


We have added the Events tab to the Setup > Clients screen. This tab displays information from the
Events log for the currently selected client. For more information, see Event tracking, overview.
We have added the Events tab to the Setup > Bank Accounts screen. This tab displays information
from the Events log for the currently selected bank account. For more information, see Event tracking,
overview.
We have made the following enhancements in the Actions > Enter Transactions screen.
 The ID, Payee, and Description fields now remain enabled when payments or
unprinted/handwritten checks are added or edited. (Accounting CS Ideas Community, Ideas 108,
355, and 934)
 The shortcut key that is used to move to the next field without auto-filling the previous
transaction’s value in the Reference, ID, Payee, and Description fields is now CTRL + Spacebar.
We have reverted the original shortcut key (the Right Arrow key) to use its standard behavior in
those fields. (Accounting CS Ideas Community, Idea 1900)
 We have enhanced the Enter Transactions Options dialog (accessed by choosing Edit > Options)
by adding the Vendor ID, Payee/Description, and Amount checkboxes in the Fields to Skip tab.

Accounting
We have added two account activity views — one for the Trial Balance activity and one for the General
Ledger activity — to help you analyze GL account activity efficiently. These views enable you to drill down
to view transaction details. You can access these views from the Actions > Analyze Account Activity
menu or the Analyze Account Activity button on the toolbar.
Accounts Receivable
The Ellipsis button next to the Customer ID field (which opens the Customer Selection dialog) now
remains enabled when a scheduled template is added or edited and No end is selected in the End
schedule based on field in the Setup > Invoice Templates screen. (Accounting CS Ideas Community, Idea
1474)
Accounting CS Client Access
To enhance communications with your existing and prospective business clients, we have added the
ability to set up a NetClient CS® demonstration portal, which enables you to evaluate and showcase
Accounting CS Client Access. For more information, see Adding a NetClient CS demonstration portal. In
addition, you can demonstrate to your clients the power and benefits of Accounting CS Client Access
through videos and marketing materials. For more information, see Client Access Marketing Tools.
Workpapers CS™



We have added a Type filter to the Workpapers List portlet to enable you to filter the portlet by
workpaper type.
We have added the ability to return multiple workpapers at the same time to the binder in the
Workpapers List portlet. (Accounting CS Ideas Community, Idea 944)
We have addressed an issue that caused an error to occur when documents were printed from
Internet Explorer® using the Workpapers print driver.
Reports



We have updated the application to display a progress bar (which includes an option to cancel the
process) when reports are previewed or printed. (Accounting CS Ideas Community, Idea 1032)
We have updated the following reports.
 Chart of Accounts - Detailed, Tax Code Groupings, and Tax Reconciliation Worksheet Detailed accounting reports. These reports now use the new M-3 tax code variables.
 Tax Code Worksheet accounting report. We have addressed an issue with a cell formula that
prevented the application from summing together the amounts in the appropriate cells.
 Workpaper List workpapers report. We have added a Type filter to the Workpaper tab in the
Filtering and Sorting section of the report options to enable you to filter the report by workpaper
type.
 Preprocessing Summary payroll report. This report now includes optional check detail regions
that display detailed work hours information.
Note: If your firm has modified the predefined version of a report, the application will not overwrite
your existing report with an updated version. If this is the case, you will need to make the necessary
changes to your customized report manually, or you will need to restore the latest predefined version
using the Report Designer. To do the latter, select the report from the Reports list pane in the Report
Designer and then choose File > Restore Default.
We have addressed an issue that, in certain circumstances, caused the application to close during
attempts to filter by account using certain methods (such as is greater than, is less than, and is in the
range) in the Chart of Accounts tab in the Filtering and Sorting section of the report options for
accounting reports and financial statements.
Report Designer
We have added M-3 Tax Code Subcode and M-3 Tax Code Custom Description variables to the Chart of
Accounts > Accounts and the Tax Code Adjustment Activity sections of the Variables tree.

General – Payroll






The application now alerts you when an invalid Social Security number is entered in the Setup >
Employees screen.
We have added the Events tab to the Setup > Employees screen. This tab displays information from
the Events log for the currently selected employee. For more information, see Event tracking,
overview.
We have added the Box 10 – Dependent care benefits checkbox to the W2 Additional Boxes section
in the Main tab of the Setup > Payroll Items screen for Employer Contribution payroll items.
We have updated the Employee field in the Actions > Enter Transactions screen to remain enabled
when unprinted/handwritten payroll checks are added or edited. This enables you to right-click and
choose Edit Employee to make changes to the selected employee record without leaving the screen.
(Accounting CS Ideas Community, Idea 148)
We have added a Payroll Item Display Settings section in the Payroll tab of the Enter Transactions
Options dialog (accessed via Edit > Options in the Actions > Enter Transactions screen). The options
in this new section enable you to hide and/or skip various columns for a payroll check. (Accounting
CS Ideas Community, Idea 728)
We have added the ability to override the Amount field on payroll checks for payroll items with a
calculation type of Hourly rate or Salary – Hours sensitive. (Accounting CS Ideas Community,
Idea 1344)
Payroll form and filing information
The Payroll Form and Filing Information portlet on the Home or Firm dashboard provides the following
information: form approval status, form availability, available filing methods, form due dates, form filing
addresses, tax payment information (for all tax types), agency contact information, new hire reporting
information, payroll resources, and tax calendar (to view and print tax deposit due dates and form due
dates for all federal, state, and certain local tax agents). Click the applicable jurisdiction on the map to
display the federal, state, and local tax form information within the tabbed pages in the lower section of
the portlet. For information on working with portlets, enter Dashboard portlet: Payroll Form & Filing
Information in the search field on the application toolbar.

new hire files for v.2015.2.0.
Accounting CS Payroll, for live payroll processing
In addition to the changes made for general payroll features listed above for after-the-fact payroll
processing, the following changes have been made for the live payroll processing features specific to
Accounting CS Payroll.




We have added the Per hourly increment accruable benefit accrual method to the Setup > Accruable
Benefits screen to accommodate minimum sick pay regulations in CA, MA, NJ, and other states with
similar requirements. (Accounting CS Ideas Community, Idea 1984)
We have added an Accruable Benefits grid to the Detail tab of the Actions > Enter Batch Payroll
Checks screen and the Main tab of the Actions > Enter Transactions screen. The grid displays the
accrual information that is calculated on the payroll check and allows you to override check-based
accrual information (Per hour worked, Per paycheck, and Per hourly increment accrual methods only)
if necessary.
When a payroll schedule that has a suspended batch is selected in the Actions > Enter Batch Payroll
Checks screen and there have been no changes made that would affect the payroll checks, the
application now confirms that you want to resume processing the selected batch rather than asking if
you’d like to refresh the payroll check information.
The Preprocessing Summary report, which is displayed when you click the Preview Payroll button in
the Actions > Enter Batch Payroll Checks screen, now uses the sort order specified in the Enter Batch
Payroll Checks Options dialog (accessed by choosing Edit > Options).
