NR3 Series
As the newest member of the Wilkins pressure reducing valve family, the NR3 is the most versatile
yet. Its cartridge loaded design with integral strainer allow for rapid cleaning and repair, making the
valve most suitable for residential and commercial applications that require minimal downtime for
maintenance. Both ends of the regulator are threaded for unions and female NPT, allowing for a
tremendous number of end connection options. As with all Wilkins pressure reducing valves, the
NR3 reduces pressure in both flowing and non-flowing applications.

be mounted in accordance with the latest edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code. The Model NR3
may be installed in any position. If installed in a pit, vault or indoors, specify the “SC” sealed cage
option. The assembly shall be installed with sufficient side clearance for testing and maintenance.
Multiple installations are recommended for wide demand variations
or where the desired pressure reduction is more than 4 to 1 (ie: 200
psi inlet reduced to 50 psi outlet). CAUTION: Anytime a reducing
valve is adjusted, a pressure gauge (Model HGI-25) must
be used downstream to verify correct pressure setting.
Do not bottom out adjustment bolt on bell housing.

NR3XL Series
Designed with low lead construction, the NR3XL is compliant with California Assembly Bill 1953 which
states that the weighted average surface area shall contain less that 0.25% lead. Additionally, the valve
is NSF 61 approved. Embodying all of the features and benefits of the NR3, the NR3XL, with its low
lead construction, is the ideal valve for residential and commercial drinking water systems. Removal of
lead from drinking water systems is in the best health interest of all who come in contact with water,
and the NR3XL is the perfect valve to accomplish this goal.

BR4 Series
The BR4 was Wilkins first pressure reducing valve to utilize a replaceable thermoplastic cartridge. The plastic
cartridge reduces internal corrosion, thus increasing the time between cartridge replacements. Its 15 to
150 psi adjustment range is the broadest of any regulator that Wilkins offers. Accepting up to 400 psi on
the inlet and having end connections that are threaded for both unions and female NPT make the BR4
extremely versatile in residential, commercial and irrigation applications. As with all Wilkins regulators, the
integral by-pass helps prevent pressure buildup in a closed system due to thermal expansion.

When the model 70 was introduced in 1972, its cartridge loaded design was revolutionary when compared to the 50 plus year-old regulator designs that dominated the market at that time. Still with us today,
the model 70 has a multitude of followers that appreciate its ruggedness along with its compact size and

Many water pressure reduction applications involve water that has a high concentration of sand. Sandy
water results in frequent integral strainer cleaning. The model 600 is just the regulator for these applications. The model 600 has its strainer accessible through a separate cap. Unlike other regulator designs
that require disassembly of the valve, the model 600’s screen is accessed by the removal of a single cap.
This will drastically reduce the time needed to clean the strainer screen. Just like the 500 series, the 600

and a 760 dual check with intermediate atmospheric vent. Designed to reduce pressure on

Tailpiece Kits TPK Series
Tailpiece Kits (TPK) are accessories for water pressure reducing valves. These kits are comprised of a cast
brass union nut (ASTM B584), a EPDM gasket and a specific type of tailpiece for direct connection to
specific types of piping. Tailpiece kits are available for connection to FNPT, MNPT, female copper SWT,
male copper SWT, PEX (male barb), CPVC and compression (male) piping systems. A valve may utilize
two different tailpiece kits for connection to two dissimilar piping systems. An example of this
scenario is having copper sweat piping on the valve inlet and PEX piping on the outlet. By using a TPKC

Applications
The Model HGI-25 is designed for measuring water system pressure from any hose bibb or water heater drain valve. The indicator needle identifies the highest pressure reached within the system which
is ideal for registering maximum system pressure caused by thermal expansion or pressure spikes. The
maximum pressure indicator needle can be reset by turning the external knob counter clockwise.
The Model 92-25 & 92-25A are designed for accurately measuring system pressure downstream of a
pressure reducing valve. The pressure gauge can be threaded directly to all Wilkins pressure reducing
valves supplied with tapped or plugged option. For water service only.

Fire Protection Pressure Reducing Valve – ZW109FP
Fire protection systems are required to have the pressure reduced to a value below 165 psi, Therefore, the pressure within a fire protection system must be tightly controlled. The ZW109FP is designed
to handle this very application. The ZW109FP is a pilot operated pressure reducing valve made specifically for the demands of a fire protection system. Designed to hold downstream pressure constant,
regardless of flow rate or inlet pressure fluctuations, the ZW109FP will accept 300 psi on the inlet and
adjust from 30 to 165 psi on the outlet. The ZW109FP is furnished standard with 300# flanges, but
also available in grooved and 150# flange connections.

When high capacity pressure relief is called for, the ZW105 will answer the calling. The ZW105 is
a hydraulically operated, pilot controlled relief valve that maintains a constant upstream pressure.
When used on a branch line, the ZW105 provides relieving service in applications such as a pump
by-pass. When installed in-line, the ZW105 serves as a pressure sustaining valve, thereby maintaining
upstream pressure. Standard with 150# flanges, the ZW105 will accept 250 psi on the inlet while
providing an adjustment range of 20 to 200 psi.

Pressure Relief Service - To provide protection for the system against high pressure surges when pumps are shut down, this fast opening - slow
closing relief valve dissipates the excess pressure.
Pressure Sustaining Service - When installed in a line between an upper zone and a lower area of heavy demand, the valve acts to maintain
desired upstream pressure to prevent “robbing” of the upper zone by the heavy demand in the lower zone. This valve senses the upstream pressure.
Water in excess of pressure setting flows to area of heavy demand; control is smooth, and pressure regulation is positive.

