IAM Individual Appliance Monitor Ms 77x125_HR.indd 1 User Guide 04/04/2012 14:2 Thank you for purchasing an Individual Appliance Monitor (IAM). IAMs can identify and monitor your energy hungry appliances. Compatible with ENVI and EnviR monitors, these devices help users understand energy consumption and costs, even when an appliance is on standby, or when it is no longer running efficiently. Installation Instructions: 1) Take an IAM and plug this into a convenient wall socket. Do not plug an appliance into the IAM at this stage. 2) S witch on the wall socket power supply. The RED LED on the IAM should be on. 3) O n the front locate the recessed tuning button in the centre of the IAM. 4) Using a used match, pen or similar, push and hold the recessed tuning button until the RED LED has flashed ONCE only. 5) U pon releasing, the RED LED on the IAM will rapidly flash. If it doesn’t, please try again. Ms 77x125_HR.indd 2 04/04/2012 14:2 6) Go to your monitor and press the UP button once. This will take you to a screen that will show appliance 1 (bottom right). button 7) N ext press and hold the DOWN until the RED LED on the monitor flashes. 8) W hen you release the button, the screen will show a tuning signal indicating the display is tuning to the IAM. 9) O nce tuning is completed, your display will clear and then ‘Energy Now’ will show ‘0 Watts’. 10) Take your IAM to the wall socket of the chosen appliance you wish to monitor and plug it in. You can now plug the appliance into your IAM. 11) On your monitor the energy usage of your connected appliance will now be displayed on the appliance screen. 12) To add further IAMs please repeat the above steps. When you are at step 6, appliance 1 button is displayed, just press the UP once to take you to the appliance 2 screen. Complete the above steps to finish tuning your second IAM to appliance 2. Ms 77x125_HR.indd 3 04/04/2012 14:2 Repeat this process with additional IAMs. A total of 9 x IAMs can be tuned to a single Current Cost monitor. Notes: • If you wish to tune more than one Current Cost monitor with your IAM, while retaining the communication link with your original monitor, repeat the above steps. At step 4 ensure that the RED LED has flashed TWICE only on the IAM before completing the tuning with the additional monitor. • If you are using more than one IAM it is advisable to make a note of which appliances you are monitoring. • Once an IAM has been paired it can be moved from one socket to another. • When viewing any of your IAM data you can return to the Home Screen by pressing the DOWN button. How do I connect the IAM to my monitor?
