OR MORE.
