Replacement Electronics Assembly for InSight I CEX Scanner

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Removing the old Scanner Electronics Assembly

1. Turn off all electrical power to the InSight 95-Series CEX scanner.

2. Remove the CEX housing cover.

3. Remove the fiber insulating paper from the electronics or the housing cover, and set aside.

4. Record their location then disconnect the scanner cable wires from the two terminal strips on the electronics assembly. (Refer to InSight scanner bulletin CU-95 for complete wiring information.)

5. Disconnect the scanner cable shield drain wire from the insulated ground strap.

6. With a 7/16” wrench, loosen the two hex-head bolts and remove the electronics assembly.

Installing the new Scanner Electronics Assembly

1. Remove and discard the hex nuts from the two hex-head bolts, (see Photo 1).

2. Add a small amount of removable thread locking compound (e.g. Loctite ® two screw holes in the CEX housing base, (see Photo 2).

3. Position the new scanner electronics assembly into the CEX housing base, (see Photo 3).

4. Align the two hex head bolts with the threaded holes on the CEX housing base and torque to

30 inch-pounds (3.39 Newton-meters).

5. Reconnect the scanner cable shield drain wire to the insulated ground strap.

6. Reconnect the scanner cable wires to the two terminal strips on the electronics assembly.

7. Position the original fiber insulating paper around the electronics (see Photo 4), and reinstall the CEX housing cover.
