Frequently asked questions

To turn off the system, switch off the electrical water heater isolating switch (electric element boost heating), switch off the power to the Solar Control Unit (solar heating), shut off the cold water-in to the DuoValve and close the Shut-off ball valve on the Solar Control Kit.

When away, close the system down. Switch off and unplug the solar controller and move the Shut off ball-valve to the off position, turn off the 'mains water in' at the DuoValve, switch off the booster supply. If freezing conditions are expected, leave the solar controller switched on and the Shut off ball-valve switched on, so the Solar Hot water system will automatically defrost the Solar collectors as required.

This may be caused by insufficient sunlight, the booster heating not working, Solar water not hot enough when conditions are good, air in the system, excessive use of water, or the thermostat setting being too high. Check the related points in the manual for troubleshooting steps.