Fire Protection Pressure Relief Valve – ZW105FP
Fire protection systems are susceptible to severe damage if an over-pressure situation were to occur.
To prevent over-pressure due to dead-heading of the pump, a high capacity pressure relief valve
is necessary. This is where the ZW105FP steps up to the plate. Like its domestic counterpart, the
ZW105, the ZW105FP is built to handle the rigors of fire protection duty. Furnished standard with
150# flanges, the ZW105FP can accept up to 250 psi on the inlet and is provided with a standard 20
– 200 psi adjustment range. The ZW105FP is a fast-reacting valve that opens to relieve excess pump
pressure when the demand on the fire protection system slows or ceases, allowing the pump to be
stopped without resulting line pressure surges.

Float Valve – ZW104
Level control in tanks can be accomplished in many ways. One of the best ways is through the use of a
pilot controlled, non-modulating float valve such as the ZW104. The ZW104 will fully open when the tank’s
liquid level falls to a predetermined point. When the tank reaches the high set point, the ZW104 will close
drip tight and remain closed until the minimum set point is again reached.

The ZW106 is a pilot operated solenoid valve that either opens or closes upon receiving an electrical
signal. The ZW106 is a perfect valve to use with the Wilkins 375MS and EST. In this application, the
ZW106 is used to stop water flow should the relief valve of the backflow prevention assembly begin to
discharge. Not limited to this application, the ZW106 can be used anytime it is advantageous to open
or close a line electrically rather than mechanically. The ZW106 can be equipped in either a normally

The Wilkins model 350 double check valve assembly, with its revolutionary removable pressure vessel, is
designed to protect against backpressure and backsiphonage of polluted water into the potable water
supply. In addition to the removable pressure vessel, the 350 series offers low head loss, short lay length,
and top mounted test cocks resulting in superior valve box installation flexibility. The removable pressure
vessel allows for the most rapid repair of any valve in the Backflow Preventer marketplace. The blow-out,

There are many instances where a double check valve assembly must be retrofitted into a system, but
there is inadequate room to install a traditional in-line, horizontal valve. The Wilkins 450 was designed
with this problem in mind. The 450, with its “N” pattern design, offers a compact double check that
lends itself well to cramped, retrofit locations. Constructed with light weight, ductile iron bodies, the 450
also utilizes the patented Compound Checks®, resulting in a light weight valve with extremely low head

Wilkins 950XLTDABF double check detector assembly offers an alternative to the larger flanged
detector assemblies that are typically used. Constructed around the 2” 950XLT, the 950XLTDA

that is needed. The 450DA is an “N” pattern double check detector assembly designed to prevent backpressure or backsiphonage of water from the fire system into the public potable supply. While protecting
against a non-health hazard backflow condition, the 450DA provides low head loss and excellent backflow
protection through the use of the center stem guided Compound Check®. As is true with all of Wilkins large
diameter backflow assemblies, the 450DA is available with grooved or flanged end connections via gate or

The 1/4” to 1/2” 975XL was designed for installation in very tight locations. Typically, high hazard
applications such as beverage machines require installation in small, inaccessible areas. With the
975XL’s top access to the checks, it is much easier to repair than “wye” pattern designs when in
difficult assembling areas. Designed to prevent backpressure and backsiphonage of contaminated water into the public potable supply, the1/4” to 1/2” 975XL is ready for the challenge.

Reduced pressure principle assemblies are designed to discharge water. Relief valve discharge can
result in severe property damage should the discharge go undetected. The Wilkins 975XLMS can
alleviate the potential damage. The relief valve is equipped with a monitor switch that when attached to the appropriate alarm, will notify the proper authorities that the relief valve is discharging.
Hence the discharge can be corrected before damage occurs. While still providing the superior
protection of the 975XL the 975XLMS can also be used in conjunction with the ZW106 and EST
allowing for a total shut-off of the water during relief valve discharge.

Relief valve discharge from a reduced pressure principle assembly can lead to costly water
damage. The 975XLBMS is designed to sound an audible alarm should the relief valve begin
to discharge. The battery monitor switch used with the 975XLBMS is a stand-alone alarm that
does not require electrical power. When the relief valve discharge occurs, the BMS’s internal
timer will set off an audible alarm within 10 seconds, letting the appropriate people know that
discharge is occurring. In addition to this feature, the BMS also exhibits a phone port that can
be connected to an auto dialer or alarm panel.

Pre-Plumbed Backflow Station Pre-Set Series
The pre-set series of pre-plumbed backflow stations were created by Wilkins to reduce the time
necessary to install a backflow station. Typically, a backflow station will embody the backflow preventer,
wye strainer, pressure reducing valve and or check valve all plumbed together. Wilkins had a desire to
reduce the amount of labor the installer would spend by giving the installer a pre-plumbed, pre-tested

The Wilkins RPHBM was designed to help water purveyors increase income through the accurate
measurement of water while protecting the potable water supply at the same time. Designed to
measure the quantity of water used in temporary installations such as connection to a fire hydrant,
RPHBM allows for rapid refill of water trucks used for job site dust abatement and soil compaction.

installations that rule out a traditional horizontal valve. The 475, with its “N” pattern design, is the perfect
valve for use in retrofit applications where a horizontal valve will just not fit. The 475V allows for a vertical

Many fire suppression systems require their components to be installed in less than perfect locations.
Cramped closets and overflowing mechanical rooms do not leave much room for a traditional, horizontal
reduced pressure detector assembly. The 475DA and 475DAV were designed to solve this problem. The
